I’m actually from Savannah, GA and there’s actually many stories surrounding Matilda’s death but the one that’s always passed as the “real story” is actually that Matilda caught her husband Francis in the slave quarters raping one of the slaves and began to scream at him eventually turn and running back into the house, to which he chased her in the house. Somehow during the fight she ended up “falling” into the courtyard. Francis claimed she killed herself because she couldn’t bare the thought of him cheating on her. 2 days later the slave he was raping was found hanging in the slave quarters and was passed off as a suicide even though her hands were tied behind her back.
Well that’s f*cking dark
Dam that very dark, also what the other stories about Matilda before this dark story. 😳
My family and I were just in Savannah and heard this theory as well. I’m surprised they didn’t talk about it since there is proof of molly living there and the carriage house is still there.
That's f*cked up
We may argue about the vagueness of ghost evidence, but we have indisputable evidence that men are garbage.
Plot twist: The ghost is actually filming them
We’ve all suspected that Shane is a demon, but what if the cameraman is the demon?

It's almost amusing how they go to all of these "most haunted place in America" type locations and almost never get anything more than the odd bump and knock. Shane in particular seems completely unphased by every location. And yet, here we are, watching anyway. Some in hopes that they eventually see something that cannot be explained, others just wanting to see a couple of jackasses being jackasses (a term I use with the utmost respect, for the record).
well you won't get a proof everywhere they go, but in some places like waverly it was very evident
This is exactly why I watch and love them, for sure. I'm totally on Shane's end of the belief spectrum (aka lack thereof), but I still enjoy watching these vids for Ryan's reactions. It's the same feeling I get and love from playing scary games with my friends, where I don't really find them scary, but I love hearing my pals scream about it. It's a good balance, plus their general lack of evidence makes it believable. I hate how a lot of 'ghost hunting' type shows always feel like stuff is only interesting if they find out evidence, so there's loads of stuff that's clearly faked and it ruins the whole thing. Unsolved has just enough to keep believers thinking there might be something (like Ryan does), and stuff that's fairly easily explained away for the rest of us (like Shane), and even when there's nothing happening, they're entertaining enough anyway.
Lol tbh I watch them because they (especially Shane) are funny asf, and they never add in BS for views

@@gabrieleriva651 But where’d the homeless guy go off to?

It's the only plausible thing Ryan has ever caught, as far as I can remember. I'm not saying it's absolutely a ghost, but you can definitely see _something_ blocking out the light on the other side of the stairs. It may not be particularly impressive to the skeptics out there. But I would at least be motivated to investigate further if I had seen that myself. If only to prove it was in fact some guy walking around outside. It really is a shame that Ryan's camera wasn't in a better position lol

@@McGeeTV but they say that "theres no way you can get up to upstairs" in the video? so Im confused on how they "permanently" live in upstairs and stuff, but I tell you this stuff sounds fake really
@@Yo-ps2pf yea i’m not sure. My guess is that was just their way of trying to explain their way out of going upstairs since maybe it was off limits or something. As far as I know the place has a very dark history but I think some of the paranormal activity is a bit exaggerated
I've watched investigations where people are reported to smoke, they have put a lit cigarette or cigar in something to hold it and offered it to the spirit and the cigarette has burned as if someone was smoking it. Maybe next time you go somewhere where the smell of smoke is reported, you could try it? (Please like so they can see)
Gina Loves random shizzle I don’t think they’d be aloud to smoke
If it's already lit that will prove nothing. A lit cigarette will continue to burn, and with an undulating air flow, there may be times when seems like it's burning more.
In Albania we have sort of a Death Day, where we go and see our dead loved ones graves. Mostly grandparents. We clean the graves and we put flowers and candles and sometimes we put things they really liked like cigarettes.
umm they only investigate for a night.. if you wanna catch even a glimpse of evidence you'd have to investigate a haunted building for at least a year tbh. Cameras rolling everywhere 24/7... ghost encounters are extremely rare, you'd be lucky to have a truly paranormal experience once let alone multiple experiences throughout a lifetime.

