Years ago I had a Samsung tablet that was magnetic on the back. What's new about it and what's from Apple?

I tried it with ESR case (one with the kickstand) and the NFC did not work with credit card terminals or for reading new cards into wallets. Mine is an Ultra and it also messes up the s-pen. Wonder if it damages the NFC components. The dashboard mount only charges at about 5 Watts even though they advertise "near official Apple MagSafe speed" (15 W, but then the manual says 10 W max -- hardly near 15 W -- and 5 W even further away.)
I'm a Spigen guy myself. They have a lot of great offerings along this line.
i bought one for my old phone, which worked great. but for my s23 ultra, most big name case companies provide specific ones with those magsafe rings already built in. mine is the clear case ringke, which is great!
no one mentions that anything attached to back of magsafe ring, could interfere with using s-pen at same time. So you have to take off any accessory attached first.

Not with the spigen one, I just got it for my s23 ultra and the spen works great even with the wallet on.

I use a cover by Mous that has it integrated into the cover. Cant recommend them enough, nice alternative to Otterbox and also has a numerous accessories too.
in my opinion magsafe is really good because you can change the accessories easily, however a magsafe case is most likely a better option for most people as that allows easy removal of the magnet simply by swapping to a different case edit: i for example have a magsafe case on my s22 and it has worked without issues
Have you experienced any issues with google pay when using it with your magsafe case and accessories on?

I agree ESR makes some really cool products. Currently rocking that alignment ring, and as Much as I wanted to use the ESR case with the kickstand on the camera, the alignment (as you noted) would not work. I need up using the magsafe alignment ring on another branded case. It makes my connection to magsafet chargers stronger than any other Samsung case. I do have to ask about the watch face....that was absolutely sick. would you mind sharing where you got it?

Thank you. My question was immediately answered by the first thing you went into. I just got an S23 (compact enough for me. Why all the phones gotta be gigantic now?) and ordered the ESR rings and the newer version of the ESR car charger that came with a dash mount as well as the vent mount. The ring guide's been updated for the S22s, but not the S23s, so I'm grateful for the info. The ring overlaps the camera lens opening of the case a bit, but it doesn't block the telephoto lens so it's all good to me. I haven't mounted the charger in the car yet, but I've plugged it in and snapped the phone to it. And it is quick wireless charging, so that's all working fine. So far, so good. Now I'm just hoping the dash mount will truly stick to my dash so I won't have to worry about running the heat with the vent mount. Wish me luck with that. lol

I finally grabbed a mous case; a bit pricey but good God the magnets are strong. Easily the most premium case I've owned I generally buy about 3 cases per phone.
I tried using the steelie magnetic mount with my note 10. and it caused an area on the screen that my spen wouldn't function on. even on the outside of a case. are there any issues using the spen on S23 ultra? with Magsafe attached?
I had a ring that came with a MagSafe capable portable charger that I got from work (free). I lined it up to my S23 ultra case, using the MagSafe charger and it works fine. I carry that and an iPhone 13, so I like being able to swap between each phone to carry my ESR wallet (I have the one shown in the video). I have no issues with the wallet covering any of the S23 Ultra cameras.
I will keep magnets away from my S22 ultra after problems with the S pen from a small magnetic catch. Looking at another demo some magnetic devices on the back of the phone were interfering. The problem will be if the phone itself is magnetised and I will keep my phone well clear of magnets because you never know what long term effects are building up over time. For me it is just far too expensive a device to take even minimal risk for the sake of gadgets.
It's absolutely a temporary effect and there's nothing that will be permanently harmed by the magnetic field. It just interferes with the tracking of the Wacom digitizer as well as the wireless charging of the S-pen (which means the pen could be dead and not usable for air actions if you've had a magnetic accessory installed for a long time). I've had a Magsafe case on my S23 Ultra without any permanent issues, and my Note 20 Ultra before that (for about 1.5 of the 2.5 years I owned it). I always have a magnetic ring attached by default, and just remove it if I need to use the S-pen or the S-pen is dead and needs to charge so it can reconnect for air actions.

