You can really see how RDJ's sense of humor built the MCU. His tempo, pace, and subject matter, it all became the gold standard of MCU jokes.

"What does Fury want me to do, swallow it?" is still one of my favorite Bruce Banner lines of all time. I love Avengers 1's take on Banner as a sardonic, jaded person who's this odd mix of self-assured and self-loathing.
Fury: It worked once, why not twice?
the problem with having bruce banner as a character is that hes incredibly polarising, he's either the biggest threat of whatever media hes in or a complete joke, its difficult to land the sweet spot with him and while the avengers (being one of my favourite movies) did a good job at taking him to a unique place i can tell that it would have gotten old quickly and left little for his character to go
Despite how iconic and hilarious the scene at 10:53 is, I think this actually does a nice job at showing how much leader material Cap is made of. Despite only knowing Hulk for a little bit, he was able to learn the best way to communicate with him without making Hulk upset or enraged.
It was also an excellent order in itself. Guiding Hulk to fight away from ground level not only draws enemy attention away from people trying to evacuate and helps out the only two original Avengers who can fly, but also reduces the chances of Hulk injuring bystanders by mistake.

I actually prefer the jokes in this phase of marvel, the jokes are part of the film not constant and in your face. They're also subtle. So great

Thor stated that Loki is his brother, in an emotional way, but when Nat said he killed 80 people in 2 days, Thor changed his statement to He's adopted syaing that Thor and Loki don't have a blood relation and that Thor dose not condemn his brother killing all these people.

This movie holds up so well. Crazy to think its been nearly 10 years.
The Avengers films have a lot of great comedic moments but if you watched this movie in a theater, you'd remember how hard the crowd laughed at Hulk throwing Loki around.

The humour in this film was top notch, it just feels so natural and unforced, it often works with the scenes and doesn't ruin the tension. You can tell where Robert Downey Jr carries the film's humour, allowing the other characters to still be serious in these scenes.
Fun fact: Chris Evans (Captain America) at the end credit scene when they're eating shwarma, you can notice hes hiding his face, in which case he was growing a beard for an upcoming role in snow piercer

5:10 There's some irony. Tony calls Thor "Point Break", which is funny because the same year this movie was released (2012) a remake of Red Dawn was released. Chris Hemsworth was in the remake, playing Jed Eckert, the same role played by Patrick Swayze in the 1984 film. Sawyze later appeared in the movie Point Break in 1991.

Black Widow acknowledging Tony’s statement about being a genius billionaire playboy philanthropist, makes it 10x worth it.
This was really such a dope movie. I remember watching this countless times and still enjoying it because it really does feel like what a first Avengers movie should be. Very nostalgic!

The scene where Banner rocks the cradle while he says "Well, I don't every time get what I want" breaks my heart. He knows that even if he is fertile, there's probably no woman who could survive the pregnancy, assuming the fetus inherited some form of his abilities.

Assuming the foetus inherited some of Banner’s abilities, he knew that no woman could possibly survive the pregnancy. Even if he was fertile. ( the scene where Banner rocks the cradle and says, “I don’t get what I want all the time” ) Breaks my heart! ❤️🥺😭
In retrospect it feels like it was a subtle call out to the comic where Betty passed away from radiation sickness while presumably expecting. Though being Ross was still around I can't imagine Betty died in the MCU following Incredible Hulk. So perhaps more indicative of how he's going to be alone without someone he can live alongside of and build a life together. Not mourning a person but mourning a dream.

Endgame literally proves you wrong though. Tony says everything special about Steve is the serum, and he proves him wrong by being worthy of Thor’s powers. Steve says Tony wouldn’t make the sacrifice play, Tony sacrifices himself to kill Thanos. Steve was always worthy, by that logic powerful.

Fun Fact: During the shwarma scene, the reason Cap isnt eating is because he was working on the Snowpiercer movie at the time so he had a full beard going. he was wearing a prosthetic jaw to hide it, but it looked terrible and he couldnt eat while wearing it so thats why hes sitting there looking bored. (It was also filmed in LA)
