Wild boars were destroying a widow lady's property and tearing up the grass. Trapped 10 wild hogs on the widow lady's property were euthanized. The wild hogs were caught in the Game Changer Trap Jr pig trap. The best and most affordable hog trap is Game Changer Traps ST 2X4 pig trap. It has 2 drop gate control by the Vision Cam app from a cell phone. The Pocket Drag are a plus when dealing with wild hogs and dragging them.

  • Also, I would scatter the lure over on the far edge of the fence rather than the middle of the trap. My reasoning is this will give you the best odds to luring the pigs in to the farthest point of the gate. If they are in the middle, I think there is a better chance for some to escapes since they are closer to the gate entrance. If its all the way in the opposite side of the trap, I think this will buy you some potential split seconds as the gates are falling.

    @FreedomCompatriots@FreedomCompatriots9 ай бұрын
    • I actual do that on most of them. Because we had already dropped on them once and messed them being comfortable, it took a long time for them to even get that far into the trap on the second chance. Thanks for watching

  • Pig Brig® traps are simpler, safer, more reliable, and less expensive. They don't need remote monitoring or triggering. A Pig Brig® is a passive trap that lets pigs enter any place all of the way around it, and then won't let them leave. You can trap a sixty pig sounder without any of them knowing they're trapped until you show up the next morning. And when you fold it up, it will fit on the back of an ATV.

  • I have the same trap with old cam and have had this happen before. Not fun trying to convince them to come back in after they’ve been scared off like that. Older pigs usually don’t come back in but the younger ones will. 9/10 the reason one of my doors didn’t drop is from the latch. I started putting a wrap around the top of the latch to make an umbrella to keep the rain from getting down in it. I almost never leave the trap on the trailer out in the weather either without putting a tarp or something over it to shield the rain from getting down in the latch that way as well. And as you noted in the video always do a test drop before. Less heartache to find out an issue then than when pigs are in it. Good video and glad you caught em!

      @hollyridgehomestead@hollyridgehomestead9 ай бұрын
    • Interesting. How do they escape the pig brig? If corrosion is the problem, there must be anti-corrosion products to help solve that. If testing gates etc a step ladder type prop the correct height will enable testing the gate trigger without a full executioner type drop, which might be convenient. A block & tackle pulley arrangement would also be possible for ease of raising the gate if an issue. @@hollyridgehomestead

    • It will kill them with head shots almost always. I used to always bring a .38 Special and a shotgun we did this on my parents farm. Sometimes a big hog will bounce .22LR. I have seen it a few times. One big boar took a 12 gauge slug to put down. He bounced a full mag of .22LR.

    @tomeverett2212@tomeverett22129 ай бұрын
    • No problem where your from. You still should ask when you don’t know. So the wild feral pigs around here do not get fat enough to provide if any bacon when processed. Now the temperatures down here are in the 100’s and the meat will spoil extremely fast. During the cooler times of the year you have time to process the animals for food. Which we give a lot away to families for that purpose. So to get rid the animals you basically are left with 2 options. Leave them in the woods or bury them. Thank you for watching and hope I answered your questions.

Suggestion: Have one of your children do a google or AI search for the commonality of hog trappers who blew out the L4-L5 disk. Yawt Yawt is wearing a belt to prevent this, just as they do in the olympics.

    • You are the brain. Hire someone to be the brawn, such as an unemployed furniture mover. While he is lifting iron, you can think up grand new ideas. My idea is to use an un-fenced trap which has low walls of about 3 feet. The floor of the trap is made of Teflon, the slipperyest material known. Once inside the trap, the pigs will have trouble standing up and will not be able to gain traction to run or jump. If you then release carbon dioxide gas into the trap, it will sink to the floor of the trap. If a pig falls, CO2 gas will first knowck them out and then they will peacefully suffocate in 3 minutes. No mess or fuss. This is actually happening right now in Africa, where they have depressions which are over volcanic activity and CO2 is rising from the ground. Since pigs hold their noses at ground level, it wont take a lot of CO2 to knock them out. @@hollyridgehomestead

She reminds me of my daughters. When they were about that age I was a captain for Northwest airlines, so we flew all over The world for free. Show my kids got to know Europe very well and the Orion is well South America. They’re all grown and gone now, but stay close to gayle and give her attention ! Because and love because up in college it’s not that nice.
