i dont like it at all, it feels like they're ignoring all the actual attempts to make the characters develop and while yes, Season 16 for example jumped the shark quite a bit it still stuck the landing in the end with Season 17. I really hope this isn't a full retcon because I'm honestly a fan of 15-17 and like what it tried to do even if it always didn't work. I especially have a soft spot for 15 since it is what got me into the show. I can do without Zero though, that shit is ass

I hope he uses that skill to at least make it so the characters know or somehow inherit the "Memories" of these simulations (S14-19) so that the character archs and character moments from these seasons arent just fully lost. Donut finally embracing his pink armor, +everyone respecting him. Tucker and Kaikaina developing a friendship and maybe a budding romance. Caboose coming to terms with Churchs death, everyone understanding Wash's sacrifice by letting himself get shot in the neck for their sakes plus his further development with Carolina, Wash's newfound close friendship with donut (Born from them accidentally time traveling to when Wash shot him over and over like 20 times, ITS COMEDY GOLD) and Grif and Kaikaina finally making up with each other in the Labrynth where Grif finally admits he wasnt drafted and actually abandoned Sis and their mom to try and better himself away from them, and sis apologizing for accidentally burning their childhood house down because she was lonely after grif left and playing with fire (And also her cutting herself) Plus a bunch of other little nuggets like grif learning how much he needs the reds and blues, grif and simmons reunion and admitting how much they need each other, and Locus turning to the light side and both befriending grif and following in Wash and Carolina's footsteps on the path to redemption. These moments will all be lost unless theres some workaround where church somehow beams these memories from the simulations into the other characters heads. Also side note, im actually pleased as punch that RvB is going to finally end but on Halo Infinite. Now theyve used every single game and not only come full circle with Burnie starting AND finishing the show, but also ending the show on Halo Infinite - a soft reboot of Halo CE where it all began. Its high time things come full circle - ill finally be able to accept this story ending and move on.

going to be honest i cant see them NOT making it first membership, from what i understand RT is kind of burning down, Warner Bros is not seeing the return on investment they wanted and last i heard back in janurary RT admitted that they haven't even got the green lightfor a season 10 of RWBY. which is a big deal considering that is their strongest IP, couple with a shit ton of lay offs these past couple of years, Red Vs blue being driven into irrelevancy after the Chorus trilogy and warner bros having their own bombs with their recent movies costing nearly half a billion lost between black adam and the flash. im pretty confident in saying that the heads of RT know if they dont have a lot of time before David Zaslav pulls the funding on RTand they need a big win fast. this probably how Burnie burns got creative control of the season even going so far as to allow him to retcon everything that was done after he left the company in short.........no way in hell is RT going to let you get anywhere close to seeing this without paying

Honestly resetting post season 13 is a smart move as outside season 15 it's really tricky to continue with the story when you full on introduce time travel as a story element in this type of show, shame some good moments are gone but overall I'm interested in how this will end Also like zero reference, wasn't that looks shit, just church thought it looked cooler and yeah some fights did look cool

This why I think it's pretty much a genius move. Technically, they don't deny that everything past S13 did happened. It happened, maybe in a simulation but that doesn't mean it's not interesting either, you can see it as a "side canon"

While I think that the retcon is the right move, the gang recollecting their time on the island to Dylan is one of my favorite parts of Red Vs Blue (although not top 5). If we remember anything from the simulation seasons, it should be that scene. Caboose: “I miss Church.” Dylan: “You mean the Epsilon AI?” Tucker: “No, he means Church!” Always gets me.

I'm super excited by this and I think making the last 4 simulations could work. Obviously I think there is the idea that if Epsilon used that story as simulations to give his friends a future, is there some form of it that's real? Could we get some answers for 3-5 that kinda lean in the " time travel real " camp that would fix the last few seasons and kind if show how Burnie would have addressed it? What is this lost memory? Why would church use simulations based on impossible ideas? I just hope it's a good conclusion to this amazing show?

I think they will retain a lot of what happened in the simulations. Epsilon is going through all those sims to train everyone mentally. It would defeat the purpose of all that if none of the sims made it to everyone's minds.

The thing I will give to the Shisno Paradox is that it really did the characters justice. They gave a LOT of development to Grif, Donut, Wash and Carolina where they hadn't gotten it before, and I really appreciated that. I wish we could have gotten all of that without the completely out there story line because Donut had been a punching bag and a walking joke for YEARS and it was nice to see him step up and become actually important to the story and the main cast again. Him and Caboose came in at the same time and where Caboose became a fan favorite, Donut never got that attention. He was just there to be the funny "is he gay?" joke or make an innuendo and that's it.

