Raging Canal Spillway Fishing for Big Fish! (Arizona Canal Fishing)
Back with some Canal Spillway Fishing here in Arizona! We are getting the freezer full on the trout fishing this year, so we are starting the transition back to canal fishing videos around Arizona.
This canal spillway is a super cool place to fish, although the fishing was slow for us this day. I am sure there is a time of year where this spillway is loaded with fish. We managed our pb grass carp which I estimate from 18-20lbs.
They pull hard in these canals as the current is always rippin! Arizona canal fishing is something that never gets old to me, and provides consistent fishing action throughout the year. Catching big fish in the canals is so fun! Everyone can get out and do it!
The bates that got bites were the worms and bread, very reliable for the canals here in Arizona. Be sure and get out to do some urban canal fishing here in phoenix if you get the chance!

There’s a lake called ASU reaserch park lake it is one of the best lakes I fish and it is super clear with huge catfish and carp
I have heard lots about it! Haven’t checked it out quite yet
Way back in the day it had some huge largemouth in it but idiots would catch them and keep them even though it's always been catch and release

I use to fish carp in Yuma Az I used a 5 1/2 ft ultra light rod and the reel had 2 lb test I had my drag real loose so when the carp.hit my line he took off! I landed maybe 1 carp out of 10 But it was fun!!

If you go on Google maps, just follow the canal until you find areas with aerated water. Start close to home then just scroll along the canal until you see something like this. Then go try it out 😁

@@TheFishinMagician20 saw like a hundred carp and bout half a dozen catfish. No bass which is what i was there for. Never caught carp or catfish but one day ill land one.

I'm in Florence too. No good spots around here, not sure if the canals hold fish at all since they get drained a lot. you could drive out to the Gila river around Kearny/Winkelman....there's some nice catfish there. I usually drive out to the phoenix area to fish.

That looks very dangerous: alone, out of rescue sight from public, no life jacket, and, no safety rope tied off to buoy incase you fall in.
