Climate Change is a devisive topic, but one we must face head on before it's too late. We have solutions, and one we need to vastly pay more attention to is Nuclear.

  • Thank you for this presentation. I am not against nuclear energy but it is best used for unique reasons. If fusion works that's great. Fission has problems. The question of enough fuel for safe fission is debatable. My take is that solar, wind, and hydro/thermal* have won the race...given a level playing field. Your overnight cost comparison only covers nuclear and fossil fuels. SolarSage uses a Lazard Levelized Cost analysis. Their findings suggest that: "the cost per kilowatt (KW) for utility-scale solar is less than $1,000, while the comparable cost per KW for nuclear power is between $6,500 and $12,250". As sun, wind, and hydro/thermal* are free, decentralization is the future. * hydro/thermal: waves, tides pumped storage, hydroelectric, earth tempered, and deep well thermal.

  • Why should this be aimed solely to the western world? Blame the Eastern world for not caring...

  • You need to look at two technologies that could change everything. First is Hydrogen Fuel Cell. The power and ecology of an electric with the convenience of an internal combustion engine. Second is Fusion , The process that happens in a star. 100% clean, renewable energy. A fusion reactor in England did the holy grail of generation when it out put more energy than it took in. A huge breakthrough. Both are still decades away. But they will get here. I enjoyed the video. As usual well though out and presented.
