Fantastic video Josh. Great meeting you and the wife. It was awesome shooting together and sharing moments that we'll remember and cherish for the rest of our lives. You certainly know who to put it all together into a compelling and enjoyable video!
Louis, that was an absolutely magical experience and you are a dear friend. I can’t wait to spend more time together.
awesome video Josh, and good to see you hangin out with Louis.. amazing photographer that guy.. i know Louis on IG, and i'm a lil salty because i'm still waiting for my Z9 while you guys already enjoying yours. :-(
Love it Louis "We love Nikon, We buy Nikon, but what we expect Nikon to do is produce a product that's going to be worth our investment". No truer words were said except for "The Z9 is a beast" Tally ho!
Dear Josh, I just hit subscribe to your channel after watching my first video( this one). Your voice over and the real time footage you rendered is state of the art. I wish you get your z9 soon and do many many more videos to entertain us. Good Luck. Stay safe!
Story telling and the journey is what it’s all about. Wonderful job
Thank you so much. 🙂
I think what I love about your videos is you speak to your audience in a way that most of us get, that is, honest real world examples of an ordinary bloke sharing his passion, it strikes a chord with me. So thank you very much Bayou Josh for inspiring not only myself but your other followers and those that have yet to meet you👍
I appreciate that! You are very kind.
Thanks for sharing another wonderful video and congratulations on the new Z9🙏🤗
As always loved your videos and narrations. Thanks for sharing this experience!
Always enjoy coming along for the ride. Well done
Gorgeous, Josh. Never discount the beauty in backlighting. And that Javelina !!! Thank you for sharing this
Thank You Bryan. I love backlighting, I'm just not proficient. 🙂
Love the drone footage from Arches.
Thank you. Definitely outside arches. Can’t fly the drone in arches.
Can't wait to be along for the ride with your new Z9. Awesome video. Thank you.
Thanks for tagging along Polly. 😀
Josh this was a super video! 5 star content! The best part IMHO is the love shared for photography and honesty about your shoot plus the perspective by Louis. Louis is indeed a good friend and the type you want to keep on the high shelf in life because they will never let you down and hopefully we can return favors to our good friends like that. Cheers to you, your gal, Louis, Nikon shooters and Nikon! Happy New Year and be safe.
thank you my friend. Louis is a real gem for sure. cheers.
Awesome video Josh! I really enjoyed it. Thanks for taking us along on your NM venture and giving us a sample of the Z9 technology’s.
Thanks for watching. Really been figuring the camera out so hopefully better images next time. 🙂
Another wonderful photo experience you're sharing with us, Bayou, thanks. You took me on a trip with the nice scenic and wildlife retreat. The ducks pictures were amazing to me. Your Z9 + 600mm f4 combo will be your killer setup. I'm sure there'll be some great photography to follow in the next little while. Again, thanks for the narration all along, just very enjoying.
Thank you for watching James.
Oh what a beautiful place and very nice video.
Looking forward to your Z9 adventures!
You got it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats my brotha. You deserve it. You always continue to make great content and will no doubt WOW us with even more!
I hope so. I can’t find birds to photograph this weekend. Killing me.
@@BayouJosh I know same problem over here in California San Bernardino mountains
some beautiful scenery and images - I appreciate you sharing this. Glad you finally got your Z9 - I hope it's everything you hope it will be.
Thanks Charles. So far so good!
Nice video and story sharing. Looking forward to seeing more new videos with z9
Great video! Happy that Omar Gonzalez photography mentioned you. I've now found a new inspiration for my photography.
Omar is the best! that was so very kind of him. 🙂
What a great video and so different to the usual y tube stuff it nice to know that it’s not all about being great at photography,it’s about the fresh air ,the experience and hopefully some great pictures 😊👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Always enjoy your videos. One of my favorite aspects of your video’s is the the voice over narration and storytelling. You definitely have a knack for it. Keep up the great work and as always, thanks for the content.
You’re too kind. Thank you.
I look forward to your videos! Love them.
Thank you so much Kellie.
Absolutely love your videos, Josh!
Glad you like them! thank you my friend.
Whaouuhh !! Thanks so much ! Great vidéo and lovely photos !