Part of me wonders if they'll kill Caboose in that room on Chorus, Burnie could've even written that the reason one scenario(the one with the Blues and Reds and Caboose getting to say goodbye) was Church trying his best to cope with the fact he never got to say a proper goodbye to Caboose, therefore creating this scenario where he did get to say goodbye to Caboose. Obviously Burnie would never do this and there's a reason why I'm not a writer, because that's a terrible idea. But I could genuinely see it working as an excuse to Joel no longer being around to voice Caboose, and why that season was a scenario for the red and blues, because Church was so distraught one of his best friends had been killed and to cope with it he created the scenario of Caboose being able to say goodbye to also put Church at peace.

I also thought of the possibility of just killing off Caboose since Joel left. However, they have replaced his voice for Death Battle and QvsA. If they wanted to keep Caboose around, maybe they could have him shot in the throat similar to The Meta. Then he would undergo a surgery to fix his voice as Chorus' way of thanking him for his service kinda like Wash; except Caboose's voice would have to change as a result. That way, Caboose can still be around and the new guy can continue voicing him. I know that might break continuity established by season 9 and borrows from Zero, but I'd like to think that some of the alien tech on Chorus might be able to make it plausible. I could totally see Church look at that and apply it to Wash in the Zero simulation out of inspiration. Ofc I know that they've probably got a plan in regards to Caboose. I just think that both killing him or have him switch voices with an in-canon injury would be fun ideas. I guess we'll have to wait and see what they've done with him.

I think your theory is the more likely of the two if either were to happen, and I truly do hope if either happens it's yours because it would also tie into the canon like you said with him pulling it from Wash's experience. I'm just worried that with it being the final season anything can happen now. It's all up to Burnie.

I am definately hopeful for this. It's great that Burnie Burns is back at the helm and actually leading this one. He has been one of the hearts and souls of RvB and RT as a whole since the beginning (not the only one but one of the main ones). Burnie did come back to reprise his role as Tailang from RWBY in Volume 9 recently so I figured he was back in some capacity. The fact that they are retconning the seasons after Chorus as "simulations" is the best kind of retcon they can do without completely destroying the canon entirely. And yes the way Sigma is addressing Epsilon is a huge nod to the fans. It shows that RT are holding themselves accountable and want to make an sendoff that does the show right. In regards to Joel not coming back. I think they can easily work around this. They just need someone with a good enough voice impression of Caboose to make it work. I'm sure at the least Burnie has that figured out. Either way, I'm looking forward to seeing what they do and how it's gonna end.

As someone who's found a lot to love throughout the now retconned seasons, from Caboose's journey through grieving to acceptance to Carolina's growth to becoming a more stable person who's tired of participating in violence (which, tbh, is my biggest issue with Zero out of everything that's going on in Zero) I have just. So many complicated feelings about all of that going away and being written off

For me it's entirely dependent on if the rest of the cast get a good amount of focus and screentime. If they do, I'll learn to live with it the same way I learned to live with singularity being the end. If not, then I'm probably going to ignore it on rewatches and end on Singularity, just like Zero.

Its very bitterweet for me. On one hand, this show has been part of my life for nearly 15 years now, watching it with my dad was how we bonded, quoting lines became an inside joke with my brother, I met some of my best friends from talking about RvB, andd the humor helped me through some really dark periods. However, I know all things must end, and I think this is the best possible way it could. Burnie coming back to put it to rest, removing some of the mistakes that drove the show to where it is now, Zero being removed in its entirety, I don't think there is a better situation for the show to be laid to rest. Also, in the words of TFS Alucard "Nobody ruined your childhood. The show you loved is STILL on dvd."

Im excited to see this final season, the prologue got me hyped and seeing all the theories on Reddit and talking to people about it has been fun. I jumped in on this band wagon that is Rvb at the end of its ride only watching it around 4 months ago…sad I didn’t find it sooner cause I absolutely love this show! This may be RvB's final season, but i have a feeling the show wont be gone for long. Though, i kind of wished we got a RvB & RWBY crossover before it ended. Afterall, Monty worked on both shows and i'm willing to bet he would've eventually pitched the idea of a crossover between the two shows if he was still around.

