It’s finally happened… We’ve got our hands on a Koenigsegg for a carwow drag race!!
We’ve got Mat lining up in the Koenigsegg Agera RST, and he’s about to go head-to-head against a Tesla Model S PLAID and a supercharged Suzuki Hayabusa!
So let’s see how these three monsters compare, and of course, we’ve got to start with the Koenigsegg! It’s powered by an incredible 5-litre twin-turbo V8 that delivers an eye-watering 1,360kg and 1,573Nm of torque. It’s equipped with a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox and sends all of its power to the rear wheels. It’s also super light, tipping the scales at 1,395kg, and it’s easily the most expensive car Mat has ever drag-raced, with an estimated value of £3,500,000!!
Alongside it, we have the Tesla Model S Plaid. It’s equipped with three motors, and they combine to put down 1,020hp and 1,420Nm, with all of this power being sent to all four wheels. Naturally, being electric, it’s weighed down a bit by the batteries and motors, and as a result, it weighs in at 2,190kg.
Then finally we have the Hayabusa. But this is no usual Suzuki Hayabusa! It’s had a supercharger fitted to it, and as a result, its 1.3-litre 4-cylinder engine produces 385hp and 280Nm of torque! This power is sent to the rear wheels, and of course, it’s oh-so light, weighing in at 257kg.
So how will this one play out - will the electric power of the Tesla propel it to victory? Or will either the Koenigsegg or Hayabusa sneak it? There’s only one way to find out… LET’S RACE!

It doesn't even need a rematch. Throw on longer swingarm and turn the boost up (320 hp is safe, it could easily do 400 for a race run), and itl destroy both cars no issues.

That TTS bike isn't even set up for drag racing. They kept it almost stock geometry wise. A stock hayabusa can run a 9.7 1/4 mile. If it was lowered and stretched out it would probably run a low 9 second. Still 9.7. on a airstrip is impressive.
Rider who does not know how to launch it, like expected. If its not stock wheelbase 8 seconds, then you dont know how to launch. Only pro can do 8 sec with stock wheelbase without supercharge or turbo, but strapped front.

Please dont bring assetto fiorano pack sf90 or 296gtb to drag races,because of too much downforce and fixed multimatic dampers from race car category for better cornering; these track focused ferraris are not good for straight line drag racing and hard accelerations; instead use regular sf90 and 296 gtb;6 month earlier matt did 9.6 seconds ¼ mile in regular sf90 from scc private members;this time both matt and yiani did 9.9 seconds in assetto fiorano pack sf90;

The Agera was absolutely awesome to see and rather exciting; the whole race of coarse! Mat is a cool gent, for lending absolutely Fab car! I would have been scared if someone were that close to the Agera. Great race chaps!

The bike was faster in all races.
The bike won all of them bar the brake test... no need for a repeat rolling race as that would have shown it's biggest gap margin tbh.
Also another brake test. I've rode for years, that bike should be able to stop on a dime even if you lock up the rear brake. In fairness, I haven't ridden much on bikes with ABS so that may play a factor

I had zero interest in the Rimak until that look on your face! I've driven a number of the 911s you've featured, including the Turbo S, If that thing blew your mind it must be astonishing. It's well out of my price range, and more importantly it's far more power than I have ever driven or could use on a track without following the drive with by the memorial service, but wow was that fast!
As a former Hayabusa rider, I can attest that going flat out is as terrifying as that first drag race looked like it was. I miss it, but I am still here to type this, so yeah.

trying doing it on a gt 750 even an old gs 1000, when i got my katana1100 i though it had reached heaven. flat out at around 150 and wishing it could go faster. me99 back tyre probably narrower then the front one on a bussa. . still here as you say haha. not many are.

I like these race videos but it's hard to watch with all the cuts that only last 1 second or so. It would be nice to see the full race, one take, from different angles like drag times does.

I don't know what you were watching but that was by far the worst display of riding, this channel has ever seen. He almost hit Yiannie in the first race on a jump start and then bottled the next 2 launches. He didn't put his head behind the screen at all and was hanging off the side in the roll race. That bike will pull straight under acceleration if you're in the bubble. Either way, the bloke is lucky to be alive after that. Also lowering the rear like that, is the reason it was horrible under braking. No skill and a poorly setup bike= big problems

I don't think there would have been a significant difference. The power wasn't the problem, the traction was. They estimated it still had 1250 HP. 2WD with that much power is like driving a razor blade.

