I'd play a 3-6-1 with Garnacho as a false 9, with a back 3 of Dalot, AWB, and Evans, and a midfield 6 of Amad right wing back, Antony left wing back Mount / Cas and Amrabat as CDMs, and Bruno and Maino as attacking mids. At a minimum, that team and structure would be defensively solid.

I would like to see a 4-3-1-2. Two strikers up top (Hojlund & Garnacho), 1 CAM (Bruno), 3 Cm (Maino, Mount , Casemio/Amrabat), Dalot, Evans, Willy, AWB. I think that sets us up with more bodies in the middle of the pitch, to help Casemiro/Amrabat from getting completely overrun. We can stretch the Arsenal CBs with dual strikers, and Bruno can play in the pockets where he actually likes to play.
But it's not going to happen he is going to start the same lineup

True. He was signed as a free agent to be a backup for Bruno I think, but since we lack options in midfield we had to play him. He had a decent first season, but Casemiro was still good that season. Now the teams falls with their decline.

The main problem which I think ETH has failed to address is that huge acre of space in midfield which most opponents tend to have a field day exploiting... I think Amrabat ought to be given an opportunity due to his athletism...

I find it strange that people really believed that we would win against CP. Casemiro and both Evans are far below the standards of Man United. Its only the headers of Casemiro that contributes to the game but apart from that he offers nothing that is on the level that is required. Wan Bisaka on left back is a major problem for our build up play I would even suggest to give those minutes to Harry Amass because the season is already lost. We have to accept that this United is just not going to be any better untill Martinez Shaw are back and in the summer we need players who can compete with them and a replacement of Casemiro and Varane.

He should have started against Palace, I was surprised by Antony being picked over him, but am sure it will be same bad selection again.
Not to say Antony isn't a good pick actually, but ten hag doesn't always pick the right players to fit certain games, though on the other hand he has sometimes surprised me and made choices that went in his favour and got the results. It's a shame his consistency can be as bad as the players.

Wonderful! I finally see a wise fan when it comes to backing the manager! Well said. But I must also point out...Case experience would be magic in this team if this team actually had the right players with him that both respect he manager, game plan, and themselves to work hard, as well as respecting the club and worked to truley represent. Scholes...when his legs were gone he still performed with the right players around him that respected what they themselves had to achieve and that the goat legends won't carry them by name, they knew their place and understood that they had to put the work in to carry on the success of the team!

Mount with firmly midfield planting, instead of Garnacho. Everybody eats plenty of carbs the day before, yoga & calming whatever practice, gets their sleep, caffeine-pumped the next day, no-prisoners attitude. There's a def draw in this!😅 Someone answered a post after the City-Arsenal game, ignorance-ridiculing Arsenal as both a poor team and very boring...but I didn't bother to answer. The official stats showed, though, that the blue lot only managed ONE shot on target! They probably won't be as "boring" in this game, but if UTD achieve that shot, it might something to cheer.

Can someone answer this question what happened to our u21? Or we don't have u21 team? Why can't we get a natural young player from that position let them try, why are we running from trying them? Or using that option of playing some of these u21 team when our natural squad players are out injured?
Honesty, the best thing i can think of is to play a 4-2-3-1. Evans and Kambwalla at CB if they are both fit. Mainoo and Amrabat in the 2 to screen the defence. Garnacho, Bruno and Mount in the 3. With Hojlund up front. Compact, covering, but with the ability to break at pace.
I'd like to see that but ETH doesn't seem to trust Amrabat(tbh, he didn't inspire much confidence so far). But in the current situation he should get a chance at least.
@Redvil01 I agree. But if we are honest, ETH's decisions this season have been highly questionable. We can ALL see the issues in midfield, the gap between the front 6 and back 4, but ETH still hasn't even attempted to fix it. It's up to him of course, but his stubbornness and inflexibility might cost him his job.
@AntEloftheHouseofEl I would love to see eth come up with something to try to fix this now. Even if it's damage limitation, but if it does limit impact and we can see this working a little, then that could be a positive outlook for his future and the club.