They could also remake or reboot RvB, we sort of got a glimpse of what that would like at the end of S16 when the timeline broke. This would allow the showrunners to go back and fix things that didn't work in the past and do things they weren't able to before.

this the reason, why i like red vs blue. if i felt like something weak in a season, i feel its improved in the next season. for example if you didn't like the lieutenants in season 12, there barely in season 13. season 16 too much about jokes, not about plot, 17 the reverse. season 2 plot too disconnect, 3 is more connected. i feel that more shows should be like rvb in this way.

And judging by the general reactions, including my own, even with that ol' piss poor excuse and the show that very famously said "memory is the key" there is a LOT of us who would be glad to have the last several seasons expunged from our collective memories and start over. And I say that doubtful if I will ever even bother watching Zero, which I haven't yet. If you had asked me a few months ago, if I would ever watch a new season of RvB, I'd have said no. And I would have no guess what would have worked to get me to watch it. The answer was this - this whole package - neither less, nor more. Just simply perfection. Now all there is left is to see whether it will actually be able to live up to the hype. My fingers are crossed at least, and I will be watching all of it.

perfect time for me to rewatch red vs blue ive been meaning to for a while but never really felt incentivized till now. this will probably be my first time watching the series as it airs live i guess

I was like 7 when I first started watching this show 10 years ago. Thank god for that unrestricted YT access that my parents didn’t know I had cause Red Vs Blue has literally been my childhood (for better or worse) and my teenage years. One of my EARLIEST memories is watching the Tex vs Reds + Blues fight and wondering what it was. Now I’m probably going to college to get a double major degree. One in arts (primarily animation) and the other in computer science (primarily game design). Both of my main interests come from this show and I’m so excited to attempt to make something of my own in the future. Idk when Restoration is going to come out but I’ll most definitely be an adult by the time it ends. Thank you Red vs Blue for defining my childhood and who I am today, I’ll miss you.

One thing makes me hopeful for this, and that is Burnie. Retconning seasons 14 on is a good step but it wouldn't suggest in and of itself that things will be good, BUT BURNIE now that's something that makes me happy. This is THE man that made the show, that developed it into the giant it now cowers before, and this is the man that has SO MUCH PASSION for the show that he is volunteering in his retirement to send it off with a bang.

I am so very conflicted, especially as caboose was my favourite character. I still feel like the end of season 15 was a perfect end for his character as he comes to terms with the fact that the only thing he wanted for the whole show(a best friend) was gone now. And I can’t see them replacing his vo either, I really don’t like the new one they have tried to use. I’ll probably still watch this season though but if it doesn’t capture the old show then I’m going to just be sad a lot.

I'm hoping that bernie is still on good terms with cabooses voice actor, so, (assuming the reds and blues are in this season.) It won't have to be different. Since the falling out happened while Bernie was sorta MIA, I think it could be a possibility. But I think there's a lot we just won't know till it comes out this fall. I'm really hyped to see what comes of this season, but also nervous since it's been basically a decade since bernie has written for rvb.

I never thought about the “endings” like that - there really is multiple stopping points in seasons where u can just stop watching and that’d be the end for the show sometimes questions wouldn’t be answered but that’s how it usually is

Yeah, I am very excited to see where exactly this will go. I do hope that Sister does get a sizable role in it like she did in Season 16 and 17 because she was pretty great in those seasons. I also do wonder what are they going to do with Caboose because for all we know, Joel isn't coming back. Will they show him getting hit in the neck and that makes him sound different similar to how they explained Leonardo's voice changing in the 2012 TMNT series?

I'm both excited and...not at the same time. For reference, I'm 20. This series is literally as old as me and I've loved it since the day I was old enough to watch it. I've grown up watching this, grown very attached to the characters, and I'm just...not so sure how I feel about it coming to an actual end. It just feels weird. And yes Church has always been and will always be my favorite character.

Y'know, this doesn't necessarily retcon everything after S13. It just means that are all possible futures as predicted by Epsilon. Don't get me wrong, the latest seasons weren't great (especially zero), but there were moments I enjoyed.

Not gonna lie, they have a very tall tall tall order to fill. As season 13 was just as good as 10 so to try and bring the show back into a positive light is going to be tough. unlike when they were rising from nothing, this time they are trying to rise from a fallen reputation on the thinnest of threads to truly match the expectations of what we know theyre capable of while also doing this as a 20th anniversary, I do hope they bring Joel back for this final season, it would be beyond amazing to have the original cast back

The only thing that is quite sad about the retcon is soo many genuinely good moments (however a few & far between they are) that are now rendered mute like Washington & Carolina, Tucker & Sister, that pink armoured chick & her father’s family relationship was also somewhat interesting enough that I actually was interested enough to want to at least see what RT would do with it going forward & also all of the extra scenes from season 14 that actually helped to fill in the blanks across both of the entire bloodgulch chronicles & the chorus trilogy seasons of RvB.. I at least hope that season 14 isn’t retconned since it’s the only season post Chorus Trilogy that doesn’t actually chronologically take place after season 13..

