    • Who has forgotten how Father Philip treated his eldest son Charles, calling him a jerk? Philip was smart. CANCER at the age of 75, along with dementia and other old people's affairs, is the END. Charles likes to sleep with the devil. He doesn't care about the beautiful Diana and his sons. Although they are the best and dearest thing in his worthless life.

    • If Diana had had a Tibetan Buddhist master as a consultant, she would have gained the wisdom to manage her position. As it was, she only had Charles & Carmlle getting their sadist glee from torturing her as their love grew (but only because of that distraction, brought together thru the destruction of a beautiful soul). I don't know if they knew what they were doing, Charles do wounded from neglect & bully abuse. Don't know anything about Carnelle, development except that from the looks of her family at the coronation, they were an uneducated sloppy bunch, the socioeconomic equivalent of the court mistress, which is exactly what her foremothers and she herself were...bred to service, not to compete or present themselves as equals at any level/at any time in their development. I hope that SEC is finished now, what a horrible history follows these sirens (ie.Charles is no different than his Uncle, and his 2nd son).

    • Charles wasn’t forbidden to marry Camilla. If he had put his foot down,as he later would do, he could have gotten his way, but Camilla actually wanted to marry Andrew-Parker Bowles who was the most eligible bachelor of the time. Diana was sure that she would marry Prince Andrew when she grew up. Her family took to calling her Dutch because they were also sure she would marry Andrew and become a Duchess. Once Diana realized that she could actually catch Charles, the chase was on and facilitated by her family. Diana feigned interest in Charles’ interests and hobbies (Balmoral, fishing hunting, etc.)-basically, she pretended to be who Camilla is, a hunting, shooting, fishing, reading country girl. Then as soon as they were on their honeymoon (most of which was at Balmoral), Diana declared each of his interests as borrrring. When the honeymoon moved on to Balmoral she would have have fits of screaming and crying when he wouldn’t do what she wanted when she wanted him to do it (the court was at Balmoral for the summer so there was official business going on and many witnesses). After the honeymoon she proceeded to, one by one, separate him from his friends (he would give in to avoid conflict with her), then his staff (who would quit because she would not look at or speak to those she wanted to leave. In her mind, she loved him, but then attempted to change everything about him, and if he wanted any kind of peace, he would comply. Diana and her family, particularly the Spencers, were very ambitious and misrepresented who she was to the RF, particularly regarding her emotional health & stability. The Spencer’s actually had a bit of a reputation for unstable men (Diana’s mom cited abuse in the divorce), but the RF didn’t think the mental issues affect the Spencer women. Diana actually refused to cooperate with mental health professionals provided by the RF when they realized how unstable she was, and wouldn’t accept mental health help for years (yes, the RF tried to get her professional help) until a friend threatened to out her bulimia to the press because she was afraid it would kill her. And that is just how she treated Charles. As a grown woman she held hostility towards her mother for leaving her abusive father (her mother took Diana & her brother with her but lost custody), pushed her 60 year old stepmother down the stairs (long after Diana married btw), threw her stepmother’s things out the window in trash bags after her father died, fired one staff for claiming expenses with the palace for some trips with Diana (completely legitimate expenses), and fired another who was the currier delivering tapes to Andrew Morten for her for accepting reimbursement from the publishing company. The virginal “Shy Di” persona was completely a creation of a press. A bit like the common impression that the Queen Mother “sweet ol’granny.”

Her blatant relationship with Roddy Llewellyn (and others) was as embarrassing or more so than the behaviours of those who followed her. She was a chain smoker and had a member of staff following her around with an ashtray. Did she ever do much in the way of charitable work, which was after all the reason why working Royals are paid? Nobody was allowed to call her by her Christian name. She demanded to be called Ma'am by everyone except some of the more favoured were allowed to call her Ma'am Darling. It didn't work out well for her. She had every advantage and was the architect of her own demise.

    • You do know that Diana was, struggling with mental health issues, borderline personality and paranoia being some of them.. and was the main reason, that her marriage was a living hell, to both herself and mostly her husband... I am a big fan of Diana.. she had great ideas!!! She was no saint, but a human!!! Saying that she was honest and respectfu to the Queen is just not the truth. She was working with people from the media, under most of her marriage.. and she was spreading a lot of misinformation and Lies, in tabloids, books and interviews.. Sorry but Harry is doing, what his mother did to Charles and the Queen.( he is just stupid to) Try to go back over just, some of her claims , and put it into the timeline!!! The last couple of years, she was getting her life, and mental health issues, under more control...(I respect her enormously for that, that must have been a hard struggle) King Charles is the one with great Hart, and his have been so respectful to Diana's( his boys mother) memories. There is so much evidence of her behaviour, and extensive infidelity, and he has chosen not to use it... Not even to rehabilitate his or his wife's image.. and Frankly he could easily have done that!!! Maybe you could read, Lady Campbell's book "the real Diana" , Penny Junor's book " the Duchess " and Angela Lavin book" from outcast to queen consort " I know that lady Campbell also wrote a book called " Diana in private" ( the first book about Diana) but I haven't read it yet myself... I actually think that king Charles has been dreading that Harry maybe, has some of the same mental health issues as his mother... And it is the reason that he has been, trying to help him, and praying

