    • I agree. For some reason I have more trust in their opinion on the subject than most other "tech and gaming"-channels on youtube. Just the fact that he uses HD800 is a good sign.

    • I don't think it's their speciality. Forums like gearslutz and sbaf do a lot more for you. There is some circlekjerking. Gearslutz is mostly pro gear, with a lot of studio people there (many prolific people under pseudonyms). Sbaf is more pleasure listening based, obviously there are some differences of opinion there based upon application. As a listener who isn't a producer, just learn to cut through the noise and find out what you want. Even the pro stuff has it's preferences based around what the producer uses to mix etc.

  • Loving my Sennheiser game one's, except for the plastic creaking sometimes. Gotten used to it over time though. I previously had a HyperX Cloud one series that was fantastic and became the thing to beat. My game one's set a new bar for me. Love the open back design, the audio quality and the comfort. I like the design of the earcup cushions. Finally just seems right that someone figured this out. I can agree it looks a bit clunky but doesn't really bother me. Only matters how it feels on my head and how it sounds.

  • Dmitry, I completely agree with your sentiments about open-ended vs closed. When this headset becomes available in an open-ended version, I may think about purchasing it to replace my Sennheiser Game One headset (which I love)! My Game One headset still works great, but I noticed the specs, such as Frequency Response are a tad better on these. Wonder if that translates to noticeably improved sound quality?

  • The metallic highlights on the GSP 600s have me confused. They seem like an awesome-looking burnt orange in this video, but on both the company product page and related video they appear to be red? I'd much rather have them be orange but there are no color options available on the pre-order screen so I'm not sure what to make of it... perhaps this was a "demo set" with a slightly different color to distinguish that?

  • The 820 with a Mod mic is actually my dream setup. Perfect for music and gaming. I tried open back before but there's just a bigger punch in sound with closed headphones that I really like. Too bad it's over 2K, I find it more reasonable around half that. Would love to pick these up.

    @solara2966@solara29666 жыл бұрын
    • They probably priced it that high because Sony sells their flagship headphone for 2200$. I'd suggest to buy it used in a year or two. Everyone I've seen so far thinks the 820 is overpriced so the street prices should come down fairly quickly.

  • "budget" 250

    @ethan02lee@ethan02lee6 жыл бұрын
    • KeweKrypto 12 If budget just means an amount of money, why even use the word? Instead of saying "budget", you might as well just say the price. If budget can mean any price point, the word becomes worthless and pointless.

      @winfieldk6692@winfieldk66926 жыл бұрын
    • budget to me implies that it's a good option when you're on a low budget.. when people talk about "budget products" they're implying that it's cost efficient and proobably on the cheaper side for that product market.. they are almost never implying that it's an expensive budget. I know budget CAN just mean whatever your cost threshold is, but that's not the common use of the word in this context.

      @iu7860@iu78606 жыл бұрын
    • yeah budget is used to emphasize the lower price point. budget does not refer to the amount something is. whats your budget - $80 etc

    • KeweKrypto 12 you've confused two meanings of the same word...

      @TheSometimeAfter@TheSometimeAfter6 жыл бұрын
    • But that isn't what the word inherently means. That's the fault of the person interpreting vs what the word actually means. Context when used in other situations should not by default set the tone for all others. Words have context for a reason, and that context should be just as flexible as the word. If they wanted to say cheap, they would have.

      @solara2966@solara29666 жыл бұрын
    • HardwareCanucks has got experience with the Sennheiser HD 650 and HD 598. I am pretty sure that Sennheiser can hook them up with more headphones. In this particular case it is interesting whether or not the sound quality of Sennheiser its $250 gaming headset equals that of the less expensive Sennheiser HD 598. Generally speaking my impression is that those headsets should be avoided, I hope that this gaming headset is an exception. I am pretty sure that those of the non headhpone brands (Steelseries, Corsair, ...) should be avoided. As I said, that is a suspicion, it is up to reviewers to show whether or not that is correct.