I'm very mixed on this trailer. On one hand I love that Burnie is coming back to write and the overall premise seems very interesting and I'm not against seeing what they can do with it. That would be all I'd have to say if it wasn't for the "retcon" thing. I'm not 100% sure if it's a full wipe or if these events could still happen, but to me the idea of pretending like Seasons 15-17 didn't happen is...pretty bad. I know many didn't like those seasons but I honestly did enjoy them and have continued to overtime, maybe half of that is nostalgia but I still love so many of the choices there. Tucker's arc in Season 15, Grif's quit and return, Temple being a unique and solid villain (imo), Sister's return, and basically everything with Donut and Wash's characters throughout those seasons, they're amazing. I really, really don't want this retcon to be true as to me it erases some really honest stories that shouldn't just be shoved off as a writer just doing whatever he wants with RvB. Joe and Jason did jump the shark with the gods and a lot of stuff in Season 16, but I feel that's really the worst they did and in the end it was fixed with Season 17.

Red vs Blue has and will always be my favourite show. So learning that it's coming to a close with Burnie back gives me hope that will end with high note as the series should have. The show shaped me to who I am today and I will always hold it dear to me and I am glad that it is ending like this. Watching this series was the best decision 12 year old me with unsupervised internet could have done. Can't wait to see it.

Definitely a massive course correction versus what the end of season 18 promised. Looks like Burnie himself is stepping back in to make sure things go out on a high note. I am hopeful again. Not really a fan of the "it was all a dream" trope especially since RvB already played that card at least once. But given what we're told we're getting in exchange it will be worth it if they pull it off. Caboose has gotten a new VA in a couple of the PSAs I think. So it is likely his new VA will fill the role. That move makes a lot more sense if he IS coming back.
I love how the second Burnie comes back, everything after he left was essentially a dream sequence 😂

i dont like it at all, it feels like they're ignoring all the actual attempts to make the characters develop and while yes, Season 16 for example jumped the shark quite a bit it still stuck the landing in the end with Season 17. I really hope this isn't a full retcon because I'm honestly a fan of 15-17 and like what it tried to do even if it always didn't work. I especially have a soft spot for 15 since it is what got me into the show. I can do without Zero though, that shit is ass

IF there's one thing that Burnie can write it's retcons. The man's a pro at 'em. This final season will be gold I can feel it
I hope he uses that skill to at least make it so the characters know or somehow inherit the "Memories" of these simulations (S14-19) so that the character archs and character moments from these seasons arent just fully lost. Donut finally embracing his pink armor, +everyone respecting him. Tucker and Kaikaina developing a friendship and maybe a budding romance. Caboose coming to terms with Churchs death, everyone understanding Wash's sacrifice by letting himself get shot in the neck for their sakes plus his further development with Carolina, Wash's newfound close friendship with donut (Born from them accidentally time traveling to when Wash shot him over and over like 20 times, ITS COMEDY GOLD) and Grif and Kaikaina finally making up with each other in the Labrynth where Grif finally admits he wasnt drafted and actually abandoned Sis and their mom to try and better himself away from them, and sis apologizing for accidentally burning their childhood house down because she was lonely after grif left and playing with fire (And also her cutting herself) Plus a bunch of other little nuggets like grif learning how much he needs the reds and blues, grif and simmons reunion and admitting how much they need each other, and Locus turning to the light side and both befriending grif and following in Wash and Carolina's footsteps on the path to redemption. These moments will all be lost unless theres some workaround where church somehow beams these memories from the simulations into the other characters heads. Also side note, im actually pleased as punch that RvB is going to finally end but on Halo Infinite. Now theyve used every single game and not only come full circle with Burnie starting AND finishing the show, but also ending the show on Halo Infinite - a soft reboot of Halo CE where it all began. Its high time things come full circle - ill finally be able to accept this story ending and move on.

