Wanted to say I enjoy your videos, but really enjoy you being able to work with your father and seeing the interaction. I lost mine not to long ago, brings back good memories. Enjoy it while you can.
Yeah we are both so lucky. Really we have a lot of fun and I hope I get to spend the same quality time with my son someday
Yeah at the end when that high pitched " eh eh what's it doing eh eh what it's leaking eh!!" Reminds me of my ole man. I had to laugh!! Great memories made thanks for sharing brother!!
as a man of a certain age, it does my heart good to see young men who care. i have spent decades saving old machinery and it is a comfort to know the treasures of our modern times will be in good hands when we can no longer turn the wrench. i feel the baton is being passed. best wishes.
Thanks Russ!
That starter is sure a good one after that crank session
You should be using the glow plugs. Turn the switch to the left for 3 plus minutes.
Someday we will hook them up haha. Starts now no spray must’ve been air when we started it for the first time.
Oh man, I ain't no mechanic. But that man there, has overhauled engines along with his old man all their life, and you of all people, telling this folks how to use the glow plugs.
3 minutes? Lol, ok.
3+ minutes is for - degree weather lol
Ya there’s a ton of air in the fuel system it takes forever to bleed. But the glow plugs help tremendously. 10 seconds then give it the bang
Chrome Sockets on an impact, you are a man after my heart.
Why own two sets of sockets when you can own one?
@@dieseJL exactly!
Love to see vintage equipment brought back to service.
I missed buying one with a 4-1 bucket 3000 hours clean for $12k years ago in Vermont. Awesome machines .
Way to.go.friend great work
Happy boys!
Great video guys. You and your dad make a great team!
Thanks! We have fun together
Great stuff again keep them coming
progress keep it coming guys.
Love the video and how you got it going well done on you too mate
Milk colored......lots of water in the hydraulic fluid.
the 3306PC engine needs the glow plugs cycled about 20-30seconds or so for starting when engine is cold..no wonder why it wouldnt start
Hooray! Great job.
love the 977 vids
Use some compressed air to force the blockage out of the fuel lines it's clogged up in them somewhere guys. On that machine for sure.
Dang son i know it was a let done to keep on crankin. But what a pay off when that ole smoke started rolling. Great job!! Thanks for sharing yalls talents and adventures. Oh by the bye what an editing job that was well done!!
Since it has pre-combustion chambers it needs preheat with the glow plugs to start.
You think those were hooked up lol It actually starts now no ether. Must’ve been a lot of air.
a very old trick, starting the engine, you loosen the line 1 nut and while the engine turns you do it in the ignition order 1,5,3,6,2,4 that makes the air in the system come out faster , Greetings from Venezuela 🇻🇪
Great video Guy's, it's always a good day when an old Cat comes back to life .
Agreed!
When you hear a torque wrench hit it's click, that's it. Do not keep bumping it. That's the rule. Nice video, Sir!
Thanks!

back in the day the cat dealer I worked at, we get those loaders in all the time, It seemed liked there was never one in the main shop where I wasn't R&R the trans or something of a 955 or 977, slow low production high maintenance........... That was before 1975, cylinder heads on a revolving door, my main line of work was support for scraper spreads, primarily 666's. and 657, when they died off so I also went the way. retired.
Purrs like a kitten 👍
Nice job
Only an idiot would abuse a Cat. They hold their value so much if they are cared for. These machines are lucky you found them.
Hey guys is itcok to lube the rubber with dish washer liquid, because we on construction sites were told not to use dish soap on the rubber rings for sewer pipe as it made it brittle and cracks ,falls apart.
I would have been nervous a snake or something would jump out of that belly pan!
Sweet.......
i am at 26:30 and stopped. Going to guess you need to bleed the each injector line after the fuel pump. You did the master in...now you to crack the other lines while cranking.
We were almost there!!
Contact your local farmers around your area. About getting connected with some Red dyed off road diesel fuel for your equipment usage. They'll be able to help you out of course I'm sure A fee would be included for their services of that part to though as we'll. Although you gotta and should expect that to anyways to.
👍👍👍
Did you rebuild a roosamaster injection pump? If so was it a DB/432J13053
I have rebuilt a few, video on one coming out soon. The video that I have out now is a DB2 off a Case 450.
👍👍👍👍👍👍
I know nothing about Bulldozers and I have never ever seen a valve on the actual piston, what's that for please? is it some kind of compression release? Bob. UK
No valve on the piston, maybe you were just seeing the cutout spot for one?
Ohh ok, you mean like the clearance recess ? @@dieseJL
Ah I see now what you are referencing. I think that is just an added bit of material because that’s where the combustion chamber sprays. The piston is all solid though
Give it a little shot from the ether bunny
😃
Starting fluids are made for spraying in a mist spray not like straight run like you have
That’s why the new can worked so well!
open all inj lines pump till all air is out save starter /battery,s my farm is full of ol iron no go to china
What's with the golf carts? Do you raise them there😮
I think by weight we have more 977 than golf cart 🤔
@dieseJL Well, if they are not expensive, I'd like to get a breeding pair of golf carts and start my own cart ranch.🛺🛺🛺🛺🛺🛺🛺
Is your father from Chicago? His accent sounds like it
It’s just a Midwest accent 🤣
You work on golf cart to
My uncle
Is that a 3306 ?
Yeah
all them pistons got crack in m8 need new
Send it
luv [t,,🚜
Why is it when a engine fails to start they automatically reach for the either which chokes the rebuilt engine up and the wonder why it doesn’t start, The fuel systems has just been completely taken apart and let air into the injector, But they consistently spray either into the air intake and think the diesel engine will snap into life, Either is like a drug to these diesel and for as long it will not start unless you are spraying this crap into the air filters,
Yeah, they shoulda bled each injector lines all the way to the injectors after bleeding inj. pump. Also shoulda hooked up & used glowplugs but since they weren't hooked up spraying *a little* ether to help the just-put-back-together(but still old) engine initially start up is usually very helpful in getting the whole injection process/internal combustion to kick off and run smooth. I agree that it was used way too early on, and may not even have been needed if the initial bleeding process was done better & air was all out of fuel delivery system. Anyways ether has it's place, it's always going to be used to start hard to start(diesel especially) engines.🤔😄🤷♂️💥💨✨🔥👍🛠️🔧🔩🗜️⛓️😄
U own a golfcart business or something?
It’s my uncles place
Waste your time do not try to bring back a dead machine
Giving up is never an option
