Minecraft Elegance: Next Generation Copper Farm (Java 1.17-1.20)

2024 ж. 20 Мам.

A zombie reinforcements copper farm that can be built in about 90 seconds and can give you thousands of copper ingots per hour. Maximum rates will depend on the performance of your specific PC or server, but several thousand ingots per hour would not be unexpected.
IMPORTANT
Your game basically needs to manage two things when the farm is running:
1) Summoning productive zombies that will eventually convert to drowneds to make copper, and
2) Killing excess zombies to throttle the farm so that it doesn't ruin the game.
To maximize the rates for the farm, you want to minimize the killing of excess zombies so the lag from killing those zombies does not take away from making productive ones. Don't create huge spawning spaces for the farm because this just creates a lot of excess zombies that serve no purpose (and they bring excess armor into the farm, which requires more frequent culling). Most players need only the 2 linear spawning zones in cardinal directions.

NOTES
1:25 Zombies that convert into drowneds will not drop tridents.
2:34 This carpet script will show the spawn zones when you right click the mob with a stick: /script download utilities/reinforcement_zones.sc
3:20 The sword can be made of any material. It does not need to be diamond.
7:20 Some modified servers have dimension-specific difficulty settings, so the End dimension may be in easy or normal difficulty when other dimensions are hard.
8:27 The spawn zones extend out to a distance of 40 blocks away from the attacked mob, but the actual zones are shorter than 40 blocks long.
9:27 You can use netherrack instead of soul sand for the fire. Soul fire isn't as bright and deals more damage to baby zombies that fall past the chain, but it doesn't really matter.
12:27 The zombie picked up seeds, which will prevent it from despawning. That said, most zombies are not able to pick up items, so I would not rely on this technique.
12:47 Backup zombies can also be trapped using boats placed near the farm.
14:33 Do not use Carpet mod for autoclicking. It's best to use an external autoclicker program, but Tweakeroo may work in many cases when set to 45 gt. If you are not permitted to use an autoclicker, set a metronome to 53 bpm and attack every other beat. If you are on a laggy server, you can try a slightly longer attack interval (such as 2400 - 3000 ms instead of the usual 2250 ms).
16:03 Sharpness conveys through an armor stand with Sweeping Edge, but Smite does not.
17:36 Thanks to Freeze and Mirage Wedjak for designing the hopper minecart collection system for 1.19. The schematic link is above, just below the WDL, which also has a closely related variant of the collection system.
18:05 Crouching down while attacking the armor stand will keep you from picking up XP orbs, which further improves client-side performance since the XP orbs will not need to be rendered. You will need to stand up on occasion to pick up the XP orbs to refresh your sword with Mending, and Unbreaking will allow you to stretch the durability of your sword between Mending sessions.
18:11 Using Tweakeroo to disableEntityRendering will drastically improve client side performance. Reducing render distance to 3 chunks will also help.
18:24 The spawning tunnels need to be 2 blocks wide because reinforcements spawn at the northwest corner of the block (so widen the tunnel to the north or west). Spawnproofing is not needed in the overworld tunnels because skeleton spawns cannot see any targets, so they do not shoot the arrows that could miss and hit a creeper instead, which would explode in retaliation.
18:38 Many baby zombies are ejected from the farm due to cramming if they climb a ladder while inside the farm (since their feet are no longer in a ladder block). You may see them yeeted on occasion.

  • Well,1.20.5 has broken this farm, because swimming to the top of anything but a water source block allows the entity to breathe. The solution is to replace the block above the killing chamber with a water logged mangrove root. This forces the non water source block right under to connect with above, filling and removing any pixel of air, but without messing the horizontal current.

  • Thank you so much for this, me and my friend built this yesterday and already got a stack of copper blocks out of it! Also the server was struggling, ran on 3tps at some point, but it's a pretty weak server anyway. We were planning to design our base in a steampunk style and need copper for it, but this farm now provides us with just that!

  • The amount of love I have for this man is crazy. He makes so efficient but simple farms. I bet you could make every single farm on his minecraft elegance playlist in under 12 hrs on a random seed new world. This man is crazy and brilliant. I cant wait for him to make another tutorial. He makes other creators look like babies!

  • If you want to contain the reinforcement zombies you can build 2 dark tunnels where they can spawn and block all other spawning spaces. The tunnels have to be 2 blocks wide though as theres a bug that reinforcement zombies spawn on the corner of a block (precisely on the north west corner of the intended spawning space). Also on one side you should place the ladders to the other side of the block, instead of on the glass, otherwise zombies can get stuck on them.

  • It works perfectly fine on 1.17! Some Notes: -I tested it on SinglePlayer, running fabric -I ran the farm for 1 hour or so using Looting, Mending, Unbreaking, Smite and Diamond Sword -The rates are about 9 stacks with Looting 2 -I have a beacon with regeneration -I have sodium and lithium installed -I used tweakeroo's feature which disables the entity rendering(Since I have this set to true, should I "cull" the farm?) -I didn't change anything regarding the building site. Edit: If you are planning on building something near the area or just being present, I recommend putting 2-3 boats near the building to capture 4-6 zombies. Then kill the zombies in the chamber. In this way, your game won't lag and you will be able to restock the farm or in case of an emergency.

    • you dont want to use smite for this farm. any additional damage you deal will cause to to kill some zombies before they drown and it will cause you to hit each zombie less which results in less reinforcments.

  • finally a copper farm actually worth building and doesn't give me trash rates that are obtainable within 5 minutes worth of mining, this is insane for the simplicity of the farm

  • Do I regret building a complicated copper farm last week that took me hours to build and is still less efficient than this simple one? Maybe... But thanks Ian, I love how unique and clever your farms are!!

  • For people on realms with slower systems, I had to set my auto clicker to 2.5 seconds and it worked as designed. At 2.250 seconds, the zombies died without reinforcements. Ianxofour mentioned this to me for the stacking raid farm and it was the fix as well, delay the time out an extra 250 msecs for realms lag. Thanks again!

  • yet another example of taking an unattainable farm for the average player and turning it into a simple to build, easy to operate, and surprisingly efficient farm. I can't thank you enough for the time and effort you and your community have put into designing and optimizing these creations. Edit: I also did the minecart hopper collection setup that was shown later and it worked very well. The one issue that I had with the solution shown was that the hopper minecarts seemed to be getting deleted by the lava filled cauldron once the farm filled up and the lag kicked in. It ended up working out. but I did have to swap out the unloader for one that uses the amethyst crystal for alignment. I'm not knowledgeable or savvy enough to know why that solution is more stable but it seems to be. I kinda smushed the one from Ilmango's video on unloaders with the one that was shown as an example here and it has seemed to work out fine.