😃
Congratulations Josh on finally getting your Z9! I can’t wait to see your up coming videos. My Z9 is in the mail… it seems like it’s been a much longer wait than it actually was.
Josh, you are a comedian bro. You gave me a good laugh. Keep doing your thing. It only gets better.
I appreciate that. thank you,
Congratulations on your Z9. I look forward to seeing what you shoot and hearing about the rest of the journey.
Thank u you oh so much Bruce.
Some cool stuff Josh! 🙌🏻 Sandhill Cranes are just awesome
They’re so fun!
Nice video Josh looking forward to seeing Z9 images, stay safe both of you...
Thank you
Josh, thanks for sharing a very important lesson of life with us. It's not the destination, it's the trip, experience, and whom we choose as our time traveling buddies that makes it all worthwhile. Looked like fun.
Thanks for tagging along John.
Great video Josh, You are a great story teller, i hope you get your Z9 soon.
Great video and such a truism at the end... "the more I do it the more I discovery it's more fun with friends". 100% agree
thank you my friend.
No, it won't make your images better. You, and the time you spend on the field, will make your images better, my friend, you know that better than anyone. Another soulful video!
😃
Congrats my friend ! Looking forward to more , have a nice weekend :) Ps: a great video again Regards Ronny
Thank you very much Ronny,
I loved the little bits where we saw a "Josh" in his natural habitat 😉 Amazing pictures and footage as always! I'm jealous of the amount of wildlife you got to see!
Thanks Mark. A lot of traveling around to see that wildlife. Fun stuff.
Another great story and video. Good job man!
Thanks again!
How beautiful creatures your shots did.
That was awesome!
Glad you liked it! thank you Fel.
Thanks for sharing your trip with us Josh! Great photos and video. I'm very much looking forward to seeing you with the Z9 over the long term. (Glad to hear it finally arrived!) I do agree that the Z9 (and the A1) mark a turning point: advances from hereon out will probably not be nearly as big of a deal.
I hope you are right. Thank you.
Wow....what a beautiful area for wildlife photography! Great Video!
Thank you Michael. It really is a beautiful place.
Thanks Josh, I like this type of video. Really cool footage, great light!
Thank you my friend
Great video!! Love it! I always shoot with my buddy, just more fun when you have someone to share your passion with. Keep up the great content!
thanks. Definitely more fun with friends.
Hey just keep doing what you do. Enjoyed the video as usual. Have fun with your new camera. Looking forward to taking the journey with you.
thank you Robert.
You’re an inspiration, thank you.
Awe. Thank you.
Great video and another beautiful location! You will enjoy the Z9. I got mine already and it's great. Now it's time to improve myself and get to different locations. Whatever gear comes out - the Z9 should do it for me for several years to come. Looking forward to your next videos using the new camera!
Indeed. I’ve had mine for the past week and it really is fantastic
Always fun to tag along on your photo ops. Your storytelling is what drew me into your channel initially and is what keeps me coming back for the next episode. I really wanted to move from the D500 to the Z9, but that will have to wait a few years. When I retire next February i will take stock and see if it is in the cards.
It really is worth looking at. I think it may be my last camera for many years to come.
Love the humor! Great video!
Thank you Tommy.
Wonderful.. and congratulations for your z⁹
Thank you. 😃
Nice job telling the story. Love your channel. Enjoy the Z9, I'm sure it's all it's cracked up to be and more. For now, I'll stay in the D850 ranks as I'm still loving it!
You've got some nice friends! Loving seeing your experiences!
Thank you my friend
Very nice video! I think the Z9 is a fantastic camera. Even if probably 99% of us can't afford it...😂 Have fun with it. And congratulations again on the 10000 subscribers! I reached the 600 subscriptions today, and it's always a pleasure when you reach small or even bigger goals. Have a great day, everyone!
Very nice and true words, Max!Congratulations on the 600 subscriptions. You actually deserved more! Keep up the good work both of you. You are both, two super photographers 👍🏼
@@wildlifenature4435 Yep, that's right. He would have deserved at least 10,000 too!
Congrats 🎊 on 600. You are well on your way!
So happy Nikon shooters have a great new addition to the lineup. Have fun!
Long overdue 😊
Another brilliant 👏 video 📹
Thank you Brother.
