This was exactly my reaction and it should've been the next statement of the committee member as soon as Roth says that twitter does not have a policy of restricting employees who express their personal views. Freaking hypocrites.
Of course Twitter didn't restrict their employees from expressing their views. Twitter wouldn't hire anyone that had unacceptable views. If an employee did slip through the cracks and posted something that Twitter didn't like, they'd claim that this employee was creating an unsafe workspace and fire the errant employee. In other words, they'd didn't censor their employees because they knew that nothing would be said that could be censored.

As someone who has gone through depositions against a lying narcissist, that is exactly what they do when cornered by a question they know will directly incriminate them. A normal person with nothing to hide tends to naturally be a bit over-chatty with details when giving their view of an event. I was permanently suspended from Twitter 11 months ago, their claim was one of my posts promoted violence. I tried to get them to show me the "tweet" in question but thry refused. I posted on many different sites and I never posted anything violent, all of my comments were specifically about politicians and what they do. These people need to be held accountable.

I’m glad some of our government officials are starting to stand up for Americans. I have an issue with the fact that this has been going on for years and they never stood up before. Just as twitter has censored Conservatives - youtube - google and others should be held liable - it can also be seen on reddit and other platforms. I would also say not only the protections, but the funding that was given to be asked back. FTX caused a fortune to be lost, government tax dollars on platforms that have censored folks that are taxpayers should be asked to payback. The pump of stocks and money put in should be requested and put back in the treasury and these officials held liable. Penalties need to be harsh.

It's a thing that has been all over every inch of the internet since the mid 2000 teens. I can recall being on some of the biggest techs and help forums in the world when this stuff started. It was like someone flipped a switch one day and anyone who could hold their own on knowledge and especially the ability to hold their own in a debate or argument about a fast-growing political agenda topic were the ones targeted the most for removal. One month the typical mouthly ignorant child-like fool types were tossed immediately for acting out and a month or two later they were the now protected class who could say anything no matter how beyond reality dumb or rule-breaking it was, and anyone that called them out or could prove them wrong was targeted for permanent removal.

If you censor 1/2 the population - the penalties and ramifications come with a cost. Arbitrary censorship goes outside the borders of the typical content to be filtered. I don't just stop your car because you are a certain color just because I feel like it - there has to be some corroborating information, which censoring an opinion and facts in the matter misdirected the entire public - and for companies to do that with the FBI - all those need to be held responsible.

The only way this mess gets resolved and these people are criminally charged is if the U.S. Attorney General and the Justice Department actually do their jobs and investigate. But that won't happen because it's run by the same brand of criminals.
