Did he just turn up there and then or has he been ignoring the extra dimension falling for the sky till right then just standing there going what do I do till someone tells him what to do and upsets his feelings 😂 Nothing about that role makes any sense to me and would be no loss to lose that scene at all

  • This is typical Captain America. A guy wearing a cartoonishly patriotic suit shows up holding a shield and starts talking. No one takes him seriously until they witness him in action, after which they follow him without question. It was this way in the comic books, it was this way on TV (X-Men Animated Series), and it was portrayed perfectly in the MCU. I love seeing it.

    • There was a comic book series put out by Marvel in the 1980s called Contest of Champions. All of Marvels Super Heroes and villains were kidnapped and taken to some location on another plane to battle. At the start, Prof. X and Mr. Fantastic had a meeting and decided immediately that Captain America should lead the super heroes. Wolverine became upset ("He's the weakest of us all and you want us to follow him?") Within a few minutes even Wolverine had to reluctantly admit that Cap knew what he was doing.

    • @@jahrusalem3658 That was only revealed about 20 years ago in Wolverine Origins. Contest of Champions came out in 1982 and Wolverine was more of a hothead back then. If I remember C of C was originally intended to be a celebration of the 1980 Olympics (the superheroes were supposed to take part in one Olympic event) but when the US boycotted the games they postponed it and came up with this storyline.

  • I'm guessing that whole Captain America being defrosted thingy still didn't set on everybody's mind yet. I mean, the moment Cap is running in the middle of streets at the end of first Cap movie probably already creating a buzz, but when SHIELD is involved, information might just been filtered, since SHIELD at that time try to prioritize Cap's recovery. So, I'm not surprise if that cop just assume Cap is just some random guy with costume and not Cap himself.

  • This is the first time Captain America has really been seen in public since WW2. It's no wonder that the first reaction was "Who the fuck are you?!". And consider the rest of them: Black Widow - Lady no better equiped than the police with no noticable badge of authority Hawkeye - as above, but "...this dude doesn't even have a gun - he's got a fucking long bow..." Hulk - probably mistaken for an attacker Thor - "Did the renn fair let out early?" The only one that might have some recognition with the authorities would be Tony Stark - and even then, they know he's essentially a private citizen. He's got no authority to order anyone round.