going to be honest i cant see them NOT making it first membership, from what i understand RT is kind of burning down, Warner Bros is not seeing the return on investment they wanted and last i heard back in janurary RT admitted that they haven't even got the green lightfor a season 10 of RWBY. which is a big deal considering that is their strongest IP, couple with a shit ton of lay offs these past couple of years, Red Vs blue being driven into irrelevancy after the Chorus trilogy and warner bros having their own bombs with their recent movies costing nearly half a billion lost between black adam and the flash. im pretty confident in saying that the heads of RT know if they dont have a lot of time before David Zaslav pulls the funding on RTand they need a big win fast. this probably how Burnie burns got creative control of the season even going so far as to allow him to retcon everything that was done after he left the company in short.........no way in hell is RT going to let you get anywhere close to seeing this without paying
To be honest this is the most excited I’ve been for red vs blue in a long time. I hope they stick the landing with this final season.
They’re gonna give it their all. This is an absolute finale with no continuation of the series that not only kickstarted their company but created halo machinima. It’ll probably be their highest effort production using everything they’ve learned over the years.
I think it’s good that the show is coming to an end, as sad as it is, there are newer takes on it that seem to be really good so far

While I think that the retcon is the right move, the gang recollecting their time on the island to Dylan is one of my favorite parts of Red Vs Blue (although not top 5). If we remember anything from the simulation seasons, it should be that scene. Caboose: “I miss Church.” Dylan: “You mean the Epsilon AI?” Tucker: “No, he means Church!” Always gets me.
I'm super excited by this and I think making the last 4 simulations could work. Obviously I think there is the idea that if Epsilon used that story as simulations to give his friends a future, is there some form of it that's real? Could we get some answers for 3-5 that kinda lean in the " time travel real " camp that would fix the last few seasons and kind if show how Burnie would have addressed it? What is this lost memory? Why would church use simulations based on impossible ideas? I just hope it's a good conclusion to this amazing show?

I think they will retain a lot of what happened in the simulations. Epsilon is going through all those sims to train everyone mentally. It would defeat the purpose of all that if none of the sims made it to everyone's minds.
The thing I will give to the Shisno Paradox is that it really did the characters justice. They gave a LOT of development to Grif, Donut, Wash and Carolina where they hadn't gotten it before, and I really appreciated that. I wish we could have gotten all of that without the completely out there story line because Donut had been a punching bag and a walking joke for YEARS and it was nice to see him step up and become actually important to the story and the main cast again. Him and Caboose came in at the same time and where Caboose became a fan favorite, Donut never got that attention. He was just there to be the funny "is he gay?" joke or make an innuendo and that's it.
Part of me wonders if they'll kill Caboose in that room on Chorus, Burnie could've even written that the reason one scenario(the one with the Blues and Reds and Caboose getting to say goodbye) was Church trying his best to cope with the fact he never got to say a proper goodbye to Caboose, therefore creating this scenario where he did get to say goodbye to Caboose. Obviously Burnie would never do this and there's a reason why I'm not a writer, because that's a terrible idea. But I could genuinely see it working as an excuse to Joel no longer being around to voice Caboose, and why that season was a scenario for the red and blues, because Church was so distraught one of his best friends had been killed and to cope with it he created the scenario of Caboose being able to say goodbye to also put Church at peace.
I also thought of the possibility of just killing off Caboose since Joel left. However, they have replaced his voice for Death Battle and QvsA. If they wanted to keep Caboose around, maybe they could have him shot in the throat similar to The Meta. Then he would undergo a surgery to fix his voice as Chorus' way of thanking him for his service kinda like Wash; except Caboose's voice would have to change as a result. That way, Caboose can still be around and the new guy can continue voicing him. I know that might break continuity established by season 9 and borrows from Zero, but I'd like to think that some of the alien tech on Chorus might be able to make it plausible. I could totally see Church look at that and apply it to Wash in the Zero simulation out of inspiration. Ofc I know that they've probably got a plan in regards to Caboose. I just think that both killing him or have him switch voices with an in-canon injury would be fun ideas. I guess we'll have to wait and see what they've done with him.

I think your theory is the more likely of the two if either were to happen, and I truly do hope if either happens it's yours because it would also tie into the canon like you said with him pulling it from Wash's experience. I'm just worried that with it being the final season anything can happen now. It's all up to Burnie.