Reminds me of the one and only time a friend and I tried using a quija board, okay so it was a "fully functional" key chain with planchette. It was March, many, many years ago. Are you a leprechaun? - Yes Who are you? BLT. So we got a leprechaun who identified as a BLT sandwich. And that ended that.
The camera man is the most fearless individual in this show.
Aneesa HONESTLY
Aneesa I know right! Can't believe he can go through this!
Hanna Ruth it's called a paycheck! Lol
it’s adam
Aneesa i was kidding oh my god sorry
As someone who works at a reportedly haunted historic home, I watch this all with the knowledge that somewhere behind the camera there’s a bored docent playing on their phone
I have been here, the surgery room definitely made me feel extremely strange especially the corner where the wheel chair was. I almost felt like I was going to burst into tears at any moment. The tour guide told me after that a woman has been seen in that corner behind the chair, I got chills 😳
So uhhhh we not gonna talk about the footsteps, speaking and barking from upstairs? That was left quite abruptly
Kirstin Opal Probably some homeless people
VioletFzs people has been saying that it is impossible for a homeless to be there cause , they open a tour for tourist
VioletFzs if it’s condemned to the point where people would fall through the floor I’m not sure how homeless people could get past that
Kirstin Opal we don't know that that's actually true though, it's just what Ryan was told. And there's no guarantee you'd fall through the floor, even if it's a risk. There could easily be someone up there.
Stephanie Rideout true. Either way it was freaky lol
I’m waiting for the day where something seriously scary and real happens and in the next episode when Ryan says “To answer the question: are ghosts real.” And Shane nods instead of shaking his head I would LOSE MY MIND.

It'll never happen because ghosts don't exist.

This place is right across to the building where I had all my college classes. So glad I didn't know any of this until after I graduated and left Savannah.
Who came here just to watch the ghost from what Ryan was saying from the post-mortem?
I still don't think Shane would be convinced even if a ghost appeared right in front of him.
Liz # Ghost: *violently shakes Shane* Shane: Jeez, it must be really windy in here!
AHAHAHA I'm just like shane
which won't happen, because ghosts don't exist
Shane could be dragged down the stairs by a demon/ghost and would sit on the floor afterwards like "Whoa! Crazy wind today isn't there?"
I thought you meant Shane Dawson for a moment 😂
Y’know, this isn’t as spooky when you’ve been to the house and found out that there’s offices upstairs and they have an office dog...
Fionna and Cake Cosplay yeah the landlord also lives there so he or she could just be fucking with people like Shane and Ryan
The upstairs is condemned, and the dog made it even scarier.
@@Ridley369 not completely. I've been there and asked the tour guide about the episode and she said that they have offices upstairs and they told Ryan and Shane not to put that in but they did anyway.
Fionna and Cake Cosplay tea 👀
@@fionnaandcakecosplay Most likely Buzzfeed forced them to
So you’re telling me that the ghost replied with a very clear “I was strangled” at 9:27 and they didn’t pick up on it ? After asking about what happened to them
oftentimes, when Ryan and Shane visit these places, my biggest concern is that a less-than-friendly living person is in the building as well, and they might hurt the boys. there's clearly someone living in the condemned upstairs, possibly somebody dangerous. that's my only concern, tbh
Check out the trip advisor reviews. It is the groundskeeper person. The upstairs is not condemned
*Ryan is being pummled by floating furniture* Shane: is there a window open?