The problem with united is the collective play. We all saw the lack of efficient passing which destroyed every single push for a whole 90 min. They don't know their teammates well and therefore cannot anticipate which is the right pass. Even a very simple pass forward is countered effortlessly. Garnacho is a talented player but still lacks that IQ to find his teammates. Mainoo probably played the worst game so far and i don't blame these kids at all, they are around 19 and still got a lot to learn. AWB is a calamity on the left, i honestly don't understand why ten hag switched him back to the left side instead of dalot. Mount still doesn't know his role on the pitch and him suddenly taking bruno's role affected his performance. Hojlund is lost forward, running around with no service and him unable to find a good position to receive the ball, i mean. The players around him just cannot cooperate with him, it's a disaster. I would put Martial back in the team, Garnacho still on the left with Amad on the right. Bruno should be back with Mainoo and Mount on dm roles with Amass, Evans as cb. Evans is still a far better cb than casemiro who has lost his touch and also out of position.

Not Casemiro’s fault that MU sucks. The players are not good. And wouldn’t be starting or even on the bench for most of the elite clubs.
I would like to think being at old Trafford you need a 4231 - with a bit of energy on the pitch to put Arsenal on the back foot and take control of the game. Have Amrabat and Mainoo, may not be the best partnership, as the 2 centre mids with Bruno playing number 10. With Mount playing on the right and Garnacho on the left with Hojlund leading the line. Not a clue on the back 4.
It has to be Casemiro at CB because if Arsenal play like they have all season, they will pin us for the entire game. We will be defending deep like against Liverpool and City so we need excellent box defending which Case and Evans are good at. I am still ETH in even if we don't win again this season but Amrabat HAS TO START. It will be more than a crime if he isn't starting. AWB at LB (against Saka), Casemiro/Kambwala, Evans, Dalot, Mainoo, Amrabat, Bruno, Garnacho, Højlund, Antony. Yes, I wouldn't start Amad because Antony is better defensively and we are going to need it alot!! That's the only thing I will judge. Amrabat has to start and uk like do a man mark on Odegaard like Fred on De Bruyne. My concern is that Arsenal won't let us get out. Saliba alone was enough for Haaland, Garnacho will be physicality wise mocked by White. Can't expect anything from Antony unless Zinchenko starts there. One more approach is that Garnacho and Hojlund play as 2 ahead with Bruno with a free role (like Vini, Rodrygo, Jude at Madrid) so that will get us an extra CM, which would be Mount who imo is one of the best off-the ball (when fully fit). Arsenal will form the box midfield and at times there are 5 in there with Havertz dropping deep. We need to have 4 players in the center. A miracle better than Madrid in UCL is needed if we need to get a result.

i really think the issue is the centre backs for us. At Ajax Erik rarely played a number 6 anchor. Schone and De Jong were not that kind of players, and Schone often go forward like Casemiro. Then again that Ajax team had good backline so the rest defense were good.

Play Amrabat, revert to last season's 4-2-3-1 with Mainoo #6/8 to gravitate away from a double pivot in possession and Amad up front. The defense has clearly needed extra shielding all season. A 4-3-3 keeps hurting us.

Are are players asked to overwork or is it the stress driven anxiety causing the injury. Club need to revisit the training regime or physio regime or even may be dieting system.

Removing Casemiro from CB and putting him in midfield doesn’t change anything. Im talking about individually and it will still cost the team. We need changes in management as well, look at Leverkusen xabi did an incredible job with the team. he brought a relegation team to a force in European football. I just finished watching their match with roma and they kept that unbeaten run.Ten hag spent £400million and it seem he has broken the team and xabi on the other hand spent only 80 and make a gem of a team.He bought Onana i know he is a excellent keeper but in place of De gea for playing from the back but to whom he will be playing to ?? and letting go Henderson ? I'm not sure I agree, based on how well he's done with players being available, and definitely some lack of coaching such as set piece and defending. I think he's had it tough this season, not all his fault. But I think that has progressed him in some ways and hopefully these last few big games he can prove that. Xabi already had a good team who were a bit in the dumps, his best asset was probably to instill a belief in those players. Ten Hag has not got a well minded group of players.
However there are some players that should be getting more of a shout than others.

4222 Let's be compact Onana dalot,Kwambala,Evans,Bissaka Casemiro, Amarbat Mainoo, Mount Hoijlund,Bruno In position Mount and Bruno can go wide as double 10's Bissaka and Dalot can make overlaping runs knowing they have cover from Casemiro and Amarbat. Mainoo's role collect the ball from Cas and Amar bring it to the front three. He can play that single pivot from the attacking point with the help from Dalot.