I am definately hopeful for this. It's great that Burnie Burns is back at the helm and actually leading this one. He has been one of the hearts and souls of RvB and RT as a whole since the beginning (not the only one but one of the main ones). Burnie did come back to reprise his role as Tailang from RWBY in Volume 9 recently so I figured he was back in some capacity. The fact that they are retconning the seasons after Chorus as "simulations" is the best kind of retcon they can do without completely destroying the canon entirely. And yes the way Sigma is addressing Epsilon is a huge nod to the fans. It shows that RT are holding themselves accountable and want to make an sendoff that does the show right. In regards to Joel not coming back. I think they can easily work around this. They just need someone with a good enough voice impression of Caboose to make it work. I'm sure at the least Burnie has that figured out. Either way, I'm looking forward to seeing what they do and how it's gonna end.

As someone who's found a lot to love throughout the now retconned seasons, from Caboose's journey through grieving to acceptance to Carolina's growth to becoming a more stable person who's tired of participating in violence (which, tbh, is my biggest issue with Zero out of everything that's going on in Zero) I have just. So many complicated feelings about all of that going away and being written off
For me it's entirely dependent on if the rest of the cast get a good amount of focus and screentime. If they do, I'll learn to live with it the same way I learned to live with singularity being the end. If not, then I'm probably going to ignore it on rewatches and end on Singularity, just like Zero.

I know the recent seasons weren't the best but I don't know how I feel about retconning them all. There were some questionable choices made but we also got some key character development for characters like Grif, Donut, Wash, and Carolina. Here's to hoping Burnie closes this show with the ending it deserves.

Well we still got the same investment into the lesser developed characters and see their personalities, although the development they had isn't the same, we still know more about their personality now even though the episodes are retconned

Its very bitterweet for me. On one hand, this show has been part of my life for nearly 15 years now, watching it with my dad was how we bonded, quoting lines became an inside joke with my brother, I met some of my best friends from talking about RvB, andd the humor helped me through some really dark periods. However, I know all things must end, and I think this is the best possible way it could. Burnie coming back to put it to rest, removing some of the mistakes that drove the show to where it is now, Zero being removed in its entirety, I don't think there is a better situation for the show to be laid to rest. Also, in the words of TFS Alucard "Nobody ruined your childhood. The show you loved is STILL on dvd."
It's been a true journey... good moments, now memories. Eveything has to come to an end, for the worse like the better. So let's be excited for this final season !

It’s so. It’s just. Man I saw red vs blue like a year or two after first finding KZhead. I think I actually started around season 11 or 10 after finding halo machinima and playing reach with friends. They mean a lot to me and I’m. Content it ending.

I started in the reconstruction era I remember the editing being phenomenal, the Directors last speech was BARS, he was "Connection Terminated" Ten years before Connection Terminated was even a thing. and when season 8 rolled around, episode 4 thats when I KNEW I was witnessing a masterpiece.
I loved the Freelancer and the Chorus arc but I am going to miss RvB now that its coming to can end. The memories will continue to live on still Caboose isn't Caboose without him so my fingers are crossed but my hopes aren't too high either

Im excited to see this final season, the prologue got me hyped and seeing all the theories on Reddit and talking to people about it has been fun. I jumped in on this band wagon that is Rvb at the end of its ride only watching it around 4 months ago…sad I didn’t find it sooner cause I absolutely love this show! Maybe I can’t really say much as some others who grew up with the show but I can’t wait to see it end, I got genuine hope it’ll go out in one hell of a bang

This may be RvB's final season, but i have a feeling the show wont be gone for long. Though, i kind of wished we got a RvB & RWBY crossover before it ended. Afterall, Monty worked on both shows and i'm willing to bet he would've eventually pitched the idea of a crossover between the two shows if he was still around.
While the series will end, I don't doubt we'll get special episodes or crossovers from time to time. That might just be copeium talking, but that's all we'll have left once the dust settles lol
Perhaps what might happen is that the OG RvB will end (end of an era) and a new spin-off series with a completely different cast and crew will start. Marking an entirely new era for new watchers.

They could also remake or reboot RvB, we sort of got a glimpse of what that would like at the end of S16 when the timeline broke. This would allow the showrunners to go back and fix things that didn't work in the past and do things they weren't able to before.

this the reason, why i like red vs blue. if i felt like something weak in a season, i feel its improved in the next season. for example if you didn't like the lieutenants in season 12, there barely in season 13. season 16 too much about jokes, not about plot, 17 the reverse. season 2 plot too disconnect, 3 is more connected. i feel that more shows should be like rvb in this way.

