    • Agree, I can kinda see the whole "falsely accused and now wants revenge" thing playing out in some narratives, but Cotton just... doesn't seem the type? He seems to understand that Sid was under a lot of stress considering what had happened and doesn't really hold it against her, though his time being incarcerated has certainly affected him, and he's - sorta understandably - desperate to get the word out that he's an innocent man.

  • One small touch I really like is that the Ghostface taunting Randy does so in a way that specifically hits his love of film and insecurities over his relationship to Sydney. Those two details are pretty good evidence that it's Mickey before we find out since we both see him in the film class with Randy and we know he is close enough to the group to have picked up on that detail. Genuinely a great clue that isn't super obvious.

  • I think in retrospect what they did with Mickey is pretty great, and he ranks as one of my favorite killers in the series. Not only is his motivation hauntingly realistic, but it’s his influence that continues to haunt Sidney throughout the rest of the series; it literally drives her to isolation. This actual psychopath was able to figure out who she was, infiltrate her friend group, and perfectly play the role of a close friend without ever breaking character. To me, that’s TERRIFYING

    • If he'd survived this film, they would've had to give him a romance with Sidney, I'm totally convinced of it. There's only so long you can carry on an unrequited crush story before it become tedious, and midway through Scream 2 was a good point to move on. If I were writing it, I would've had him survive the way Tatum did in 4, then have him be a major part of the production we see in 3. Give him a boost of confidence and a more take-life-by-the-horns attitude after a second near-death experience, which contrasts Sidney's self-isolation and fear caused by repeated traumas. Be clear that he's expressed his love for her in between films, but they're still just friends, though kind of in that almost-but-not-quite-dating phase. Sidney's still figuring things out and battling with trust issues. That kind of stuff is difficult to do properly, though, just as difficult as killing him off was. I think I lean towards the latter since we know they were able to pull it off in the end.

      @unknown_limes@unknown_limes7 ай бұрын
    • @@unknown_limes I don't think so. I think he could've just as easily gotten over her and just been a real friend with his own story arcs. Sad they didn't go that route. • Yeah. Mickey was fantastic. While Billy messed with Sidney's emotions, Mickey messed with her head. He constantly sewed seeds of doubt in her mind about Derek. Scream 2 gets unfair hate for him "disappearing" for a lot of the film, but if you've watched all the films, the writers do it with so many characters. It really isn't uncommon for characters to disappear and then conveniently pop up after a character cool-down to make them seem suspicious. It's a BS nitpick when other entries get a free pass for similar a thing.

  • Some fun facts 1. Mickey is the first killer to both unmask himself in front of Sidney, and wear the Ghostface costume. 2. Although being the secondary antagonist, Mickey killed more people in Scream 2 since he was hired by Mrs. Loomis to execute the copycat killing spree. 3. Mrs. Loomis true forename Nancy is never mentioned on-screen, and is only revealed in the script for Scream 4 (2011), similar to other characters in the film franchise, such as Joel and Hoss. In the script, Kirby Reed must answer Stab trivia in a game to save Charlie's life. She mentions Debbie Salt/Nancy Loomis, on the 99th page of the script. 4. Nancy stabs Randy to death left-handed. This is another clue to her agenda in framing Mickey and escaping, as Mickey himself is left-handed, connecting him to the crime (and is mentioned as left-handed in a deleted scene). Even something as trivial as to the hand used to stab victims, which is noticed in an autopsy. After Cici's death, Nancy is seen writing with her right hand as the famous "Red Right Hand" song plays, a hint towards her role as framing Mickey in the killings. 5. Mrs. Loomis being the second killer was hinted the entire movie she only speaks to Gale, she never writes anything down, and she indicates the killer is from Woodsboro. 6. Sidneg continues to wear Derek Greek letters in his memory for several years, right until the climax of Scream 3 (2000). During the events of Scream 4 (2011), she is no longer in possession of the necklace she has finally moved on. 7. Gene Siskel and Roger Ebert (film critics) loved this movie. Siskel never gave good reviews to horror movies, particularly not slasher movies, and he criticized Scream (1996). Ebert almost never gave slasher movies good reviews. The fact that both of them liked this movie is a small miracle. 8. Before Randy is killed, the killer states that he won't "get the girl". Randy stated earlier in the film that if he could change something about the movies, it would be that "the Geek would get the girl," indicating that the killer must be a classmate of his. 9. Despite not being mentioned by name, Mickey's shadow looms over Sidney's life even in Scream 3. On the DVD commentary for Scream 2, Wes Craven revealed that Mickey was the reason that Sidney went into hiding during the events of Scream 3, as he had "(messed) with her head" to such an extreme degree. This is also likely because Mickey was a random psychopath who tracked her down and actually befriended her before killing her best friend, Hallie, and her boyfriend, Derek. Unlike Mrs. Loomis, who would have went after Sidney anyway due to a personal vendetta, the frightening prospect of more copycats like Mickey coming after her drove her into hiding. 10. Had the script not changed, Hallie would have been the first African-American Ghostface, a title that was given to Jamal Elliot from the third season of the television series. 11. The original script of Scream 2 said that Hallie was to be one of the murderers, along with Derek Feldman (who she was in a secret relationship with) and Nancy Loomis.

Warner is also noteworthy for playing two different characters in two of the "STAR TREK" films: Federation Ambassador St. John Talbot in "STAR TREK 5" and Klingon Chancellor Gorkon in "STAR TREK 6", and similarly starred as two different characters in two films about the RMS Titanic: The historical 2nd Class passenger Lawrence Beesley in "S.O.S. TITANIC" and the fictional secondary villain Spicer Lovejoy in Jim Cameron's "TITANIC".

  • Really love Scream 2 for the representation! We get 4 black characters with fun and interesting personalities and memorable moments. Love the blacks in horror chat Maureen and Phil are having at the start. Halle has some funny and supportive moments as does Joel! Also the one redeeming thing about the cafeteria scene is Sid’s face. Just look at her and ignore the rest lol. She’s so damn happy and we never see her this expressively happy again. Loved seeing our girl get a moment of levity, love and laughter after what she’s been through❤

  • I have watched this video probably a dozen times and I just now caught the Deadwood reference for Timothy Olyphant. This is why I love James's videos, always something new to make the viewing better

  • Thank you, I legit can't STAND the singing cafeteria scene. I'm tired of people saying it's good!

  • You easily deserve to hit 10 million subscribers just from this video alone James. The ending with Chelsea and Zoran was phenomenal but this video could potentially have my favourite line of yours of all time, when Sarah Michelle Gellar is being killed - "Daphne goes Splatne" Beautiful. Simply beautiful. Have a cigar.

    • Me too, I don't think they even mention her, you'd think Dewey and Sydney would mention their sister and best friend respectively

  • Love it about how he doesn’t over hype the product with sponsorships he’s honest. He says the taste is alright only saying he thinks it’s worth it due to the benefits
