a little note here, if you plan to play co-op games where the game lobby is hosted locally on your PC, you might need 32GB RAM as everything that's populated in the game runs off your PC and is temporarily stored in your RAM for as long as the server is active. I find this out when I was playing Icarus with my wife and every fresh game, about an hour or so into the game, the FPS would randomly drastically drop from stable 80fps to 25-45fps, and I noticed my RAM usage was at 15.9GB/16GB, then I upgraded it to 32GB, and the lag never happened again as the RAM would only use up no more than 18GB/32GB

@@ancientslav4863 thought abt it too but ddr4 so no 2x 2gb
This is a very good example how RAM could be bottlenecking your PC and you wouldn't even know it just by looking at RAM usage and FPS. Most visible at 8GB where FPS is 100-120 which seems fantastic but the frame timing is abysmal making it stutter and feel like 30fps. It's even visible at 16vs32 but to a lesser extend. 32 has the least timing spikes and the best lows
Only reason to why you'd have 8GB of RAM these days is if you have a really old or cheap computer anyways, at which point the rest of your components won't let you have a good experience one way or another lol

The takeaway here: Going past the minimum required memory for a game doesn't have magical performance benefits. Buy the minimum amount of RAM you think you'll need. Wasting money on more doesn't benefit you if you're not going to use it.
I have a problem. I need to choose between two sticks of 16Gb (2666MHz) of ram and two 8Gb (3200MHz). The pricing is very similar with just $20 in difference. I mostly play games on my rig. @@pouriyagamer6807 Yep, I did choose them over a pair of 8's in the end. Games can be really demanding nowadays.
16GB: Smoothly movements 4GB: PowerPoint presentation😂
hey , 4 gb is still a bit fast(for minecraft or someting like that).
4 GB would work fine for Minecraft, if you use Linux. On Windows 10 RAM usage is very high and I managed to hit over 2.5GB usage on my laptop with just 8 chunks render distance (and 60FPS at 1080p). So I suggest using Linux if you only play low-end games and for some reason just want 4GB of RAM. Also my Windows 10 uses like 3.6-3.7GB of Ram while I aint doing anything although I am no heavy user (of my small 256GB Nvme drive I only use 51.5GB orso lol). So it is definitely a recommendation to get Linux anyhow unless you got that 12GB or higher amount of RAM. Base advise is still just to use 8 GB if your PC is only for Low-End games. Here is a full-system recommendation if your heaviest thing you do on your PC is Minecraft: i3-9100F 8GB of DDR4-2400Mhz Ram (Dual-Channel) 250GB Nvme SSD from Samsung (get 500GB if you really need that, or higher if you download every storage eating picture/video you see) Radeon RX 570 (integrated graphics should also work) So you should really only do this on a 1080p display if you want high-FPS with shaders on (70-100 but not under 60 Frames, yay), 1440p could be an option if you don't play with any mods.

4 gb is pretty obsolete nowadays unless if you're extremely casual and don't need to play games or produce anything. I believe the minimum is 8 gb. A bit of stuttering on newer games but works well enough for some e-sports titles like csgo or apex. _Don't expect it to run games that require higher ram usage. Just upgrade._ 16 gb is the sweet spot for gamers since it can run newer next-gen games with minimal to no stutters. 32 gb is for streamers who need multiple programs like obs and chrome running on the background or for artists that does heavy work on photoshop. 64 gb is approaching heavy film/animation/music production territory. Definitely overkill for games. And anything higher is overkill for most people unless you're working in really big companies that produce a lot of content. The thing is; Once you reach the optimal ram requirement, adding more won't actually give you more fps. You could upgrade to a faster ram instead and run dual channel.

Minecraft: ok! GTA 5: it doesn't worth it!!!!!
@Treepalds 1 KB ram = your not getting into the game
What you didnt know is that the gaming on 4GB RAM is the highest difficulty level you can play on a game.
I got 4gb
Ive got 8gb
Ive got 2 gb windows xp laptop. should I upgrade?
Shivanshu Verma nah but try not using chrome it uses a lot of ram use firefox
Well then in going from Very Hard to Easy/Normal cuz tomorrow my ram upgraded is supposed to come in hopefully at my PC repair shop that I go to and the guy is gonna upgrade my ram when I'm there. My ram now is 4 gigs dual channel ddr4 but once the upgrade comes in it's gonna be 16 gigs dual channel ddr4.
helped to collect funds for a new computer
Which program do you use to do these benchmarks?
Oh no, I forgot to take some screenshots 4 GB RAM : You can count on me ...
HAHA
Like 1 2 3...
Ill be there
8gb: 58 frames per second 4gb: 8 frames per minute
Dual channel
It’s not all about dual channel the game doesn’t have enough ram to properly function
4gb: 3 frames per sec human: 1 frames per day
pugb 1 fps
Try 4k extreme settings in Forza Horizon 5 it uses more than 16gb system ram and gives you low system memory message box
Now for games you need 32 GB of RAM to calmly play all the popular games + the use of background applications or a lot of tasks
2012: My PC is so slow I wish I had 4GB RAM 2020: I finally have 4GB RAM. My PC is so slow, I wish I had 16GB RAM.
*Laughs in just started building and has 16GB*
Laughs downloading 32gb:v
We need always more hahahah
@BManCave In the future you need to replace it because DDR8 :V
Is 16 not enough ?
4:31 Mission accomplished: reach 30 fps
Hahaha
Thats enough, who needs 12GB??
@@Gameflayr imagine having 8gb ram lol This post was made by 4gb ram users
727 when you see it!!
I have 8 gb on my phone no problem for me lol
Good video! , song?? 😍
It reminded me of the days when I played The Witcher 3 with 4GB of ram at the lowest graphics 720p and 30fps. Note=DDR2 system 2+2.
the 4 gig reminds me of trying to play games on the family potato pc as a kid. I remember playing through entire games with that framerate
When i was a kid,4 GB RAM was a very good, i had only 2
Roblox lol
I love vintage games like Quake, Unreal tournament, Deus ex, etc

4gb ram : I'm still standing Yeah, yeah, yeah 💃
I have one 4gb ram. And my motherboard have 2 slots for ram. So now i want to upgrade it. So if i buy a 8gb ram should i use my 4 gb together mean(8+4) or i use only 8gb?
Surprised they managed to even get some of these games to start up on 4GB's.
The SSD they had stored it on was probably substituting some some of the memory so it could run, albeit much slower than RAM is capable of obviously.
@@adfggffffffddffd You mean the scratch disk? Can't say I'd approve, could wear down the SSD.
@@dcikaruga Yeah, it wears down the SSD, but it'd probably take a long time to be noticable
i cant run shadow of the tomb raider benchmark on ultra with 8gb ram and 8gb cache, it just crashes. this test bring me to old times when i ran battlefield 3 on 1gb ram
@@vadnegru Extend Pagefile/SWAP?

Most PPLs do their budgeting the same way I do so that an 8GB of RAM is not a problem. 1080 resolutions are too many in my view for ESP to play light games like valorant or league. 1366x768 looks great with 4x MSAA. I can make a setup worth 20k PHP (400$) with 8GB RAM only so the rest of the budget won't affect the other components will end up buying cheap performance cpu/gpu
