  • "You can look healthy, look fit, look young, but have havoc going on inside". This resonates with me a lot. I thought I was healthy and fit and I was pretty young. I was training in the gym 4 days a week, powerlifting and strongman workouts. Ate well, never touched recreational drugs or steroids, hardly drank alcohol, didn't smoke. But one day I just couldn't keep weight on. I generally hovered around the 85-88kg mark, but no matter what I did, I just lost weight. Got blood tests done and my LFT were through the roof and it turned out I have a rare form of liver disease and also IBD to go along with it. 2-2.5 years later, I'm only just starting to get back into working out, but it's still hard. When things were bad at the beginning I lost 20+kg in only a few weeks and even now I'm hovering around 70-72kg. The gym is one of my passions, but the last few years have been harder than ever. Do not take your health for granted. Now to watch the rest of the video.

    • I feel you on this. 2 years ago, I was in a coma due to having meningitis and encephalitis. Prior to this, I was training 6 days a week eating clean 9 out of 10 meals. Cardio EVERYDAY and overnight, I nearly had my life taken away from me. Its only been the last month or so that I've managed to get back into the gym. To add, I was in a coma for 5days, in those 5 days I lost 10kg in weight, and it took me 6months to gain that 10kg again due to not training or working due to being signed off from my job because of risk of further complications. Hope you're getting better and I agree done take health for granted.

  • The real thing to look at with blood pressure is the MAP number. 60-100 MAP is considered good perfusion. Under 60 and the organs arent being profused properly and above 100 then damage can start. Mostly when its chronically higher than 100. Systolic and diastolic are important yes but with an asterisk depending on if the body is at rest or working. Context is everything when it comes to it. Cheers to good health to all.

Eddie, when measuring B12 levels you need to make sure you haven't had any B12 injections/supplements for a minimum of 4 months before getting your bloods done. This also includes avoiding fortified foods with B12 in them like marmite etc. Otherwise you will get a false high.

My only observation is that you can get all the good quailty omega 3 from algal oil (that's where the fish get it from). Just search vegan algal oil omega 3 on your preferred online shopping outlet and you will see. ALSO! Make sure your O3 has DHA, that's the difficult part.... If you look at the s**tty Omega capules in the supermarket, they will have minimal DHA content. Algae FTW! ❤