Dude, after living in Savannah, Georgia for 4 years. You learn that the whole city is haunted, and every civilian just treat ghosts as having another casual roommate.
I just moved out of a place that was built in 1899 and when i was home alone with just me and my dog, i'd sometimes hear stuff slamming around downstairs. I just kinda went "nope" or yelled "PAY SOME FUCKIN RENT" down the stairs until it stopped.
I've lived in Savannah my whole house and literally none of this freaks me out anymore. It's kind of just normal😂
Life* not house. 😂
Oh hell no Georgia is not the place for me trust I hear one MF footstep or noise that isn't me or can't be explain logically I'm moving out.
Jennyun Did you go to SCAD too?
Who’s here after season 7 true crime post-mortem finale?!
Around 9:22 Ryan ask for a response and the voice says back “I’m responding “ 🤯🤯🤯🤯

Can't forget Meat Balls from Villa Montezuma lmao
what if one day they film an episode where they are faced with a friendly ghost who just wants to chill. They both get proof of the supernatural. The ghost explains everything that happened at the location... but they can't make a video out of it... because then the mystery is SOLVED
I wonder how many episodes they couldn't air cause they had legit proof
that’s the day the show ends
This makes me scared and not scared at the same time.
man true. but they could still make unsolved videos. I'd still watch tbh
@@thathuskydoggo2430 There has never been a "legit proof" of a ghost, if they did have legit proof then they're obviously going to show it coz that's the whole point of a "proof", plus its only going to make them a lot of money so idk why would they not show the proof ? Oh yeah, coz they don't have one.
Shane and Ryan are the best team. If you had two people afraid of nothing it wouldn't even be a thing, two people afraid and nothing would get done/ they would feed off each other's fear, but one of each is perfect. You have one that will jump at everything and the other to keep the ball rolling

I actually went to the house today and asked my tour guide about them being here. She told me that the dog barking was her bosses dog bc he also lives in the building.
You ruined the whole ghost mood 😂
What about the footsteps?
@@Poisoneaterr The boss/caretaker lives upstairs. It's actually structurally sound, but people aren't allowed there because it's private quarters.
Seems like a major and sketchy fact for them to leave out (or downright lie about) :-/
And they didn’t bother to tell them ? They fr wanted them to shit their pants
I just visited tonight on an outdoor walking tour. The guide used to work there. Don’t think it’s a squatter. He said when he worked nights that he personally had to close all the doors and turn off the lights and sets the alarms. They would know if anyone was squatting.
Yeah but in a review I read online someone stayed at this house and they heard footsteps upstairs, one set of heavy feet and one set of light steps. And when they asked the Tour Guide about it, they told the people that there was a caretaker upstairs and they have a dog. So idk how I feel about this house, still creepy. But that may be why you “can’t go upstairs”
Just went here last night. Went in Molly's room (the house slave) and started balling uncontrollably. Our guide said that is common, more among women. I usually find logic in everything, but this house is definitely full of some heavy energy. The basement I could feel the melancholy vibe. Super emotional and you could just tell something bad happened there. He saw shadow man. He paces that breezeway. That's what they named the spirit. I could smell the cigars when I walked in the front door. A lot of things can be explained, others....absolutely cannot be.
I visited this house a long time ago, nothing can describe how lonely and sad this house feels. When I entered the basement I felt overwhelmed with sadness and grief but also anger, when I sat on the couch it was such a devastating feeling of nausea almost like I couldn't breathe, I felt like I was suffocating like a ton of bricks sitting on my chest. I still remember everything in this house as clear as day, even the smell.
Careful someone might bash you for believing in stuff. The skeptics who watch this show blow my mind
@@blakebraswell9095 lol. Right?! The skeptics are usually the ones who have never even been to savannah at all, nor have they ever felt something unexplainable. I literally have super chronic anxiety, but the heaviness I felt on my chest was insane. It felt like an elephant took it's foot off. Could be that I'm an empath, or that I allowed myself to be open enough to experience it. I went for my 40th bday, going back again this June, and we're staying at the Foley House Inn......the most haunted bnb in Savannah. Allegedly. Lol.
@@threeeyedfreak554 that is exactly how I felt in Molly's room, but yes.....deep sadness in the basement, with the faint smell of cotton....almost like fresh linens or baby powder. Definitely an experience I'll never forget.

one of these days, Ryan should just disappear when he's alone and let Shane freakout