Remember back in the 1999 the only phone accessories was a wired charger and a wired mono in ear headphone. Now there's accessories for the accessory.

I'm glad to learn this. Just got a new phone this week and had delayed because I liked the idea of Mag Safe and Air Tags with Apple and considered switching for those options. Instead we stuck with Samsung (S23+) so searching Mag Safe versions for it. I like having my license and cards attached to case, so will look into Spigen, as well. Thanks.

The ESR Halolock 3-in-1 charger described in this video no longer exists just 10 months later. They now have a new version that only supports apple devices and can't be easily modded to support samsung.

I am interested in not blocking the case with the ring of her? Will I be able to charge my Samsung smartwatch from Samsung S22 ultra with this case?
I have an important question: with the ring applied to the outside of the case (Samsung smartview flip case), will it not overheat like standard metal pieces for magnetic holders while wireless charging? Because that is a huge problem I have with my current car holder setup that uses a simple metal plate for the phone. When I put it in between the phone and the charger (Samsung original 15W charger) it overheats in like 10 seconds
This is an old post an not sure if you found the answer elsewhere, but you're likely not to experience that same heat up. The magnet sits around the charger itself as opposed to in between the charger and battery
Ty for brining up the fact that you can use your camera while a magsafe accessory is attached. I used my iPhone wallet on my Samsung S23U and it showed up in the photo.

I have the halolock on my S23 Ultra and its awesome! The ESR cryo charger is great as well. I have 1 in my Camaro and 1 in my Explorer, never had any issues with them. One thing to note, the cryo version has a fan inside and it's kind of loud if you are driving with the stereo off.

I'm confused by this because Amazon purchasers that have S23 Ultra are claiming it does not work with their phones. So what gives here? Does it or doesn't it work with the Samsung S23 Ultra?

but whenever i stick magnetic thing at the back of the phone, the stylus won't work on the coresponding screen of the area. sometimes the phone wont even detect that the stylus is back in the silo until i remove the magsafe accessories.

I have a s23 ultra, just letting all of you know that with most magsafe accessories attached, the S pen becomes useless. I was using a magsafe case and wallet an some extra magsafe accessories and ended up buying a normal case after 2 weeks cause I do use the pen a lot.

Does the car charger allow your phone to work with Android Auto in cars that require a data connection with the phone? Or will you need a separate USB connection directly to the phone?
Magsafe certainly isn't as well known in the UK. Most of the magnetic phone holders available here will not fit the magsafe. Personally I wouldn't touch it as you end up getting locked into their products as nothing else works with them.
I use the ring above the case and works perfectly.
Question for you what is the display case you have back there for your cell phones
If a charger can damage a product, then the product is cheap made. It's easy to put a zener diode or better conductor to control voltage and current. If they think about fastest charging, then they could put one type c and one proprietary socket.
The only accesoire i would be interested in would be a thin case,that would help cooling my phone

Has anyone used the Quad Lock Mag? I had been considering ESR for a case for my new Galaxy S23 plus. What I really require is a wallet that attaches to carry debit card, drivers, license at a minimum. Then I spotted the Quad Lock when searching phone holders for bikes as I recall searching last fall for my new ebike and tossing at least 2 mounts already. They offer plenty of bike mount options, selfie stick/tripod, runner's armband, etc but pretty pricey. Hope to hear some feedback. (The twist and lock original style seems ideal for a bike, but now they offer a magnetic option, as well.) Thanks.

The ESR Cryoboost Car mount includes a cigarette adapter with USB-A ports, but I thought USB-A was slower power delivery than USB-C. Can you confirm that the USB-A to USB-C for the cryoboost mount will actually do fastest charging possible for a iPhone with MagSafe?
I have a otterbox defender on my Samsung 22 ultra. Well this work with it. Plus if i understood correctly it auto aligns it to the changer no more guessing?

While magsafe is a cool use of magnets, it is much less efficient to charge wirelessly than wired.

