Probably wouldn't want to use water, let alone a pressure washer on old single stage paint. Single stage paint is very thin, also water can get into small cracks in the paint where it can't be dried off, leading to rust bubbles and rust forming on the steel. Very clean and complete though, treasure it.

That must have been so pleasing to see that colour coming through, and well, at the end! So worthwhile! 👍
1966 license tag. Beautiful paint job, even after all those years and layers of grime.
Love the old cars. That is back when they actually built cars. Not like cars of today with all the plastic and carbon fiber.
in the old days i payed 25$ for a 52 Chevy and it ran ,,,, good times
The car, covered in hay and bird droppings, has undamaged paintwork and nickel-plated parts without traces of corrosion...I willingly believe it! (Sarcasm!) Bird droppings, which even corrode the paint of missile-carrying cruisers that can withstand heating up to 1200 degrees Celsius, did not even leave a stain🤦♂️ Either these are technologies of a lost civilization, or the guy learned “restoration” from Thai bloggers who “restore” computers by washing them with running water, by reverse installation😁
To be fair you can wash electronics 🤷♂️
The hardest part of this was making the car look like it had been sitting for 48 years. Easier to put the dirt and crap on than take it off
Dust can protect the paint very well if humidity is not too high 💯 👍
48 yrs and the color is still fresh insane!!
The paint still looks amazing!
in 70 years the current cars we're driving might be getting this same amount of attention and care
Wow! It’s amazing what you own cover when you clean something up. Lots of hard work, but it paid off. What a beautiful car.
Wow. I wonder how many modern cars would last that long
Easy question. None. Another thing to keep in mind is 70 years from now *nobody* will want a car from the 2020s let alone care to restore it but this one from 1950 will still be desirable
@@maggs131 Modern cars are just appliances. Built to go bad and be replaced.
Absolutely gorgeous car. I would give my right arm for it
Think about that and be careful what ya wish for
😂😂😂😂😂👍👍👍👍 I'm ready to give a kidney 😂😂😂😂
Would you give a left testicle?! 🤔 😅
Id reword that buddy, it’ll make shifting gears a hell of a lot harder for you
Yet this dude is ready to crush it lol
Ahhh, Now I’m good for another 48years…. Good job Brother 👍 Keep em Living ❤
Me and my brother took a 49 Chevy and put it on a 94 Impala SS rolling chassis... best of both worlds.
did it fit well or did you have to do a lot of cutting? My older brother had a 1950 Chevy. he didn't want it at his home or his wife didn't want it so we had to leave it on the side of a road. I hope someone did something with it.
Good job finding it and saving it it's a beautiful car 👍
Doc Hudson looks good after years at Radiator Spring.😊😊😊
I don't usually like green. But that green is just beautiful.
Ohh what I’d give to own a car like that. Love the colour too
1951 Chevy Bel Air Hardtop
It's not a hard top, it's a sedan ! See the door post , That makes it a sedan , A hard top have no post ! But I love the car ! When I was growing up, we had a 52 Chevy 2 door .fastback , I think it was called that ! Is same color as this car. I'm not sure what it would be called .
I believe they called those Chevies Fleetlines.
@@christesta2521 No, this is a 2 door sedan, not a Fleetline. I rather like the second series Fleetline 1949-52, especially the 2 door ones.
2door sedan
Probably wouldn't want to use water, let alone a pressure washer on old single stage paint. Single stage paint is very thin, also water can get into small cracks in the paint where it can't be dried off, leading to rust bubbles and rust forming on the steel. Very clean and complete though, treasure it.
Today's cars found in a barn 40 years from now will get washes away by a pressure washer.
In my city, I saw many of these being destroyed with an ax in the 70s. Fortunately, some were saved as they were hidden.
Cor espetacular. É para admirar cada cantinho.
1960’s paint jobs holding up better than year 2000 jobs
Wow, the before and the after are like night and day. That car cleaned up well. Nice job. Love from Marysville California
That's amazing and love the steps you took to gradually get it clean so it wouldn't get scratched with all the dirt. 😎
Hand washing! A total no! no!
From a run down old banger to a beautiful vintage style car!!!
That's a beautiful car and a good paint . U always find a good cars 😊
Волга
Wow. That Chevy is whole.
All things considered, that old car looks great!
That paint is in incredible condition!
Que relíquia. Maravilhoso ❤️
Absolutely beautiful 😊 The paint they use today won't last more than a few years. 😢
Una joya , felicidad para el dueño..😊
Love that green! That’s a great car. Great video.
Back when cars had quality and style
in India two buckets of water is enough to clean any car☠️
Barn fine without bird droppings Paint looks great
Türkiye de foşur foşur yıkadım diyerek video çekerler. 😂 vallahi araba muhteşem efsane klasik.
Iyi!
Other than the rust on the bumpers that Chev is awesome.
I swear old cars have personality man they just cool as ice baby
I'm amazed by how well the green paint held up
It us a beautiful find, how lucky you are!
Keep in mind that those old window gaskets and seals WILL be gone if you hit them with a pressure washer.. I have old cars.. trust me on this..😢
The paint is amazing for a 70 year-old car.
I'm european. Japanese make the best bikes. Italians make the most beautiful cars and bikes BUT americans make the best cars.
Brings back memories! Nicely done! 👍🖖
I had two of these cars in the 70's they are awesome and strong. A mustang hit my back fender well..... Nothing happened to me but tore that mustang up😂🤣😂🤣😂.... 🇺🇲🙏🇺🇲
It looks like a 1951 Chevrolet deLuxe. My neighbor drove a similar one, only in light blue. It was beautiful and probably the only one in Gdynia at that time.
I would not say that they were abandoned because obviously they look like they were in storage of some kind. So you could say that there were a barn find but not abandoned because they would be outside and very rusty.
Exactly..
I’m glad it did not rust!❤
Especially in Michigan.
That’s a beautiful car. Such a nice colour. Would that be the original paint?
People in USA : wow 48 years old car People in India: oo ye damaal movie ki car hai😂😂
Good job bro...cars like tgat deserve all the t.l.c.they get plus our respect to the men that built them
Prime, paint, coating and paintwork of HIGH QUALITY
That’s either a 53 or 54…I couldn’t see a full side profile. I drove my BF’s green 53, shift on the column, back in the late 60’s. He also had a red and white pop top 57 T bird and an orange 57. He and his brother restored cars every summer.