Honestly, it needs to happen more with some franchises.
And judging by the general reactions, including my own, even with that ol' piss poor excuse and the show that very famously said "memory is the key" there is a LOT of us who would be glad to have the last several seasons expunged from our collective memories and start over. And I say that doubtful if I will ever even bother watching Zero, which I haven't yet. If you had asked me a few months ago, if I would ever watch a new season of RvB, I'd have said no. And I would have no guess what would have worked to get me to watch it. The answer was this - this whole package - neither less, nor more. Just simply perfection. Now all there is left is to see whether it will actually be able to live up to the hype. My fingers are crossed at least, and I will be watching all of it.
yeah, losing the bits of character development we got for basically everyone during 15-17 is a bit of a shame, but that sacrifice will probably be worth it for season 19, and hopefully make up for the nightmarish spaghetti that was this arc

I agree completely, whether you're a fan of the Shisno trilogy or not you have to admit that those are seasons of the show and they did happen, erasing that all just feels like a waste of 3 years of honest RvB.

This is honestly great news, and I'm surprised it took me over a month to find this. My only hope is that Joel returns for the voice of Caboose. I know there are reasons why he can't do the voice now, however at the same time his voice is just so iconic. Or at least they could have someone in who can actually do the Caboose voice.

I was like 7 when I first started watching this show 10 years ago. Thank god for that unrestricted YT access that my parents didn’t know I had cause Red Vs Blue has literally been my childhood (for better or worse) and my teenage years. One of my EARLIEST memories is watching the Tex vs Reds + Blues fight and wondering what it was. Now I’m probably going to college to get a double major degree. One in arts (primarily animation) and the other in computer science (primarily game design). Both of my main interests come from this show and I’m so excited to attempt to make something of my own in the future. Idk when Restoration is going to come out but I’ll most definitely be an adult by the time it ends. Thank you Red vs Blue for defining my childhood and who I am today, I’ll miss you.
One thing makes me hopeful for this, and that is Burnie. Retconning seasons 14 on is a good step but it wouldn't suggest in and of itself that things will be good, BUT BURNIE now that's something that makes me happy. This is THE man that made the show, that developed it into the giant it now cowers before, and this is the man that has SO MUCH PASSION for the show that he is volunteering in his retirement to send it off with a bang.
I am so very conflicted, especially as caboose was my favourite character. I still feel like the end of season 15 was a perfect end for his character as he comes to terms with the fact that the only thing he wanted for the whole show(a best friend) was gone now. And I can’t see them replacing his vo either, I really don’t like the new one they have tried to use. I’ll probably still watch this season though but if it doesn’t capture the old show then I’m going to just be sad a lot.

I'm hoping that bernie is still on good terms with cabooses voice actor, so, (assuming the reds and blues are in this season.) It won't have to be different. Since the falling out happened while Bernie was sorta MIA, I think it could be a possibility. But I think there's a lot we just won't know till it comes out this fall. I'm really hyped to see what comes of this season, but also nervous since it's been basically a decade since bernie has written for rvb.
I doubt Joel will be included, even if Bernie is cool with him, Joel is no longer welcome around RT

I never thought about the “endings” like that - there really is multiple stopping points in seasons where u can just stop watching and that’d be the end for the show sometimes questions wouldn’t be answered but that’s how it usually is
It’s ending on KZhead as well, as of now S2-5 and S9-15 have been removed, with more likely on the way. RvB is leaving YT and I’ve got no idea why.

Yeah, I am very excited to see where exactly this will go. I do hope that Sister does get a sizable role in it like she did in Season 16 and 17 because she was pretty great in those seasons. I also do wonder what are they going to do with Caboose because for all we know, Joel isn't coming back. Will they show him getting hit in the neck and that makes him sound different similar to how they explained Leonardo's voice changing in the 2012 TMNT series?

I'm both excited and...not at the same time. For reference, I'm 20. This series is literally as old as me and I've loved it since the day I was old enough to watch it. I've grown up watching this, grown very attached to the characters, and I'm just...not so sure how I feel about it coming to an actual end. It just feels weird. And yes Church has always been and will always be my favorite character.

Y'know, this doesn't necessarily retcon everything after S13. It just means that are all possible futures as predicted by Epsilon. Don't get me wrong, the latest seasons weren't great (especially zero), but there were moments I enjoyed.
Retconned. Get over it. The REAL writer and creators are back to fix this, and finally give it the rest it has desperately needed for these many seasons of garbage.