Yes
I had issues with my NFC working for my wallet. My case had a bezel around the lens where part of the msgsafe should be placed, so it had to be lowered slightly. Maybe that was a factor.
i have a different manufacturer magsafe case on my s22 (standard model) and on that the nfc works from the screen side too so for example contactless payment works without issues
no issues with the halolock ring on my s22+ when using nfc

Has anyone tried installing the ESR ring on S22 Ultra with a Spigen Tough Armor case? I think it would block the kick stand of the case, but am I not sure and hence not buying the ring for now.
Wow. It is working? The glue is so strong that it won't come off. Something I always missed for my Samsung. And it has no negative effect on charging? Perhaps it would be possible to integrate the ring in a case.
I wish they made these in different colour and super slim to a point were u cant even tell its an added accesory

I personally haven't had any issues with navigation or the S Pen on my S23 Ultra with the ring installed. :)

I have a magsafe case, accessories and use a magsafe charger that are all used on my s22 ultra. I have no S pen issues. Six months no issues so...others must have glitches or ive been lucky.
If u use a magnetic popsocket .....yes u will have issues.... I literally couldn't use my Spen....It took me all night researching.....I was convinced it was defective.....until I read on a video...took the popsocket out....and my Spen worked like a charm again
It directly affects the s pen. It's a magnetic field under the screen. It literally kills the s pen if left on for long enough

I've noticed that the camera lens prootectors have become a big thing just this year with Samsung. Not that many talked about them a year ago with the s22 ultra, and there wasnt too many options on the market. Now this year way more people are talking about them and they are way more widely available.
No they have been a thing for years... But no real need for them. Use a case instead and don't mess up the camera with glass protectors over the original lens.
use the case with sliding camera cover. those 3rd party lens protectors will cause lens flare & look worse than stock.

Samsung Chargers also don't seem to work with magsafe rings, so you may need to replace those chargers

I think it is very useful, given the popularity of S23 U, as there are at time of this post, some "Magsafe" case choices for S23 Ultra. And I felt comfortable with idea of none of them. Any case I did think would be adequate in terms of averting disaster, did not possess built in Magsafe compatibility. So I have now the Humixx 360 sealed case with built-in screen protector. My OCD doesn't like the fact that pretty much every excessory overlaps on the bottom camera. I've seen other brands overcome this with better designed products.

Yep, that'll work too. I have a case on with the ring on the back of the case and I can charge on both Samsung's wireless chargers as well as my magsafe chargers 👍

@@user-iz3bf1sg7b you don't. It only attaches to cases. Phones have a special surface and there is no way to glue anything to them or attach these rings. Get a case.
So how goods the s pen work when magnetic devices are attached? I'm going to guess not so well?
I have it on my S23 Ultra now, and the S Pen can draw on all parts of the screen with no issues 👍

So essentially to sum it up it's a cash grab sticker you put on the back of your phone so you can attempt to have magsafe.... for at least as long as the sticker decides to stay on your phone but seeing you have to put it on the inside of a case I'm sure that consistent going in and out of a pocket in and out of a pocket play Stan picked up hell that everything else that sticker is not going to last very long and then I'm just going to have to purchase another sticker

I had an ESR ring on my Z Flip 4 and it was life-changing. I just traded that phone in for the S23 Ultra and the first thing I did was put an ESR ring on my new case for it. It's crazy how much easier magsafe makes things. I also have the ESR 2-in-1 cooling stand charger, and their portable battery pack. They make excellent products and I'm a huge fan. Anybody with a hard backed case should put magsafe on their phone with these. You won't regret it.

I have a Galaxy S23 Ultra, a Mouse case, and the new $20 Anker MagGo 15W Magsafe pick, no fan. Why is it only charging my phone at 5 Watts? Is it because there is no fan like the Samsung wireless pad? I've noticed when using the Electron app that the 15 watts doesn't kick in until the fan turns on. Could that be it?
And when attached to the back of my phone, The phone does not say fast wireless charging it just says wireless charging so I'm disappointed in the purchase of the puck
