Okay. I admit I watched this full video thinking this was in 2022 and was amazed at how great Rafa was suddenly playing compared to the Goffin match. 😅
Lmao
Same!!!!!
Same
Have to admit I thought the same.
Please consult a doctor y'all !
This is interesting to watch back. Nadal was moving so much better here than he did against Goffin yesterday. DTL FH was really good too. Hard to tell how much the ab problem affected Carlos because there were some nice points before that. Even then, he was struggling with how Nadal could read his dropshot and push him back from the baseline. We’ll see how far his game has come today. It will be fun!
Rafa played 4/5 match before of this one. Rafa played against Goffin after the first match since 2 months
Alcaraz is better now than last year. He certainly has a chance if Nadal continues playing like he did yesterday.
That was a different style of playee
african tennis players why not plays atp big level tournaments?
@@teopilemalakia1444 Because tennis requires excessive amounts of physical training, physio, skill, balls hit, hours on the court, gameplay training, etc and all of that costs a fuck ton of money and well, you can deduce the next part.
“He’s got a great future...but this man remains the present” pretty epic quote
Best commentator ever is nick lester
@@adambennaim5500 agree👍🏻
future is here
This Alcaraz vs now Alcaraz is like night and day. Now Alcaraz is hitting much cleaner, much deeper and with more confidence.
Actually no, still essentially the same, what he has done is tweak shot selection, point his server improved
As a rafa fan over the years, I try to take his wins and losses same like him..In early years i wanted rafa to win every titles but now if he lose its ok there's another tournament we can see him there ..I take him as a role model in my real life ..
He doesnt have to prove himself anymore, but still has the drive...Stuff of Legends.
@@ryanmacmaster9074 yeah agree with u

Anyone else watch this thinking it was today’s match? What a relief it isn’t, vamos Carlos! 🇪🇸💪
Hahaha, yes i did!
Yep! Haha, I was like, wow, Nadal really beat the kid badly. Then I looked at tennis ticker and saw they're to play today at 4 pm. Excited for their match, I see a possible upset.
Jesus i got baited lol
U people have no clue about tennis lol. Just follow scores i guess
5:26 what a return, wow
@Rafa Undisputed goat this video is from last year mate
@@lamps453 this guy floods youtube comments with this exact same phrase
Going to be an interesting rematch. Alcaraz has improved a lot since last they met here. Going to be a great match regardless of who comes out the victor.
@Rafa Undisputed goat I think in a 5 set match it will be difficult to beat Nadal. But Alcaraz definitely has a chance beating him in Madrid.
@Rafa Undisputed goat You were saying?
AND WE DID SEE MORE: USO CHAMPION 2022!!! YES, FOR CARLOS ALCARAZ!!!
Alcaraz looks like the younger version of Rafa (minus the long hair lol). Wishing the best for both for quarters. Brain says Alcaraz, heart says Rafa.
He looks nothing like a younger version of Nadal. Plays nothing like him either. If he wasn't Spanish, the comparison's wouldn't be as abundant.
NO
@@marctaddei7524 exactly spot on. I see it same.
He plays nothing like a young Nadal, or any Nadal tbh.
Alcaraz can only look like NOVAK DJOKOVIC
PLEASE Comeback soon RAFA 😢😢
Máxima expectación para hoy!
Great training in real match for the younger heir, a real gift for Birthday boy in form of testing the capacity and endurance for long journey he has to face in future!!!!
It looked like Nadal was wiping the floor before the injury, his level is so dam high its off the charts!
Best Player in the world
Nadal just destroys everyone , he is not human 😲😲😲
Well, it's one year later Madrid 2022. Alcaraz has just beaten Nadal for the very first time. I wanted to compare the progress of Alcaraz from 12 months ago to now. I think it is a far different Carlos Alcaraz, today, than from one year ago. He is definitely hitting the ball harder, more confidently and with precision.
Love Nadal - great sportsmanship and mentor and at the same time as an opponent - to offer time out in the middle of a game to Carlos.
What an outstanding evolution in one year
Someone needs to organize an Alcaraz-Ferrero vs Nadal-Moya doubles match. It should be fun to watch…
uff
I'd watch that
So amazing to see how rafa kills ever player he wants, he's in another Level, simply amazing skills to strong and fast.
Vamos por más Rafa Nadal 🇪🇸💯🇪🇸
I'm watching Alcaraz vs Coric in Madrid Open right now and the level difference between this video's Carlos and now's is insane
the thunderbolts of a titan of the sport. if the young heroes want to overcome the old masters they'll have to come up with legendary stuff, and i still haven't seen anyone of the new generation that can hit with the big 3. on a good day nadal and djokovic are still the best in the world and it's not particularly close. i just hope federer has enough knees left to find some of his old form one last time.
Imteresting fact: Nadal didnt know what to do against Dustin Brown's thunderbolt returns and was just stunned
@@marcing2505 Interesting fact : Dustin brown is finished
@Richie'sBackhand I am a huge fan of Thiem on Clay, but he still finding his form after injury unfortunately, hopefully he gets back to his best fast.
Trophies will be won, records will be broken - but Rafa will always be remembered for his skills, spirit, sportsmanship and passion - he has immortalized his status as a giant of the game. I see glimpse of Rafa in Alcaraz, such a bright future ahead of him - the score today doesn't justify his talent (never easy playing your idol).
And relentlessness
Who just came back here after Alcarez beat Nadal in Madrid 2022?
If Nadal struggled against Goffin yesterday, who hasn't won 3 matches in a row for over a year (little exaggeration) he will struggle against Alcaraz today. Alcaraz is the favourite here. He's 100% fit and a totally different player than 1 year ago, when he wasn't even in the top 100. I don't get why people compare him to Nadal, their playing style was/is totally different: Alcaraz is way more agressive than Nadal will ever be. Also, Alcaraz has a lot to prove before getting even close to his master. Nadal will give it all, but a loss won't hurt him. His main focus must be Roland Garros, where the slower court suits him better and his experience ia priceless. That is where be will be at his best this season. Even with a broken rib, a rare foot disease, taped fingers, a bad knee... He will be the favourite.
Goffin won a title like 4 weeks ago 💀
Yeah goffin played absolutely incredible it seemed like Alcaraz gave Nadal too many short balls which yeah doesn't end well.
@@andressuarez2942 Si Ganó el Gran Premio en Marrakech.Marruecos
tranquilo Carlos, tienes una vida por delante.Ahora todavía es el momento de Rafa 👍👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍
Carlos ya le ganó a Rafa, y fue tremendo Partidazo!
Is the audio behind the video in the second set?
Most people seemed to miss it, this is from 2021 y'all.
I.looked this up just to.compate 18 yr old Carlos with him today. Amazing development in a year.
With Nadal intensity I think he can win 3 more grand slam titles to make it 25 GS Titles.
Sensible comment. Completely agree. Federer fan here. The guy just won't let go. Will always be there

