Being a Golden Retriever Owner I can tell that it's not as easy as it seems to raise a Goldie. Even though they are one of the most intelligent and gentle dogs, there are quite a few challenges that every new parent goes through. So I decided to share all the advice and tips for raising a Golden Retriever.
my golden has been staring at me and barking. I get down on the floor and give him some love and he's so happy. there's just something about having a golden that makes the heart happy.

My Golden loves to repeatedly walk between my legs and stops and wants loves. I have raised 5 Goldens since 1985, each one had similar traits, but were also very much individuals. Loved every one so much!

My Golden has a leaning/blocking technique she uses on me when we are out walking, and I say it's time to go back in. So, we take a few steps then she runs in front of me and leans back into me so I will have to stop and rub her, then we take a few more steps, then do the same all over again. Hours to only make it a few steps back into the house, but let me tell you, those hours are some of the best times of my life. Nothing or nobody can come close to showing love the way a golden retriever can. When the weather is nice it feels like a gift from God to have my Roxy leading into me, wind blowing thru her hair. It's heaven on earth. I've been blessed to know the love of a golden retriever.
My current Golden (my 5th) has bonded with me 95% and the other 5% to my husband. He is our 4th Golden and the only one who has shown a preference. He is also jealous of my cat and shows him (the cat, Wege) who is boss, but never hurts Wege. Goldens are the best dogs ever! They are without a doubt the best friend you could ask for. I love Riley with my whole heart and I know he returns his whole heart as well. Goldens are the best!

Look how All these Golden Retriever Dogs are Always Smiling and Happy when having their picture taken . That's very telling. I ❤ my Golden Retriever Boy Reagan. 7 Fun Years So far and I NEVER want to live without a Golden Retriever now! They are such Loving Dogs.
I re-homed an 8 month old Golden (Dave) a few months ago and he’s showing all the signs now that he’s 14 months. He doesn’t like it when I’m looking at my iPad on my lap…..he puts his nose forcefully onto it to prevent me seeing it until I turn it off; he obviously wants my full attention!🤪🇬🇧

I have been around dogs all my life and I must say, my golden has been the most clingy, most affectionate and friendliest dog I have ever had. I remember the times when I was going through something and he never left my side. He would lick my tears away. He looks at me with so much love. Life is less blue with him.

I have a golden "grand dog". She has lived with me for the last eight months while her Mom worked from home and finished her MS degree. She does ALL these things and more. She's my favorite "golden girl". We have a great routine. She is my buddy.
Our Golden, Maggie loves us all and does all of the mentioned acts in the video. In fact our last two, Annie and Abbie were the same. OH yes, some things seem a little different, but we have been blessed with very good Goldens and I think they have been blessed with some very good owners too. It's a two way street. Love them, trust them and they do the same! Gods creatures for sure.
1:31 THIS IS TOO TRUE!! so me and my family went to the vet with my golden retriever for his vaccination and we saw another golden which was only 1 month old! he was very cute and i couldn't resist picking him up!! he was small and fluffy... but as soon as my puppy saw me pick up the other puppy, he got so jealous that he started barking at the other puppy lol
My Theo that is the name of my almost 2 years old golden retriever. He loves me very much-all the things you mentioned here he does with me. One more thing when go just near to shop putting hin inside the gate, he never goes inside the room u till I return from shop, if if I go for 10 min. He waits at the gate. Really my son and myself can't imagine a life without him. That much we love him, we adore him and we pamper him. Theo is our precious asset. We bought him when he completed just 30 days. Now he is 1 year 10 months.
My golden loved my socks the most…had a sock collection.

Mine hangs out with me from morning tonight. If I leave the house on work and I’m able to take her she sits with me in the front! Of course she’s harnessed to the seat! Cant think of life without her!

I have had a golden for each of myr three daughters. This one is mine! She has been the best! No chewing except for a pair of my wifes slippers, her favorite human, because we gave he Pork Chomps dog chews. She loves those. Get the big ones even for puppies it keeps them busy. They must sleep in a trainig crate near your bed for a few months. Put a piece of your clothing in with them, for ours it was a piece of my wifes clothing, it calmes them down . Always have something in the crate to chew they are teething. They love human company. Mine will brk at people going by the yard while standing on hind legs wagging her tail. She is saying free pets right here! She loves children because they play the best games! She never gets into the trash, never goes after food that is not hers, except for the cats food. She spends all day with me then, in the evening she sits on the sofa with my wife playing games and just snuggleing with her. When I go to bed she comes too. A lot of times after I fall asleep she goes back downstairs to be with my wife. We spend a lot of time with her, one of us is usually home with her. My wife had to go out of state for three months because her mom was ill. Our poor golden did not understand and every night at 6 PM she would get on the sofa and wait for my wife. She was so sad and you could see it in her face. When my wife got back it took the dog an hour to calm down. After that she is very insecure when my wife leave the house. All goldens are different, no two are alike, they are like people, You must be prepared for the golden to take over your life, they are great!🥰😍🤩

I love my GOLDENS!!!!! My female Golden brings me a slipper in the morning-just one. When we come home my male brings his favorite toy to us. They are beautiful, woundrful, family meambers!

