In this video I attempt to explain why the Tow truck (Part of the business as part of the Chop shop DLC content update in GTA Online) Sucks as a result of players not being allowed to use the truck whenever they please, its a result of glitches and stability issues as a result of the games programming.

Solution: The tow truck can't be towed by another tow truck or lifted by Cargobob and unhitches from any vehicle occupied by a player or already connected to another vehicle. The people making the choices for the game don't actually play it or this is about microtransactions, even the casual player can see that by now. This could have made a nice option for the import-export business. I bet the real reason it's limited to mission-specific vehicles is to prevent car duplication. The Cargobob has a similar ability but the hook was shortened to the point of making it almost worthless so that it could not be used to lower vehicles in front of player-owned garage entrances.
Now write that solution to R* suggestion and wait until they contact you to hire you for all of the Online coding problems.
@@siimtokke3461 I'm already employed as a manufacturing engineer who is sometimes required to do PLC, robot, and machine vision programming where bugs can cost someone their life so, it would be a huge downgrade for me to go work for a game publisher.

@@BigMobeThen you should know how complicated programming can be. Especially when working on a 10 year old project, of which most people who worked on it have left. Also working on real life applications is a tiny bit different than working on a game, not saying its harder or anything just different. Furthermore, you can't know what the development of the game was like, they are a LOT of ways that could have been made and it is likley they didnt consider when making the tow truck that in ten years they would have to be figuring this out. If you really have ties to programming you would know this, so I very much doubt you.
I remember a lobby connecting 32 tow trucks in a daisy chain, spinning it up and causing a TOWnado, that crashed the game.
Shows how terrible game is made by lazy company.

@@smileyface293 it will still crash. It doesn’t matter if it’s on current gen or not. The game is still built on old ps3/360 engine and hardware. All they did to port it to current gen is upscaling the game to make the graphics look better it’s still running on the same old gen hardware. Thats why they never expanded the actual gta v map because of old gen engine limitations. So while your current console is more powerful the game is still running on old gen engine and hardware ie it will still crash if you tried. For example the pc can have unlimited fps however the game will always be capped to 60 fps. Do anything to change that via in the game files or disabling vsync etc will cause issues running the game like graphical issues. So while your pc is powerful the game will still crash because it wasn’t built for that

Simple fix make it so tow trucks can't attach to other tow truck's so we can use it for other vehicles and towed vehicles can't be entered and if in it kicks you out
I had the tow truck in an online session a few years back, and oh boy, that was crazy. The weirdest physics-related bugs I've ever seen! From random explosions to a launch glitch that threw me so far out that I magically respawned and almost instantly exploded once I did. XD
I think they don't let us get the tow truck as a personal vehicle, because of the job warp glitch. That's because it would work the same way as the phantom wedge where you can teleport the trailer that's attached to the truck with you, but this would be way more broken since there are more objective vehicles in the game than objective trailers.
I abused the job warp a lot in the recent years, but now it feel like R* have even patched it, I can’t even job warp anymore
@AdisPlays it's only patched on pc apparently and much harder on console
@@AdisPlays job warp was patched on pc.. there are still methods of doing it but you vehickle doesnt travel with you anymore.
Why not allow the use of the Slamtruck as a tow truck for the missions as well... useless piece of junk.
I wish they'd given us the Slamvan-based tow truck as an option because this big one gets beached on rocks so easily. It's happened to me like 8 times now and it's annoying af. I'm sure everyone who bought the chop shop in Paleto Bay has run into this issue.
Your first mistake was buying a Paleto Bay chop shop. The game’s been out for 10 years. No reason to not have millions of dollars other than poor financial decisions. (Sorry if I come across as blunt or hurtful, these are just facts. Have a good day man. And yeh, the tow truck does have some weird physics, don’t get me wrong) 🙏
@@exoticbutters8878 Bro, I only just started playing the game again after a 5 year hiatus and only had like 100k in my bank when I first started playing again. I've been grinding my ass off to be able to afford all the new stuff. Give me a break. Don't just assume everyone's been playing nonstop for the past 10 years.

Couldn’t they get around any single-player gameplay issues by just giving the online tow trucks different file names from the story mode one? Or does it not work that way?