But, as a mother in law of a very young bride like Diana she was not a good mother - in law especially she s a queen ! an older woman , why she did not understand the pain of a young woman betrayed by her husband ???. Diana was too young and her 1st man was Charles - Diana was a virgin when she married Charles . Elizabeth preferred Charles to marry Diana because Diana was still a virgin , that's Royal regulations.....! Why Elizabeth did not know that Diana was too young , no experience to be wife , Elizabeth has refused to help Diana when she approached her for help .That s heartless ! She s lucky having a good husband and she did not care about the heart breaking of the others !. As a queen , what message she wants to send to the youngs when betrayed by husband ? .She's a Catholic woman ,.she seems.not care about the Christian rules ? Divorce is unacceptable??!! Her silence ,.not interference drew a divorce of Charles and Diana !

Something her youngest son desperately needs to learn as The Duke of Sussex. His wife, who'll not be named, will NEVER have the capability to capture the hearts of the entire world. Diana had always been put in a difficult position as a young bride to her philanthropic endeavors. She was always her own person, once her marriage began to crumble, until her unfortunate passing. As a "Yank" she felt like my princess too and I looked up to her. I'll never forget where I was learning she passed. Rest in Peace incredible lady and thank you for your inspiration. 💜💖💜

    • He may swing both ways, he's married to a beautiful, intelligent woman and they've produced two children. If he is bi, at least he's very discreet about it. I've seen many comments about him being effeminate, but the only ones who actually know for sure are he and Sophie. He comes across to me as a shy, sentimental and unafraid of showing his soft side, such as an artist or poet would be.

  • Charles, not loving Diana, had absolutely no patience for her difficulties or ills to helping her. I will always think how sad that was. She was so alone with her feelings. No matter their arguments, he would not want to understand or be a fair partner with her.

    • Yes, it was self centered & unfair of Charles, and tragic for young Diana. Such a shame that Charles was so obsessed with Camilla, that he didn’t give Diana a chance. Sadly she just served her purpose for him, birthing his heirs. The future shows the results of Charles mistakes, just look at how Harry has evolved.

    • i think these kinds of comments about what charles thought or didn't think are unhelpful. Remind yourself that back in those days there was not the same knowledge there is today. Most men had no idea what to do (or women) or how to handle the issues that Diana had. in fact, all their marriage did was escalate the mental illness that she already had. Realistically - she had not done any 'self work' at that stage (before her marriage) and it is unlikely she would have found happiness with anyone at all. i believe the shame is that basically her life ended just as it was beginning, when she finally understood herself and her reactions. Happiness was there for her.. within sight and reach and her life was ended. that is the tragedy..

    • @@thevocalcroneMm, you don't have to understand what someone is going through to be helpful or empathetic. Charles was cold and uncaring, which is different than being concerned but perhaps not fully understanding. It's obvious he didn't want to understand or be supportive. It wasn't just that eating disorders were little talked about. He clearly knew that cheating on her and gaslighting her whilst having all their friends gaslight her, too, would, perhaps, be extremely hurtful even to someone who had dealt with their baggage. Excusing Charles's behavior is inexcusable.

    • @@thedepthsofrepair you really don't know any of that. You assume based on media reports or even from Dianas interview. there is always two sides to a story.. your version is fairly biased. He doesn't seem to be cold and uncaring (in fact what we do know about him is that he is very caring based on his hobbies and philanthropical activities). was he cold to diana? Quite possibly but .. how would a person manage that kind of emotional beahviour when there is no training in mental health? He potentially wasn't aware that it was 'mental illness' and thought she was simply over reactive, emotionally manipulative, demanding and all out cra-cra.. (at the time it was happening). if you have lived with someone with mental illness who can 'go off like a fire cracker' most people will simply be silent rather than risk an explosion. the silence can be perceived as 'coldness or a lack of care' when its simply self preservation. either way - none of will or can possibly know what was going on inside the marriage.