This match was great, but I'm surprised that it's been another year since this match ...
Yeah it's scary it's been a year already
Old masters don't die easy...
You're right Anna it's really not easy to die
Carlos didn’t seem his normal self today, he was definitely battling through the pain.
This is not from today
@@sergifarell5824 oh was it not … ops lol 😆
This time will be a closer match
Nadal checked on him at the first changeover. So much respect
This is the reason why nadal is the goat for me.. he is undoubtedly the player that makes all other players have to bring their best.. every other player's most difficult match is when they face rafa.. he is relentless and fight to the very end
how things have changed in 1 year… vamos carlitos!
what channels i can watch the match today ?
In their last year match Carlos was out from TOP100, this year match is in TOP10
Надаль,Вы лучший!
Playing with his idol rafa!
Nadal è mostruoso!!!
the Nadal that faced Alcaraz this year (2022) was very different from the Nadal that hammered Alcaraz last year. it could be that Alcaraz suffered an injury last year, but just focusing on the way Nadal played, there is no doubt he shortened points by unleashing all his weapons, particularly the left-handed down the line shot or inside out forehand which seemed strangely absent this year...
I watched this full video thinking it as 2022 match.
and now HE JUST WONN!!!!
his grunts changed
👑 Король!
Master class again for the 19 yr old. Rest now ...
Jajajaja no
Right, and the 19 yr was ready 2nd time I see
The ball bounced twice before that 'beautiful little behind the back shot' point!
This day will be remembered as the day the torch was passed. The day, a new generation champion ready to take tennis to the next level, a new star was born. Tomorrow the passage of the torch will be completed, when Carlos will demolish Novak. After decades of watching and analizing tenis, its clear when a true new star arises. I got the same feeling I got when Borg, McEnroe, Connors, Sampras, Lendl, Becker, Edberg, jumped into the scene. BRILLIANT SIMPLY BRILLIANT. #Carlos #Alcaraz the new star taking tenis to the next plateau. The king is dead, long live the king #CA Carlos Alcaraz fantastic game.

Alcaraz will crush Rafa today. This is going to be the end of an era, and the beginning of a new one.

Tem muito que aprender ainda com Nadal pra querer imitá-lo até na vestimenta, principalmente, a ter humildade.
Aprendeu, uma parte, ganhando esse ano de 2022. Falta a humildade e a simpatia do Nadal
Wow.. Shocking to see how easily Rafa destroyed Alcaraz… I thought for sure it was Alcaraz’s time.. I guess experience over youth. But wow.. Hats off to Rafa
This was last year's match. I didn't realize until I checked the comments after but Alcaraz has a chance this year.
I dont get it after yesterday against Norrie.🧐
Carlos has 99 speed, stamina, skill and control
The biggest opponent of Nadal and the other two of the big three it is only the Time. After 2 generations of talented young players trying unsuccessfully to dethrone them, we can clearly see this.
Oh i thought it was this years and i was thinking wow how will he turn this around lol. Will change video
Damn, I’ve just realized this is from last year…
I was wondering why Alcaraz looked so small and young - no wonder, this is from a year ago lol xD.

Why don't you post extended highlights like this now? When the matches are new? Why it always has to be a year afterwards!?
Instead of being called Tennis TV, the channel will be called Carlos Alcaraz TV🤣
took me a while to realize its 2021 match, not this year's lol

How can you not see this is not natural speed. It's like x1.2 and you cannot unsee it once you notice. Infuriating
This year Alcarez is a different animal

i have to be honest, i watched this too thinking it was 2022 cuz yk he did play nadal and beat him, but ig i didnt read the title fully because i was like, how is he going to come back from a 5-1 in the 2nd set lol

Old match, I was impressed that Nadal out of shape can win over Carlos but I hear he lost. Kind of sad, it would be cool if he could still be out of shape and win like this.