I'm a little confused about why they couldn't tweak how the tow truck worked in free mode and how it would affect Story Mode. Couldn't they do exactly what they did with the Lazer?
Why they even care about how the towtruck works in story mode? They abandoned it after 2015 & is only used for some beginner side missions for Tonya anyway; I don't think skipping her entirely would be such a deal breaker if it does have softlocking issues.
I only really played singleplayer after I did all this missions and just wanted to chill and have some fun, these idiots just ruin their own game for no reason.
The Tow Truck is basically more trash than the trash it was designed to carry. Worst thing is we don't even get to chose between the two models of the Tow Trucks, but two variants of the same model.
The tow truck should have had liveries so we could pick a logo like most other businesses. A holiday livery would be super cool too.
Yes add decals for the red autos or even have me pay 1.8mil for the slamvan tow truck I’ll pay that.
They should atleast allow us to fully modify the color

R* should've gave the player base a usable car hauler when they released the ramp truck. Use that in chop shop dlc and also be used in online free roam like acid lab or similar
So would a good solution be to make vehicles untowable as long as there is a passenger in it, and as long as a vehicle is being towed, the doors of it need to be locked to everyone.
Would have been funny to just steal peoples vehicles in freemode when they are afk and when they come back, they find out there vehicle has been towed all the way to Mount Chiliad xD

I would love it if gta added a trucking business. They should incorporate that in the game to be able to sell multiple cars from the vehicle warehouse with a car trailer and possibly sell all drugs at once with a dry van trailer
I dont get this. Thebtow worked fine online in gtav on the ps3 and beginning of ps4 erra, but you're telling me they got rid of it to bring it back worse? I remember playing with my friends and towing their cars into the ocean for laughs.
In terms of the tow truck mini missions is it worth getting it anyways for the amount im spending on it ?

I still don't get why they don't just create a "new" vehicle that is the exact same as the old tow truck and modify that vehicle's code to keep story mode bug-free. And why not just have any occupied vehicles automatically unhitch since it seems as if that code is already in place?
As a modder, I can confirm that there are currently four tow trucks in the game. They've added 2 new tow trucks for the chop shop DLC. I have extensively tested various scenarios with the tow truck, and I am quite certain that it could pose problems if Rockstar allows players to tow everything. For instance, players could potentially exploit the tow truck on CEO vehicle cargos by towing the target vehicle and bringing it to their vehicle warehouse, allowing them to store it without triggering any mission scenarios.This is just one of the situations, I could list them all, but it would be too lengthy
I remember the beginning days of gta online when towing a car from another area crashed the game for anyone within 2 blocks from you
good examples or R* messiong with soemthing that affects singleplayer aswell culd be those small thing liek broken RPM's or broken waapon recoil mechanism.
This is a really piss poor answer and there's a very obvious solution to it just don't let me tow a car someone's in. There is absolutely no way that will affect single player and I can still drive my tow truck around like a normal car
If you have a modder spawn one in can’t you go to your garage or any of your properties to save it or do a give cars to friends glitch?

Cept..making the Ramp Truck the hauler would of been better and give us the car hauler to use, as well. practically no tow service shows up with a hook truck..it's always a rollback type flat bed truck. tow trucks with hooks largely went out with the last millennium.
I found something fun to do with the new Chop Shop Tow Truck. After starting a tow truck mission, I drove the tow truck to a garage at a popular location. Then I called Imani and activated the Off Radar zone. At that point I could blast all the NPCs that I wanted and the cops totally ignored me. Because I was off the radar, I went over to where another player was located and started raising hell blasting NPCs, and causing all kinds of burning wreckage all around them. The other player gets KOed at some point. When they do the Imani Tech ghost zone vanishes. Even so, you still have immunity from the cops as long as the tow truck survives. Make sure to put the tow truck in a safe location. I hope you try this and make a video about it. I also hope you find new ways of using this feature. I used it on a livestream yesterday. I had a blast, literally.😈
It turns out to be very limited….. can’t call it out as personal vehicle, can only hook it up to a car on the set job.
Why do we have to pay for the colors in your OWN Chop Shop, and would have been fun to steal random cars for the parts.
Easy solution: Add a new model to the game, give it a brand new handling and logic file, done. Unversal tow truck that won't break Story mode. And it ain't like GTA V hasn't duplicate models already :)
I bought the tow truck and ig it felt like leaving and now its saying i never owned one it's amazing
I can't believe that a videogame company prioritizes phisics rather than fun. One more reason why Rockstar are a bunch of assholes.
It's not bad for doing stunt jumps with it can be ammusing if your towing a vehicle at the same time.
I had to buy another tow truck after towing 5 cars back to the yard. Over 1 mil down the drain. I feel so incomplete replacing it with the rusty version... 😞