Not gonna lie, they have a very tall tall tall order to fill. As season 13 was just as good as 10 so to try and bring the show back into a positive light is going to be tough. unlike when they were rising from nothing, this time they are trying to rise from a fallen reputation on the thinnest of threads to truly match the expectations of what we know theyre capable of while also doing this as a 20th anniversary, I do hope they bring Joel back for this final season, it would be beyond amazing to have the original cast back

It's sad to see the ending of something that grew with people, but to end it with the man behind it all it's a big move and a great way to respect the fans. I'm looking forward to see this season. As for Caboose's voice, I hope RT can find in their hearts a chance to bring the original voice actor back, for one last season...
Say what you will about season 14 onward (i certainly have), i really liked the scene with wash asking the rest of the cast to be there with him when he gets hurt.
I genuinely forgot that it was still going after season like 15 or whatever. Haven't watched since early 14. Now, I'm doing a full rewatch with my girlfriend and she's so far really enjoyed it. I never throught I'd get closure on this series. Now we will. I'm pumped!

It's been so long since I've heard you say red vs blue. Brought back memories. I hope that's not weird. I'm excited for this final season. I don't mind them making 15-Zero just a simulation. I feel that kind of excuses all the out of charcater things that happened. Doesn't make them unwatchable, there just like season 9 now. Just, some dumb fun seasons.
If they do retcon the seasons after seasons 13, I think I'm gonna miss some of the character beats we got. The seasons weren't perfect, but it wasn't all terrible. Also, the "fight" in the season 13 finale we didn't see, I still thinks works best when we didn't see it!
I loved rvb to season 13 then afterwards I lost the want to watch it but now I’m happy i can pick up after hearing this news and watch this season.
It will be kind of sad but at the same time I'll kind of glad I'm gonna get to see this series finale. I only recently got into the show and taking advice I didn't see any of the stuff past Church's sacrifice (well maybe a few episodes & clips just for the funzies) so for me...this will feel like a natural progression.
The only thing that is quite sad about the retcon is soo many genuinely good moments (however a few & far between they are) that are now rendered mute like Washington & Carolina, Tucker & Sister, that pink armoured chick & her father’s family relationship was also somewhat interesting enough that I actually was interested enough to want to at least see what RT would do with it going forward & also all of the extra scenes from season 14 that actually helped to fill in the blanks across both of the entire bloodgulch chronicles & the chorus trilogy seasons of RvB.. I at least hope that season 14 isn’t retconned since it’s the only season post Chorus Trilogy that doesn’t actually chronologically take place after season 13..
Given that I pretty much dropped out of watching RvB after Chorus, it'll be interesting potentially coming back to see it end as if I'm not actually missing anything. That said, I think there's a case to be made that Red Vs Blue kind of 'ended' years ago and now they're just making it official.

I'm very mixed on this trailer. On one hand I love that Burnie is coming back to write and the overall premise seems very interesting and I'm not against seeing what they can do with it. That would be all I'd have to say if it wasn't for the "retcon" thing. I'm not 100% sure if it's a full wipe or if these events could still happen, but to me the idea of pretending like Seasons 15-17 didn't happen is...pretty bad. I know many didn't like those seasons but I honestly did enjoy them and have continued to overtime, maybe half of that is nostalgia but I still love so many of the choices there. Tucker's arc in Season 15, Grif's quit and return, Temple being a unique and solid villain (imo), Sister's return, and basically everything with Donut and Wash's characters throughout those seasons, they're amazing. I really, really don't want this retcon to be true as to me it erases some really honest stories that shouldn't just be shoved off as a writer just doing whatever he wants with RvB. Joe and Jason did jump the shark with the gods and a lot of stuff in Season 16, but I feel that's really the worst they did and in the end it was fixed with Season 17.

Red vs Blue has and will always be my favourite show. So learning that it's coming to a close with Burnie back gives me hope that will end with high note as the series should have. The show shaped me to who I am today and I will always hold it dear to me and I am glad that it is ending like this. Watching this series was the best decision 12 year old me with unsupervised internet could have done. Can't wait to see it.

I can't believe they making a final season for rvb. It was my favorite show ever. I hope they keep going with pst or whatever shorts and side shows as I judt love the show that much but still I'm surprised they ending it and I can't wait fir the full season to come out.
Definitely a massive course correction versus what the end of season 18 promised. Looks like Burnie himself is stepping back in to make sure things go out on a high note. I am hopeful again. Not really a fan of the "it was all a dream" trope especially since RvB already played that card at least once. But given what we're told we're getting in exchange it will be worth it if they pull it off. Caboose has gotten a new VA in a couple of the PSAs I think. So it is likely his new VA will fill the role. That move makes a lot more sense if he IS coming back.
