I don't find the usual EDEN songs very saddening, though this really resonated sad feelings with me. ITYTTMOM was not sad really, the 3 remake songs shouldn't be counted and only 1 of the 4 original releases from ITYTTMOM is sad. His older stuff (way back) isn't that sad either. As I said it's mostly personal but this song really resonated that "sad" feelings with me.

I related to the lyrics in some way. I dated and loved this girl for two years. We talked about having a family, and home. We've been broken up for a year today, our relationship got chaotic towards the end because of alcohol and ended it on very bad terms. Last week, I decided to go a bell on a hilltop with a nice scenery, it was our old quiet place to sit and relax together. I didn't notice someone sitting on the other side of the bell until I sat down in front of it. It was my ex-lover. Awkwardly, we made eye contact but faintly smiled at each other for a moment, we didn't say anything to each other. Afterwards, we left our separate ways, feeling some type of closure. This song just hit me in some way.

I feel like I can almost never fully comprehend the whole story of Edens songs but at the same time I know exactly what he means and how he feels about it and what emotions i connect with the story. It's like there are a few different iterations of a narrative in the construct of his songs and he purposely leaves parts of the lyrics open for your own interpretation while being precise enough in other parts to guide our minds in a very similar direction. (especially in terms of what emotions we feel) Maybe some lines even have multiple meanings for himself. Maybe some refer to very personal and specific experiences that only he could know of. A true lyrical genius. He's absolutely incredible.

This song captured all of my emotions. My mom has told me multiple times that she wishes that she had an abortion, and has always criticized me on my dreams and my goals in life. She has taken out all of her frustrations and insecurities on me, and the only memories that I can remember of my early childhood are of her yelling profanity in my face and telling me that I'm useless, which she continues to do to this day. I've gotten the straight A's that she wanted, I've gotten into the schools that she wanted, and I have lived my whole life in the way that she wanted. I've been through a similar situation. My mom doesn't love me and sometimes she've told me about how she wanted to had an abortion. It hurts, it really does; but at the same time I feel lucky because she didn't want me but I have the best grandparents you can imagine and they took me as soon as I was born and raised me as their own. Today I have a a terrible relationship with my mom and we avoid each other, but without her lack of love for me (because I have to sisters and she really loves them) I couldn't have become what I am today and my grandfather wouldn't have had the opportunity to raise the babygirl he longed his entire life. I felt the need to comment just to say that you deserve lots of love, you look like a great person and someone to be proud of. this is so relatable that im speechless " i think you fucked me up...i think...i think you fucked me up, and i have nothing to say to you" that part speaks like bullets, hearing his voice crack up reminded me exactly of all the times i held on tight trying to tell myself to stay strong while my heart was breaking bit by bit, trying to hold onto an illusion of something that wasn't even real, its funny because i remember singing "wake up" every night and hearing her breath as she fell asleep telling me "I love you" . and now im here years later after all the pain ,heartbreak,trying to forget, moving on, getting stronger, growing up... and I listen to this and its hard to breath. its like this song just brought back so much even tho its my first time hearing it, its a weird dark type of nostalgia. it doesn't bring back memories, it brings back feelings, the ones i forgot i had, and just gosh, on this cold winter night overwhelmed with stress, and anxiety. and feeling so little , I hear this and its like a punch in the gut with a warm hug after. it reminds me that no matter how painful something is how much it changes you and fucks you up, you will get through it and keep going. no matter how cold your heart gets, you're still you.
