Every time I take videos on my 8 pro people are blown away. Specifically the 5x zoom. Photos and videos on that look insanely good.
This was really cool. Of course it's easy for us to critique from within the comments section, but it would be awesome to be able to work on the Pixel team in this Camera Test Lab.
Eagerly waiting for pixel 9
Waiting for when the Pixel devices can do the night sight video on the device instead of uploading it to the cloud for processing.
Love it because my Pixel Fold takes some of best pictures at night I've ever seen
I'm happy to hear that there has been progress in improving video quality. It would be great if social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok could also enhance their video upload features to match the quality of iPhones. Perhaps, Google could form partnerships with these platforms or upgrade their camera API for developers to establish a new standard.
Do they do the same for throttling and battery issues which these devices face? I wonder ☹️
still using my pixel 3xl every day
Same here. Still using pixel 3xl as daily driver and still going strong. Really speedy phone and great photos still in 2024
@@mjrpiano absolutely the pics out of this camera beats my dad's 6a sometimes. Especially the front cameras
Is there any way or specification that we could follow currently with other cameras or phones in order to be able to take advantage of cloud video boost in the future? I remember there was a Canon EOS alternative firmware (I think it was Magic Lantern if I'm not mistaken) that would capture video with 2 alternating exposures for each final frame of video done later on post processing.. but that would require a specific video App on a phone using some non standard camera API... hopefully Google could make it standard on future Android versions and Black Magic camera App could take advantage of it ;)
My requests for Google team, 1. Stop over processing human faces 2. Images appear way too contrasty once 50MP sensors started shipping. Fix it. 3. True 3X telephoto just for portraits. 5X or 10X for zoom
Taking a portrait with Pixel makes everyone look 10 years older. I don't understand why they oversharpen the heck out of every line and pore on your face. Skin tones are generally pretty spot on, but the texture is terrible
They need to make microphones/earphones that work outdoors in windy conditions.
And where is the zoom enhancement we were promised???
Does that product has been exist in all pixel 8 / pro user? I hope in normal local processing Google Camera video can better image quality than Filmic Pro.
Please can you compare the latest Google Pixel to Samsung S24 Ultra!
Very good video 👍😍
Take a look at the video clip at three minutes, 43 seconds onward. The pixel 7 pro blows away the pixel 8 pro. The pixel 8 is totally blown out and you lose all detail in the shadows. WTF,?
Totally agree! Too much light on the Pixel 8 Pro.
That's what happens when people want "better dynamic range" like they know what they're talking about lol.
NightSight should be called DaySight with how unnaturally bright it makes videos and photos. It's not just Pixels, it's all other smartphones too. I want low light to look like low light. If they can improve the quality while preserving the atmosphere, then great, but I don't want unnaturally bright low light images and videos.
Lose the detail in the shadows? lol it has more it RAISES the shadows. People use words they don’t understand.
*edit correction: all of u getting it wrong: the 8 uses AI video boost option to enhance the colors and darker scenes. the 7 doesn't have the option at all. so obv AI isn't perfect and overblows light areas but that's nothing new, u don't have to enable it on the 8 if u don't want it. but it does indeed work in very dark scenes or complete daylight but has barely any effect. while a darker scene with many light sources directly will ruin everything. so that's why y'all think the 7 is better cuz it's native while the footage from the 8 is edited
The low light video seems soft and out of focus, there was color bleeding and some video noise. Some of the daylight video wasn’t that much better.
I blame Isaac Reynolds for introducing the massive regression with camera app UI change, where every setting that used to be a click away (color balance, highlights balance, shadows balance) are hidden in either left or right hidden menu - good luck remembering which is which! With new 50MP sensors the processing pipeline is too aggressive, photos are over-sharpened, over-contrasty. Night sight is Day sight, touch grass. Kudos for manual controls and 50 MP sensor across the board though.
Wheres the lab for the modem
I don't think pixel and secret are words that go well together
Ha ha, good one
Thank you, my camera on the Pixel 6a is shaking!
All of this and my pixel 8 still captures the worst portrait edge detection.
Good good ❤
Interesting, it's always nice seeing went certain decisions are made. Was really annoyed at first with their choices for video boost, wish they'd explained why back then
Google should work in there processor more, as there tensor chips sucks compare to snapgradan and A chips from apple
How do I apply to be the bartender in the Pixel lab?
Google's test subjects all have a frown on them, That's their way of telling you they're not getting paid enough.
Hopefully with pixel 9 they get dual exposure video. In the meantime, anything that's not on device its a no-no
Then y us Google still behind iphone in videos I don't understand
Video Boost = Google needs your video without paying you the “user” for their future AI algorithm data-lakes/sets for video production. Google needs to pay us for using our data for these products, they just paid Reddit Millions for their data. Don’t be surprise if you see parts of your kids or family photos/video, faces, hair styles, tattoos, earrings and weddings rings and so in a AI Video generator created by Google for ad revenue, that once again you the user should be entitled too. Ask Google if any of the Video Boost data will be used indirectly or directly for AI generated content, seek their answer.
Google cloud services ad bruh
pixes 7 looked much better in this videos
That's a scary stare from the bar guy! And I think you got the labels wrong because pixel 7 looked better
Interesting. I never got the impression that Google tested any of their products, or even used them at all. I'd be even more shocked if they actually used their own Home app to control the lights in the studio.
Why there is a video of a secret lab? The secret lab shouldn't be like ... secret?
Pixel 7 Pro seems to have better colors.
thos mfs look a bit too robotic XD
The Pixel 7 (pro) is probably the worst Pixel to ever have bought. There have been no improvements on the camera quality, and advancements for the 8 are not being applied to the 7. My Pixel 4a had better processing than the 7. To see the 7 being used as a "before" in this video is pretty gutwrenching. That's what the Pixel 7 is to Google.
♥️🖤🖤🖤🖤 ♥️♥️🤍🤍🤍 ♥️💚💚💚💚
How does that pertain to google pixel?
Please more ads on youtube, we love you google, you're the best.
Ads on KZhead are annoying as heck
How is it a secret if we're watching it
Even the best scenery, google still somehow made the pixel 8 camera worse
Google Tensor suck, exynos way better, plss change to Snapdragon
Google is crap company. see how they waste money on useless things. Let camera company do this.
iPhone is still better though
Lol stay mad
Lol look like you never watch any comparison and reviews