I just got back on GTA online after seeing they added a tow truck dlc Took me over a week of grinding to be able to afford it, but after seeing this video im thinking about skipping out on it and buying some other vehicles Sucks cuz im a tow truck driver irl 😞
My thoughts before and after the dlc Meh! Never really cared for it, but if I had the space on pc and there was enough storable vehicles to make a themed garage I may have owned it if it was a personal vehicle.
i wasted 4.5 million on this stupid new dlc for it to suck this much rockstar need to overhaul this dlc hard
i use it regulary to get cars i dont argue about it i just use it for the purpose it was supposed to be and thats it the missions are good and kinda relaxing (i bought the shop in Sandy shores to make sure that i dont have the idiots in the city around me so often and good roads to drive on)
They will most likely be able to have it in the next game It's too close for them to fix a problem like that right now

Well, I guess that shows that Rockstar themselves at least care a little bit about single player, and part of me imagines that someone is likely looking into seeing what they can do if anything about letting us use the truck as a freeeroam vehicle.
The story mode excuse is getting old. They’ve implemented plenty of changes to multiplayer that doesn’t affect gameplay in singleplayer. One major example being the ability to use melee on bikes, not in story mode. This is pure laziness on their part and in a way, a way to stop players from enjoying things they’d rather do then the missions.
I’m gonna guess it is something to do with they didn’t want you to turn vehicles into a spinning wheel like we used to see in those old Vanoss videos.

I'm glad videos like this exist. Otherwise, I'd spend a million dollars just to replay some of the most boring missions in the story mode. Seriously though, are people actually excited about towing missions?

Tbh all these DLCs and updates are just temporary permanent patches one on top another. Rockstar can just replicate a new tow truck model with the fix for online only. We already have vehicle warehouse and auto shop. They should go hand in hand with the chop shop but instead Rockstar treats the older DLCs like they are not exist. How about you get 50% more money if you sell the vehicle in your auto shop?

People already troll in the game by modding or cheating or just spawn killing you over and over in a pay to win vehicle... I am sure that just having your car be towed away would just be the least of your issues... I would have picked up GTA 5 at launch, because of the range of vehicles and the sandbox aspect. Now it's less about being a sandbox and more about buying loads of shark cards so you can just trash on those who don't have money and are trying to grind by killing them over and over again and make their life miserable... I wish there was a sandbox game like a cross between GTA and Just Cause with lots of vehicles and fun stuff you can do in the game, but most games that promise that tend to be scams games with stolen assets by people who know that is what people are looking for...
You can simply set your vehicle access to "no one." As a modder, I can guarantee that tow trucks are unable to tow personal vehicles when the owner sets their vehicle access to "no one." The same applies to the Cargobob.
Story mode and gta online are seperate games nowadays, fixing something in story or online wouldnt effect the other
Apart from all that, it works as intended as it's actually a better way to make money than the 3-times-a-week robberies, ironically.

i cant even get in it... i used it once and when i got back to the shop i wasnt able to get back into it and still cant. its slightly side ways in its spot and even when i sell and rebuy it, losing myself $650000, and not being able to use the business other than the heists. actually what is rockstar doing

why remove the tow truck glitch? gta iv still has the glitched swings, this would be gta v version of that almost lol
Why couldn’t they do like the Journey II and Brickade 6x6 and just copy/paste the coding, change the name to Tow Truck II (and whatever else to separate it from the original) and now we have a tow truck that can be used in free roam. Or just make a new one more modern looking, though seeing the quality of the dlc cars this update, either something visually would look bad or they break the truck physics completely.

Rockstar has a deep anti-fun thing going through all their games. Like how you cant climb onto the roof of wagons in rdr2 since it would be a disaster if a player could like use it to get on a roof.. Or just retarded shit like how you have barely any controll of camera angle in clothes shop and the like. In autoshop you cant see the car you are fixing cause the roof light blocks the view. In the car store where you can buy the removed cars. The view angle is so weird that its impossible to see the box of info text and the name of the car isnt possible to see on half the cars. I simply cannot understand why people will defend any aspect of these games. When its so obvious they are decent games that simply arent tested and finished. There are bugs in gtao that are older than a large amount of the people playing it.
