It's a way to get people to incriminate themselves. Like if a cop asks, "Do you know why I pulled you over?"
Why is it so hard for police officers to identify themselves and explain why they are there before becoming all hostile. This officer set the tone of this interaction the minute he said, " baby momma." He knew early on that they were at the wrong address, but instead of acknowledging their mistake, he continued to escalate the situation. This is exactly how things go wrong. The female cop had no right to go trying to look into his window and try to engage conversation with children in the house. The cop already admitted they were at the wrong address.
That wasn't admission of wrong address but confirmation of what the guy was stating in a more round about way. Due to how things went, we cannot be full certain that it was the wrong address, the call was done out of mistaken belief that someone drank the acetone and they won't admit they were mistaken to the cops, or if this was in fact the right address and someone did drink the acetone and just trying to cover up that fact for fear of getting into trouble and CPS getting involved. However, if things started off correctly and the cops right off the bat just started with telling the man that they received a call... and just wish to confirm that everyone there was fine and confirm this was the correct address, it may have gotten better results; but more than likely, would have left with the same amount of info as they did, but much more quickly and peacefully.
What may have begun as good intentions before they stepped foot on the property turned into harassment the moment the sergeant stepped out. The male officer was intimidated by the sergeant and escalated to present himself as dominant. After finding out that they were at the wrong address, they continued the harassment because their 'authority' was not being recognized

That’s right, that’s an automatic assumption that they are “ghetto” and pretty much drawing a line between showing to the citizen where he belongs and what the officer is thinking of him. This is really fucked up. But even if it wasn't an assumption, still, living in a ghetto or being "ghetto" is not a crime, and being poor also is not a crime. Just that would be enough to discipline the officer. But with everything else, that’s enough to let him go.
@@marmite_popsicle the others explained it well in the comments I don’t think I can say it better than that! I just can guarantee if a white man and woman opened that door, the officer would have asked “is that your wife?”
I mean to ask someone young that question is one thing, becayse its more likely to be those two for a 20 year old more often then not. But this man was obviously passed that point, the comment definitely had a negative motive behind it
i love how he starts recording his wife when she says get in the house like shes an enemy too
Gone is gone as needed to be done.
Every cop should be required to watch an episode a week from this channel. And citizens be encouraged to watch one a month.
Nope, civilians should be watching just as many if not more than cops, so we have less incidents where civilians are arrested for unlawful shit like this.
@@VencedorGamer I think the point is that the citizen wont NEED to do the cops job as much if the cops stay educated.
Hell no
Don’t fuggin tell me what to do 🤡
Don't you know, cops are specifically chosen based on lower than average intelligence. I mean, this is published information... Apparently intelligence makes people want to commit crimes, so only dumb people get to point guns at everyone because they don't understand enough to do crimes. Or at least that's how it's interpreted in my head. Makes complete sense if your target demographic are the chronically poor and disenfranchised. Because if dumb people aren't smart enough to do crimes, why do we need police for the uneducated poor? If smart people can't be cops because they might do crimes, then why don't the cops stop THEM from doing their daily crimes?
The encounter started out with inappropriateness. The knocking tone to saying, "baby mama". Just really unprofessional.
All the deniers in the world can jump on it, but what do you think the chances are he would have said that if the guy at the door was white? He just happened to get a proud veteran instead of someone broken down by a lifetime of that kind of disrespect.
@UCl4MSRJbyqxOQvPHxHA9Ngg yo, this is so racist. Why would you say that?
@@yungpint4968 So that justifies the officer being disrespectful???
In the officer's defense(?), I would bet he was just saying that to seem casual and relating to the sergeant. Too bad his racism prevented him from appearing like he actually cares
@@southfieldtrill9690 Not at all, but I think Yung is suggesting that the officer considers the whole neighborhood to only have "baby mamas" rather than wives or girlfriends
After they got a message on the radio that they were at the WRONG ADDRESS they should have LEFT
I love the way you explain the law im learning so much
"Good evening, sir, my name's Officer Marler and this is my partner Officer Conoma. I'm sorry to bother you but we received a call from a medical center that a child at this address may have ingested some nail polish remover. We're just here to do a welfare check and make sure everybody's okay." That's not so hard, is it?
Sadly people do not have the patience to explain lol
Aren’t officers trainer to de-escalate situations? You’re right! Simply stating what their business was would’ve avoided this situation and the officer would still have their job.
"Oh I understand however I don't recall my child having a medical emergency recently. Also i think you have the wrong address my house number is" *imitates video pointing to house number* " the people you are looking for live across the street." *points across the street imitating video.*
Actually, good evening, is this address such and such, oh, no, ok, sorry to bother you. Then go validate address and try again. I mean how hard is that? There would be no reason to continue the dialogue once they determined they are at the wrong place.
@@ABCRapster You can tell the female Officer was trying to do that, but her partner muffed it up so bad by that point it was pretty much impossible to salvage. This is one of those where nothing notable should have happened in this encounter but because of somebody's bad attitude (frequently the civilian's, but the cop's in this case) somebody had their life permanently altered. Luckily nobody got injured or worse.
This guy is great - he stood up for himself & responded in kind when the COPS disrespected him.
Right! "first of all that's my wife." "why are you raising your voice?" the cop showed up with AGRESSION.

It’s just crazy how I’ve seen so many cops actively antagonize people but when someone acts out of character because of that the cop will immediately hide behind that badge
it doesnt work when talking to the millitary
Hide behind his Badge?! Lol!! This dude was a complete asshole as soon as he answered the phone
Those laws that were explained did not cover the call that a child was in danger. A welfare check can be rebuffed by an occupant at the door???
Really? Dude completely lost it and hurts his cause instead of helping it.
That's how they get away w/ the bs they do
He discriminated with the baby momma comment and was hella disrespectful with the eat a **** comment. I love when they get caught up like this. Makes me so happy

Seriously, the words from that man's mouth were fruit from a rotten tree, it demonstrated his hidden character.
In that area there are only baby mamas unfortunately for the cop this was a rare case
No doubt. Baby mama is not a respectful term. And as a white guy walking up and using that term just isn’t cute. He may as well have walked up and said “yo, what up G?”. Condescending, disrespectful,

I hate that the cops called it an "unfortunate" incident - unfortunate implies unlucky, or by chance. Like the cop accidentally stumbled upon the words "eat a d---" and accidentally said "baby mama" smh
Hey Eddie! Fancy seeing you here
They meant that about the hire.
Absolutely uncalled for! That officer did nothing but escalate the situation by demeaning him, as well as his wife, then raising his voice, and calling him a name. All while he was walking away... disgusting! Happy to hear he's no longer on the force. That's not how you teat a human being.
The worst part is that they knew that they were at the wrong house. Once they figured that out, they should have apologized, and then went to the correct house. Let's not forget that while they are arguing with him at the wrong house, someone at the house that called 911 may have needed some help.
Unfortunate the body cam wasn't deleted and that the homeowner recorded most likely 🤣

What if the cops were at the right address, and he wouldn’t let his wife speak to them? The husband was quite defensive. Just because you are, or have been, in the military, doesn’t mean you are entitled to get away with being argumentative. But, the cop was in the wrong for his own attitude!
@@drwoo6090 they should have verified the address. There was an incident many years ago when cops did a no knock. By the time it was over one officers projectile had hit and killed an infant in bis crib. Oh and that residence where the infant was killed, was an incorrect address.
