The G has a higher torque peak, so when it starts spinning it gets worse. In this case the Defender got over in less tries, but I don't claim that's a definitive test. More torque would allow the use of a higher gear (low 2nd/3rd) which would help suppress wheelspin on the ascent. @watannen G are good but not a good value you could have a spare defender plus lots of mods like winches, lifts and tires for the price of a stock G
G wagen has 3 diff locks as standard. Were they even being used?
Right at the end the defender stalled?
mercedes and landrover collaboration.. and its game over
NL land army: Mercedes, our Royal Navy: Land Rover 110 XD's: experience in the sandy dunes: marines in LR 110's: no problem running around (standard), Mercedes (loaded also) stuck mostly; after at least 2 wheel/ tire combinations + diff locks could do the same. Weight distribution is key: LR front axle remains about same load while vehicle is fully loaded; Mercedes LWBase: rear axle pos effectively increases front ax load: earlier stuck.
@Gris110 Based on this video, where do yo see the defender is better? Disregarding the fact that the defender is heavily modded too, maybe it's just the driver? No doubt that both cars are great offroaders, but price is no argument when you're out there
The Gwagen is a very heavy vessel...
I love everything about the G Wagon except the price.
And DEFENDER! wins again!
Both trucks make it to the top of the obstacle, but the Land Rover does it with less fuss, and on the second attempt. Also the Land Rover looks like it has raised suspension, which will not help on a hill like this, as it raises the centre of gravity.
Lotusdriver but it still beat the g wagen and didnt need a run up
My 1994 Nissan pathfinder would be able to do it. Although G-wagons are my favorite.
it's also depend on the driver.
Both vehicles clearly have rear lockers correct? .... and was that stock on those......believe so....
Dangerous actually
Big like
it's no about the car... it's all about the driver !
Silvi Vlachkov yeah right fuck g wagon fuck boy.
Silvi Vlachkov in this case the g wagons driver was shit scared
😂😂 G wagon needed some serious run on Land Rover is still the king of the mountain, less run on, less ground erosion 💖💖
As ever, the difference is primarily in the driver and modifications made to the vehicles.
Умный в гору не пойдет, умный гору обойдет...)
Land rover does it at a vast reduction of the cost of a Mercedes....Day in or Day out
What grade was the climb?
The ancient art of deflation works wonders.
Bravissimi ragazzi miei
Crazy guys...this is real offroad.
Defender for life - the G63 6x6 is cool, but I could never own one, and it isn't as tough as a defender
@sirspuij where's the fun with that! :)
it doesnt actually make any difference. It actually has two diff locks and a transfer box locking device.
Where are you now Plz tell me
The 110 drove down the G slid down
That is one crazy hill
benz looks safer...may it has the edge on its diff locks system
Landrover has stock centre diff lock .... Merc has three diff locks centre, front, rear
@@user-ts3vk9ic5r 😁👍
Driving capability really matters in hill climbs and torture tests. Unfortunately the G had a rusty one!
where is this place?can any body tell me please ?
SOY, OBEDIENTE A LAS REGLAS Y DEBERES EN COMPORTAMIENTO.RECORDANDO EL RESPETO AL DERECHO AJENO. JURO RESPETAR SIEMPRE.
The land Rover defender is a better vehicle...it's also used by the British military and armed forces in Caribbean islands !
bancroft groves of course its used in england its their car! g class is used in militaries all over the world while the defender isnt
Of course it is. This is what a Audi does to a Defender: kzhead.info/sun/n7iMlJShgIuCn30/bejne.html In a G Wagon you wouldn't even notice you're pulling a Defender...even in the Caribbean Islands ;)
@296jayce it is because people always compare things to the best. and the defender is the best there is in its class
The lift on that G is perfect.
and no I'm not British but Land Rover is the god of 4x4's ;) that's a fact..
Don't question the defender's victory. It is better
Fergus 110 no, it was just the better driver. what does a defender have that a G doesnt have? then again a G has 3 diff locks and more power, a Defender doesnt
How about heritage, not to mention an original design 'cough
Fergus 110 heritage? Thats a plus point for the G, it is hand made and still produced in austria, graz. And the design? A defender looks cool, but so does the g
that defender wasnt even stock, the g was. also it had better tire pressure
There is a reason why the Nazis lost the war. Such a shame a lot of British manufactures uses Nazi - well German - Tech today.