@@BayouJosh your welcome 🙏
Really enjoy the honesty and organic vibe of your videos Josh. Thanks
I recently discovered your channel. I love it. Keep up the great work and producing awesome videos!
Thanks, will do!
I love your line about ‘more fun with friends.’ I absolutely need someone to share this wirh 😲 .
It really is.
As a happy amateur, I enjoy your down-to-earth reviews and insights!
thank you so much.
Awesome ❤️ 🙌🏼
Thank you 🙌
Nice as always Josh, looking forward to hearing more on that Z9 before I take the big plunge.
You and me both! more to come.
Nice video. Love it
Great video, and fantastic images Josh!
thank you Andrew.
What a great telling voice and what a great channel.
Thank you kindly!
Nice one, I'm delighted for you that your own Z9 finally arrived and look forward to seeing you get used to a whole new bunch of settings and results. My Sony 600f4 finally arrived last week too, oh I know that frustration of waiting, then the buzz when your new bit of quite expensive equipment eventually arrives. As for that overcast and cloudy day, welcome to England U.K. this is our most common weather. Keep 'em coming, Josh. I look forward to your new ventures, Regards, Mark.
Thank you Mark and congratulations on the 600 f/4
Good one 👌
It came, your z9...more good, honest videos to come! Yeh! Bring it!
wonderful to know you have got that beast
It is fantastic
Great story telling and nice sense of humor Josh. Really enjoyable following along.
Thank you Todd.
Great video Josh. You are correct, this hobby is so much better whem shared with friends. The Z9 is an absolute wonderful camera. I am loving mine. Looking forward to more of you struggles,…. I mean videos.
It really is!
Nicely done Josh. You are a great story teller, and that is of much greater value than someone who simply reviews technical details. And I too am capable making "average images" with good equipment. I do it all the time! Take care.
Glad to know I am not alone.
beautiful shots.
Thank you.
Just got to say you put together amazing videos exceptionally well made.
Thank you so much Joshua
Got mine a couple weeks ago. There is surprisingly a fairly significant learning curve...even for a 20 year Nikon guy. I believe I now truly trust AF-C for the first time ever and was blown away how easily it just locked on to an eye and didn't let go. Look forward to seeing what you get with it. Keep up the great work!.
Right? It really is a different animal. I’m really torn between AF modes.
I look forward to your Z9 comments. Mine is in route to me from the camera store in VA. A fun, happy story that is to far off topic to go into here. But I’ll be learning the Z9 in the coming weeks. This video like so many of yours is very entertaining. And like all of your work, beautifully photographed .
Amazing work Bro!
Thank you very much!
Amazing video! Very well done!
Thank you sir.
That was really nice of Louis to let you use his camera for the morning. Beautiful photography there Josh. I especially liked the pintail images. Pintails and Wood Ducks are my 2 favorite waterfowl. One universal truth about technology (coming from a guy who spent most of his 36 year career in the IT industry) is that no matter what tech you buy today, in 2 years something faster, better, more powerful will come along. That Z9 should be producing beautiful images years from now just like it does today even though the next iteration will have more features and "better" technology. Things were so much simpler with my Nikon FE2 35mm film camera. The only thing a photographer had to worry about was exposure and composition. I thought the center weighted metering and aperture priority setting was the "cat's meow". I'm really looking forward to your experiences with the Z9. It's always good to see this from a photographer who shoots similar subjects under similar conditions as I do.
Louis is a great friend. Love that guy. There were so many Pintails there. Definitely my favorite duck. thanks for tagging along Jeff.
@@BayouJosh any time. I like your channel for sure.
Nice Video!!!! Totally agree!
Looks like it was a fun shoot! I just picked up a 150-600 G2 Tamron for my Z6II and have been getting some fun pictures of the bald eagles in my home town. One of these days I want to take a real trip and do some more serious photography like that. I hope you have fun with the Z9 and look forward to seeing more of your adventures!
Just breathtaking, the whole experience was amazing. You seriously have a gift for connecting with people (on and off camera). A voice for National Geographic for sure, keep up the work!
Wow, thank you! You are too kind.
Great video Josh. Looks like that was a fun trip. Congrats on the Z9
It was! thank you Rob.