Power wouldn’t have made a difference. The early Koenigseggs and Ageras are notorious for not getting their power down properly.
Just let the owner drive it, if he crashes it, he will be the only one really worried.

I wasn’t there so I dont know what the temp, surface, or wind conditions were. Saying that I will also note that a bone stock busa off the showroom floor can do mid 9 second runs. I have done high 9s on my mildly tuned gen 1 on an unprepared runway and I was focused on half mile speeds. Just a bit surprised by the poor numbers.

I love to see the races but a word to the editor. It would be nice to see the FULL race without cuts from the drone perspective or another perspective. It’s hard to tell how they are matched with all the cuts. Overall great video! 😊

I think it was cut like this on purpose. Something is off that the Tesla gapped him that bad. We're obviously NOT getting the full story. At one point you can hear him just bouncing off the rev limiter in the Koenigseg for half a second.

The way that 2 TON plaid launches off the line and keeps pulling the way it does is seriously impressive. Just a shame it looks like every other model S out there.

True you can’t beat electric torque and 4 wheel drive. It’s weight also helps a bit tbh with the launch cause it keeps traction on the wheels and prevents them from spinning up

RWD Koenigsegg VS AWD Electric car, the Koenigsegg has way too much power and no weight, while Plaid has AWD + tons of weight, the bike also is tuned which is what impressed me
@Lada-cq2lr 720s or 675lt costs literally a tiny fraction of the Koenigsegg, and they are rear wheel drive as well. They will destroy the Koenigsegg in the quarter-mile. I think it is u acceptable that a car that costs that much does so poorly with traction.

@@justme307 there a model s plaids sitting on cargurus and autolist for 63k and for 120 days+ and no one is buying them. The truth is no one cares that it accelerates quicker. It's an ugly rear end of a car with no luxury or special feeling interior. Shih turns no heads and is a one trick poney. Only people that could never afford a real high end sports car thinks teslas are cool.
Teslas are just incredible. I’m no huge EV fan but a 4 door saloon doing that is mind blowing

UK videos, on the other hand, more than often use the imperial system. Something I can visualize. My exposure to the metric system lasted about a week in 5th grade. So I wish American made videos would exploit the closed captioning feature and translate their videos back to imperial units so I can enjoy them a little bit longer before searching out a UK video. I don’t know if you see this as dumbing down for American viewers, but I appreciate it with a Like an a new subscriber. 🙏

The Koenigsegg is sure to be an exhilarating joy to drive through winding mountain roads. I adore its exterior styling and the stunning blue paint, complemented by an equally gorgeous blue interior featuring carbon fiber accents throughout. While it may not be the fastest, I believe it stands out as the best overall in the race. Of course, the price tag reflects the exceptional quality and experience it offers. This is just my personal take on it. I would love a track day with the Koenigsegg.
the koenigsegg is the fastest, it's just the lack of initial torque when compared to the tesla and the hayabusa causes it to lose out in a quarter mile

Somehow people dont seem to understand that the koenigsegg is not built for dragraces, even less for launches from a standstill. That thing starts at speeds above 200kmh. Then, the traction becomes less of a problem because of all of the downforce. The roll-race showed a little bit of that.
The minute I saw the Koenigsegg in the thumbnail I had to click it immediately. Carwow always bringing in the best cars to drag race. Great setup Matt

This is a 1/4 mile drag race won’t matter. Furthermore even if they did a road course test, that plaid track pack doesn’t come with aftermarket shock absorbers and camber plates like the Nurburgring one.
The track pack makes it faster around a track, but all that aero makes is substantially slower in 1/4 mile.

That Hyabusa is just mind blowing! The rider was almost hanging fire off his knee, due to leaning it to counteract the torque! 380 HP on a bike! That's 200 more than a stock Yamahauler R1, which in itself is absolutely insane! But this! This is Zero to the tombstone in 4 twists of the wick! 😮