I met my sisters boyfriend golden retriever for the first time adventuring over 55 acres of dry river creek and areas of deep water and in less than 10 minutes with little to no affection shown towards him I picked up my rifle and explored not knowing I had a VERY concerned retriever who followed me almost as if he saw it as a team effort to ensure our safety I spoke to him like he was human and I’ve not been more impressed by any other species. He even submerged in the water chasing bass holding his breath for around 25 or so seconds. Thought I’d share.

LUCK is the 5th generation in my home. I have horse farm in Virginia. They love and protect my horses. They are all buddies.

I look up from my computer and he stares at me he sticks near me and follows me everywhere he picks up his toys and asks me to play i come home from work my old boy wags his tail and howls at me i guess he does love me

All these 9 points are in my Goldie. LUCK has 10th point, he never ever eats before me. And he never eats from outside or from table or from any other person. This is his excellent habit. LUCK is a part and parcel of my life.

I have a Goldie and his name is Milo. He does all of this and is the best puppy in the world! Well, he is when I'm around. He isn't when I'm at my dad's house or something though. My mom said we have to get rid of him because he doesn't listen to her. My brother and I are both very sad.😢

This just reminds me of my old golden retriever, he did a lot of those things in the video and I regret sending him away now.
I have had goldies for as long as i can remember, i would not even contemplate any other. My boy is a real softy when it comes to effection, he use to go to sleep on my lap when a pup, but now seven years old, he still does his very best to climb up on my lap, and of course, only the front half gets up, but he will stand like this for over half an hour, with the usual lick in the ear if he gets a chance. We did try and get him to sleep in his bed in the laundry but he always ended up sleeping along side me on the floor by the bed. If he wants to go out early in the morning, he gets right up close and does very soft woffs in my ear, always taking a few steps backward before doing it again, if you pretend to still be asleep then thats asking for the tungue in the ear again, and he does not give up, the moment your feet come out the bed he is dancing around like crazy. The bigest problem is he just loves children, and as my wife and i are of an age where we have none, the people next door are use to seeing him sitting by the fence, tail going eith to the dozen, he will still be sitting there long after they have gone indoors, and really takes some convincing that tbey have gone in to stay, before he will come in for his dinner. I do agree the pet insurance is a must, not that he is always sick, just that is is so costly just for one visit, so i think it pays for itzelf in the long run. He is quite smart too, can and does open doors, but still cannot grasp the fact the he is supposed to cloise them behide him.Like most dogs, he does get a bone every so often, however, he becomes very attached to them and will stand at the backdoor, bone in mouth with the idea he can bring it indoors which is not on the books, so he does in tbe end out it down right iutside the back door, and the spends the next hour or so going to the door to make sure its still there. We have a good laught at him because he is good at digging holes for the sheer fun of it but burying a bone he seems to just scrape the top surface away and then find earth to put on top of it, it ends up with a very prominate lump in tbe ground, and all the magpies sit and watch him, as soon as he leaves tbey are on the ground, but not for long he is tgere in a flash gets the bone out only to done another .ittle mound somewhere else with the same result, its the way he pats the ground down with his nose that looks so funny, he has all the normal retreiver habits, like tbe " i cant hear you bit, and even looks at you before doing what ever it was before you spoke to him, despite this, he is still my best friend, and really lets me know it every day.
My first Golden (Paddy) used to steal dirty socks and knickers and partially bury them in the garden; anyone going near the mound of earth would be followed and growled at when they went to unearth them to be washed. My fourth Golden (Dave aged 10 months) just digs bloody great holes in the lawn when no one’s around, he then gets a bit mad when I go near the hole! Can’t live without a Golden in my life….I’m 79 now and Dave helps keep me fit every day….SIMPLY THE BEST DOGS🦮🦮🇬🇧
My Miss Nevada Girl loves me so much and I love her so much! She has to be around me ALL the time. She brings me her harness AKA her “bubba”. She guards it from the cats and Holly (my other Goldie). She allows me to have it because she trusts me so much. They have to sleep with me in my bed at night, go for walkies and everything. They know when they need fed and come to be when it’s “yummy time”

My Golden never licks my face, and never has done. She'll lick my hands and arms, and the excitement when I return from even just a short trip to the shops..........and she runs to get a toy to bring to me. She'll go out quietly for a walk with my partner, but when she realises I am bringing her, she leaps and jumps around the place, barking and bouncing........ Just wondered why she never got into the face-licking. I'd have no problem as she'll take treats from my mouth directly :)]