Voice over amazing brother! Awesome content!!
thank you my friend.
I love the way you tell your stories. That Z9, you will become a pro at it soon.
Thank you my friend
Super great stuff Josh! Really looking forward to next time also when you have your Z9.
Coming soon! Thank you Dusty.
You are 100% correct about enjoying the hobby, meeting new friends and having those experiences. It is not just about the gear. Looks like Bosque was dry and cold. Thanks
Right on. and Yes. It was dry...cold? well that is relative. we went back home to 16 degrees in Idaho
"life long hobby" "better with friends". Words of wisdom. Let the technology move faster than us!
😀
Great video! I am really enjoying my z9 and I'm glad you got a chance to try it and now have your own. Your message about the technology train really resonates with me. I feel like I've been watching the other camera brands accelerate away and now, with the z9, we can do some of the things our non-Nikon friends can do. This camera has challenged me to get out and try new things that I couldn't do before and i'm feeling inspired. Thanks for sharing your experience.
Well said! I feel like I need to re-photograph everything I've ever seen.
I am waiting for my Z9 too . Great Video josh and nice thoughts about your hobby 🤗
Thank you so much 😊
Z9 the game changer
Truth!
Great Video. Love your tone of voice and presentation. As for the Z9, I'll pass this time around. I have a Z7 which meets my needs every day.
You are very Kind. thank you. the Z7 is a fantastic camera
Congratulations. Finally :).
Yes! Thank you!
Lovely shots of the pintails! Iin the end it´s all about getting out there exploring, experience nature and being present no matter if you have a top of the line equipment or not, but the z9 do look tempting thou!
Well said! It really is an exciting camera
I can so identify with your plight with the Z9. Ordered my Z9 the morning of the announcement and was hoping it would arrive before my trip to the Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge in Sanibel FL on Jan 20. But alas it did not arrive and I muddled along with my old D850/500 combo and really got some great images even though I could have greatly benefitted from the WYSIWYG viewfinder and especially the 20fps. And yes you guessed it the day I returned from my trip I got the ship notification that my Z9 would be arriving the next day. Love your storytelling, will be interested to see more in the future.
Typical 😄 It is pretty amazing and I am glad I ordered when I did.
Great video! My Z9 arrived 2 days ago, and I couldn't be happier with it. Spent yesterday morning photographing birds and animals at home and was shocked by how well so many of my photos and videos turned out. The camera is every bit as great as I'd hoped it would be.
It really is a fantastic camera. congrats on getting yours.
The best bald eagle photos I've ever taken were with the Z9, 600/4, and 2xTC. The only advice I can offer is to spend considerable time researching the menus - which are much different from the Z6ii/Z7ii. Bottom line is, there is no right or wrong configuration - but it's important to re-think some old paradigms.
I am certainly learning that right now.
great video
Great story teller
Thank you Spence.
Hey, just found your channel. Love it. I gotta tell ya, that style you have with the narration really works for me. Reminds me of one of those nature shows you’d see on PBS back in the day - and that’s a good thing (for me anyway)
So glad you like it. I’ve definitely been heavily influenced b those shows.
Bosque Del Apache is amazing
indeed.
Nice trip and video Josh! What a nice friend to have to let you play with his new Z9... and I really felt the part about the 12" behind the camera being the bottleneck to success. LOL! Im as excited as you are, I expect my Z9 to arrive tomorrow. Looking forward to more excellent videos of you and Katy. 👍
Louis really is a great friend, Even If he would have not let me use that Camera. I love that 12" behind the camera statement. I'll have to use that one.
@@BayouJosh I can't take any credit for this one. "The single most important component to a camera is the twelve inches behind it." Andell Adam's.
Hi Josh, great video as usual. I can relate to when is it time to upgrade. I am still using a Nikon D7100 and I am perfectly happy with the results. I know the auto focus is no where near what the newer models have and I really would love to have eye focus, but as of now I am the only one who has to like my photos. I started my photography journey in mid 1965 with an old Mamiya with a top shutter speed of 1/500 and EVERYTHING was manual, including film advance. So compared to that I have came a long way. Keep up the good work!
Well save d Ron.
2:20 so sad lol. I enjoyed the content!