Casemiro received the welcome of a hero upon arriving to United now he's the villain.The problem lies elsewhere supporters are so fickle,they don't actually understand that there many other reasons when a player is not performing.
We as fans are so impatient and just want to blame whoever the media tells us to Every single thing at the club is wrong even the fanbase We have no right in talking about who should be the new manager all we can and should do is back the current manager and that is Ten Hag.If we can't back our club and its staff and cheer them up or at least be constructive with our criticism we don't deserve to support this club and certainly not parade our pride when the good times come.

The only chance would be a diamond midfield of Fernandes Mainoo Casemiro Amrabat And then we're left with an unfit Evans alongside a kid at CB. Casemiro can do a job in a midfield where he is protected, such as with Amrabat. The irony being he was once the greatest 'protector' around.
I want to see Louis Jackson in the backline instead of casemiro. Casemiro could even be moved back into the midfield that way.

Martinez has been training this week. If he is ready he has to start and be taken off after an hour. Rashford has also been training so he needs to go in team for an hour as well. If not then Amrabat in for Casemiro! I do have a feeling just like the Liverpool game Utd might pull off a shock this weekend and sadly hand the title to City.
Hojlund, Garnacho, Mainoo....the rest need to sit and watch. Call up the best young players to 1st squad and let them get the experience. We're going to lose anyway, from the looks of how we've played lately. Why not let the youth get some time on the pitch. I doubt I will watch anyway. After that performance against Crystal Palace, my time would be better served watching paint dry. Can't wait until this season is over. It has been hard to watch.

Those are our main injuries we're missing, the important player missing he did sign and that's martinez, who literally was our best cb before he got injured. We need the win. We will win on Sunday, and we will win the cup final against city. We will end on sixth place. 2025 will be a transformational year after which we will move into to 4 again. No, I did not drink cool aid. These players are not without quality, their manager is a great (not brilliant but good enough) tactic. But it’s not a team. It’s a patchwork of talents as a result of too many different managerial visions and preferences, and injuries don’t help. But, I injuries will stop, allowing the manager to at least put a team on the pitch. The red shirt, adds to the superpower. These people are all professionals, with a great pay, and a massive fan base backing them. They will pull through this end of the season. All the negative media attention the club gets, all the speculations, the bashing … it does not provide a great framework for the starting 11 to play in. So many haters and even good meaning loving pundits tearing the players apart … they will end this awful season on a high - because they can, because they want to. We reached the bottom last week, we can only go one way now.

Yes sam, you are right : there is no solution for upcoming games. Our defence is non existence vs Palace. And i don't see any updates on players fitness/availability for this game. So don't be shocked if eth have to put the same players again, unless he wants to play the young 18 years Jackson as replacement for casemiro. No manager/coach want to put midfielder as Centre back in regular basis if they have the option.
He had an option against Palace, should have overloaded on attacking players from back to front and gone gung ho, then put on a defensive stance later in the game as players were unfit and needed rest/rotation. He didn't, and we suffered! Against Arenal, well I don't know how to play that, maybe surprise them with that play.

I'm MU fan since Cantona still playing and i can say this is the worst injury condition I've ever see. 7 CB injured and only 1 old CB fit. 🙈🙈🙈. Against arsenal, i will be happy if we can get a point. At least Rashford still has his legs under him and can do some damage in the transition. At lot of our CBs and holding midfielders' legs seem to be completely gone, then again it's ten hag's fault for playing them in a system that constantly exposes them.

ETH has got plenty of options but he's tactically rigid. I'd play a 3-6-1 with Garnacho as a false 9, with a back 3 of Dalot, AWB, and Evans, and a midfield 6 of Amad right wing back, Antony left wing back Mount / Cas and Amrabat as CDMs, and Bruno and Maino as attacking mids.

Casemiro's fall from grace has been the fastest that I've ever seen. His form has fallen off of a fuckin cliff ffs. We need to go out and buy a CB and a CDM. Mainoo can cover there, but it's a bloody waste of his talent playing there. At CB, kwambala has all the physical tools and temprement to become an elite player, but we gotta go out and find a CDM. An elite CDM is probably the hardest position to find in this current market, but the truly great ones are the backbone of a team. Every elite team has a world class CDM. An elite CDM is what turns an elite team into a contender. We gotta go out and find one. One of our biggest transfer market mistakes was letting Ander Herrera walk. Fuckin stupidest decision by us in the past decade. We haven't replaced him since. Fucking joke of a front office. Our owners are a bunch of clowns as well.
