I love how people are coming up with every excuse possible for why Shane laughed at her story, other than the most obvious one... Remember, Shane doesn't believe in ghosts, so it's not that crazy to think he just simply found the mental image of a black, ghost blob picking up and throwing a dog against the wall humorous. It doesn't make him a bad person
Its objectively funny to imagine something that downright insane especially if you dont believe its at all possible. Im so tired of people being like “its not like he or anybody thinks its funny its just that _____” no actually it IS pretty funny
Thing is, I don't think that's it. I've watched every episode of this show at least 6 times, I have a pretty good impression of Shane Madej, and if he's sincerely laughing at something, he'll play it straight. The way he acted, it really seems more like an involuntary response, and he immediately walks it back.

I remember about this house. Several TV show ghost hunting groups have investigated and got nada... They also couldn't find any paperwork in regards to her offer of selling the house for a dollar either. Now, you can pay her to go in the house and hunt for ghosts yourself. She's also written a book too... That says to me she's out for money and is cashing in and she honestly hyped up this place to make money off of it. I doubt anything is actually there.
One thing I find strange as well is that at 10:26, she says she never believed in the paranormal, but her bio on the Bellaire House Tours website says she's a "profound psychic medium." 🤔

I'm with Shane in that I don't believe anything that anyone claims happened to them when they wake up in the night. I get sleep paralysis, and the visual and auditory hallucinations can be *very* convincingly real. For a supposed professional psychologist to say there was *no* rational explanation available makes me question her even more. Even Ryan doesn't seem convinced on this one.
Witness Testimony is the weakest form of proof. And yeah its astounding that she is a professional psychologist.

It doesn't sound like the woman is lying or anything, but I will say two of her biggest paranormal moments could be explained by sleep paralysis since she was just waking up at the time & your mind tends to fill in the blanks when you're already in an incredibly creepy haunted house. For instance, she could've heard her dog squealing next to her while asleep, half-dreamed that her dog got thrown off of her and suddenly woken up to see her dog rolling on the floor, but think he was recovering after getting tossed. Sleep paralysis can be a common reason for false sightings, probably another reason why Ryan never sleeps in these eps.

@@icycold7732 Have you ever woken up like that before? Where your mind is operating but your body won't move. You're still partially asleep/dreaming though so you're mind tends to hallucinate despite being semi-conscious. It's not just shadows and I don't know if I've ever had sleep paralysis where my eyes were open anyways considering you can't move your body including your eyelids. The concept of it can be frightening to begin with, but imagine then being in a creepy house that you believe is haunted. If you're terrified enough of your surroundings, you're conscious mind will identity that fear while you're in your half-dreaming state and you're mind will absolutely play tricks on you if your thoughts are mixed with an overwhelming sense of fear. Have you ever been so scared that you got paranoid of things that weren't even there? Well, it's exponentially worse when you're experiencing sleep paralysis
@@icycold7732 as someone who has suffered sleep paralysis, "seeing shadows" isn't exactly correct. I've not hallucinated during an episode. It's more like...waking up in a panic attack, and not being able to move or make noise. But I could definitely see misinterpreting visual stimuli in the moment.
I guess the dog had some substantial sleep paralysis injuries from her as well. She talks about her dog being severly hurt during that event on a different show.

Im hoping it was a joke. I make jokes like that but I am not a violent person at all. Also, she was not offering them therapy so of course she'll act differently at work vs not at work. If she does this to patients, I agree, horrible therapist. i will say, with sleep paralysis - a whole slew of things can occur. my friend had a sleep paralysis episode where she was being dragged off the bed and remembered having to crawl back onto the bed, and the entire thing felt real, but none of it actually happened. she has had other instances where shes seen and felt her legs being lifted into the air, but none of it actually happened. so i wouldnt be surprised if she thought she saw her dog fly across the room and felt her dogs claws on her chest, but none of it was actually real. sleep paralysis is incredibly complex to describe and understand for someone who does not experience it. but put it this way. you can see and feel EVERYTHING, but the person next to you can see NONE of it happen.

I think Kristen is lying. During the dog story it seems like she gets the details between the dog and the ghost confused with each other. She keeps jumping between "the dog did this" and "the ghost did that" and she is not very clear as to who did what. She also keeps shaking her head no during most of the story. I also think she keeps bringing up the fact that she is a psychologist to give herself some credibility and to make sure everyone believes what she says afterwards.