      @peterjansen4826@peterjansen48266 жыл бұрын
    • Peter Jansen you also can't take their words for recommendation though, audio is such a subjective subject and a personal preference. He can say they're great and even do sound qualities but they're never truly projected properly on suppress videos. You have to be in the same room to truly know what it's like. I'm sure he'll do a review when he gets a set down the line

      @solara2966@solara29666 жыл бұрын
    • There certainly are good ways to compare audio objectively though they would need to get new equipment and learn new skills. That doesn't mean that the better sound is better to everybody but it does say something. However, I would trust their judgement on the audio quality and they can let us hear it if their microphone and mixer board etc. are good enough. At least that would be interesting to the people who have good sound. Don't get me wrong, audio partially is subjective but just partially. A headphone which transfers all characteristics and frequencies clearly is better than a headphone which can't produce the lower frequencies/higher frequencies or richter guitar and percussions sounds (something which the Sennheiser HD 700 excells at). Whether or not you perfectly hear the sound of a piano or guitar, as if you are in the room, that is just objective. Wether you prefer a base which is a bit heavier or you prefer more clariy in the mid/high frequencies, that is a matter of taste, that is where the subjective part comes into play. They asked us what we want them to review, that is my answer. Is such a comparison perfect? Hell no. Is it better than nothing? Of course. Though there are many audio reviewers and they are better at it it would add value if a KZhead-channel like theirs would do it too, just to 'educate' gamers and other hardware enthusiasts on sound. Anyway, I recommend everybody to try out a good headphone. Go to a store (bring your own music!), borrow one from a friend. Take this from me - being somewhat of an audiophile - people who have good cans love to demonstrate the sound to friends and loved ones, they want them to enjoy it as much as they do and the more people get into good cans the more affordable those get.

    • I actually paid 180 euros with shipping for the game zeroes

      @Billys11@Billys116 жыл бұрын
    • Bk Blindside after extensive testing and trying the top 12 gaming headsets (Amazon must hate me), wired and wireless ranging from $90-$300 I learned that the MOST important feature (for me) is comfort first, then sound quality. I cannot have fun if I'm adjusting the headset every 2-3 minutes, I really wish I wasn't so sensitive in that area. Out of all the ones I've tried the the game ones are the only ones that don't hurt my ears after a while. The zero did not hurt either but they just didn't sound as good and also my ears got pretty warm. Sadly the hyper x alphas also hurt my ears after about 45 minutes, those sound much better than both the Sennys, and for half the price! But.... They hurt my ears. So now I wait for the gsp600s to arrive. If they're more comfortable then the game one then I guess I'll be looking like an comfy Autobot while I play 🤖

      @BRAND1SH@BRAND1SH6 жыл бұрын
    • I have medium/small sized ears but then again I have the cloud II which may be more accommodating and comfortable than the alpha. The clamp on the cloud II is just a tad more than I'd like to feel but I imagine I could relieve that by stretching them out. Either way I wear them for 8-10 sessions and rarely feel the desire to take them off.

  • After extensive testing and trying the top 12 gaming headsets (Amazon must hate me), wired and wireless, ranging from $90-$300 I learned that the MOST important feature (for me) is comfort first, then sound quality. So now I wait for the gsp600s to arrive and have a pair of hyper x revolvers coming tomorrow in hopes that their bigger cups can fully envelope my wussy ears. If the 600s are more comfortable then the game one then I guess I'll be looking like an comfy Autobot while I play 🤖

  • i use Teufel Aureol Massive (made in Berlin/Germany) & Beyerdynamic DT990 feat. Antlion Mod Mic V.4 with mute switch. The Teufel are for loud surroundings, while they are closed headphones. While being closed, they very dampening. I think maybe one usecase was low-cost DJ headphones..they are very heavy and robust (they can take a beating). the soundstage is very bass heavy. got them in a sale for 70€ . The DT990 on the other hand is an open, verly lightwight headphone. very clean and clear soundstage.maybe a little bit weak on the bass side. thx to the open stage ond clear sound, its very precise. also in chat you are able to hear youself, what i really like. its more natural. also you dont miss the post-man, while he is ringing. The mic itself...you watch here on youtube. its very good mic. so i created my own headset. if you are asking: how are you able to use the mic on both headphones? they have made the mic detachable with a little magnet, and you can get extra kids, with additional magnets and clips. so i am able to switch the mic to the headphone i like to use.
