Battlefield 2042's Season 2 and new map arrives August 30th. DICE and EA gave me hands on with some of the new content via the EA Creator Network, so let's check out gameplay on Stranded, new weapons like the PF51, the new specialist Crawford and his machine gun turret, concussion grenade, and more. Wish the devs had "hit their stride" 3 years ago when this game was still in development instead of a year after it came out when most of the players moved on to other games.
Honestly looks awesome, just bitter sweet if they don’t announce a second year of support though. Seems like the game is really turning around but at the same time nearing the end of its cycle..
they will after season 4.
They will pull the plug as soon as season 4 ends. They've done their legal obligations so there is no reason to beat the dead horse any longer.

@@glumboi9946 Noooooo no no no, not going to happen. DICE and EA has already admitted multiple times how badly 2042 is performing. Updating 2042 after they have delivered what they promised is not going to benefit EA in any way. In fact if they'd continue updating the game, the whole game becomes unprofitable (worthless) for EA. It's so obvious DICE wants to just toss all the seasons out as quickly as they can so they can leave this game behind and focus on the next game.

Imo Crawford and Boris should be best friends. Imagine you as one and your buddy the other. Both of you call in a ranger, tell them to run off and patrol nearby on point. Boris sets his auto turret and Crawford sets he's mini gun. Sounds like a great flag defense combo that is only improved with support from other specialist like Irish setting down a shield for the minigun and APS. Rarely do I see people employing "force multiplier" techniques. But no one can stop me from dreaming them.

This map is really good I like it! We need more maps like this.
Insane to think about that one single DLC in BF3/4/1 had nearly as much content as the whole lifecycle of 2042...
Since the end of BFV i changed my view on "live service Battlefield" and honestly would gladly shell out 10-15 $ two times a year just to get the amount of dlc content BF4 and 3 recieved

Other people hate infantry maps, other people hate big vehicle maps and that's the beauty of previous games that you have a vast variety of maps to choose from.

I'm excited for the concussion grenade. Is it bad that I actually have the MOST KILLS out of any grenade in BF4 with the Flash Grenade? People and their penchant for putting down C4 on Locker makes for an interesting experience.
The inside of the scattered ship is what i was hoping Manifest would be. Thanks god we got it at least this way.

No it just uses the same stock Its based off of the FN EVOLYS, which was trialed by the US & UK, and apparently used to some capacity by the French Special Forces

I don't really approve of the P50/PF51 making it as a secondary. Remember how everybody ran the G18 in BF4?
Playing with it, that thing is totally feels like a primary in a secondary slot. Like I can get a k30 and get the same effect with a little bit for range
I agree adding rework or old map from past titles are not new maps the content has always been a issue for battlefield it's the drip feeding and never work player leave due to getting bored with the same maps over and over. Do I see this lasting past the requirement of 4 season no I don't. Steam count for player 2042 is still behind bfv bf1 as max player on those two are still more then steam of 2042.

Is really hard to get hype or being Happy about this, specially when nothing on old gen has improved since launch
they should have never came out with the game on last gen...
Not to sound like one of those guys, but past gen versions of the game are probably a part of the reason why 2042 launched so poorly. They're trying to get the game to run on 5-10 year old hardware at this point, and there is only so much they can do to stretch performance on a console that came out 9 years ago (Xbox One and PS4). As much as it sucks, I think it's time to leave last gen behind completely (even though I agree that 2042 needs to be fixed on last-gen consoles 100% since they sold the game on those platforms). Going forward though, I really want to see developers drop support for last-gen and see MSFT/Sony push out more next-gen consoles to get people the ability to upgrade. Past gen consoles are hampering how good new games can be since devs have to cater to old hardware.

The maps looks beautiful! I loved season one. The game is getting better with each update! I don’t care if the reworks ain’t new content. Its necessary. Kaleidescope is so much better. Can’t wait for renewal and orbital. Once they are all done Combined with the new And portal maps the game will have a solid map rotation. Its different yes but still very bf to me and I’m having a blast.

People that thought the concussion grenade would be op, how many times did you see someone use the flash in BF4? Right. Never.
You just know Paik is gonna be awful in this map, either way it looks very fun!

It definitely looks a lot better, but it’s too late for me. I’ve moved on and don’t see myself reinstalling. I’ll keep an eye on the next game and if they go back to classes and if see evidence of better post launch content then maybe, and I mean MAYBE, I’ll buy the next game.

@G G He may only be one person but by not playing it he shows his displeasure with the state of it and how it launched. If everyone did this then perhaps they'd be quick about releasing a decent game on launch or at least making sure the next one is decent hopefully. Also better is a matter of opinion. Perhaps he hates heroes and finds it too big a hurdle to get over. If so then no map, no matter how good would make any difference. But he also said he may spend money on the next game assuming it has the "legacy features" brought back. He never said he definitely would.

Game's looking much better now. Season one brought me back from playing 5-10 hours a month to 10-12 hours per week and season two looks to be another solid addition that'll keep me playing.

As much as DICE deserves to get dunked on I will admit that they are finally steering the ship in the right direction after the update about putting Specialists into classes. They still have miles and miles worth of improvements to make though and I won't forget that it took them this long to figure this out and how piss poor the state of the game was at launch.
Hopefully they will take these lessons into the next game

Well said and I absolutely agree. I've noticed that many people (most likely with tinted glasses) seem to have already almost forgiven Dice for the state of the game after getting one map and rumours that the next one is better again. I can understand lowering expectations but ffs don't praise them profusely for this delayed content. I swear Dice could piss in a jar for the next game and the same people who got duped this time would assure people it's solid gold. If they mess up again on the next one (hopefully not) they will still make their money thanks to these people.
@@johnoneill3654 I will give praise where it's due like you said when they deserve it but I won't forget what we had to go through to get to this place. I really hope people remember this when they are thinking about pre-ordering another BF or any game for that matter.

fixing the current maps is a good thing for the long term experience of the game. wish they did that in last games too.
Previous games barely had any "2042 level of terrible" maps so they didn't need actual rework. And also, there was 3x more maps to choose from so one bad map didn't weigh as much on the scale as 2042's maps do.
@@jrh7178 Reworks of maps give a fresh feel to them tho which I personally really enjoy. The Kaleido rework feels good imo.

@@capolean2902 I just did few days ago, hopped onto couple of servers on BF4 that rotated all base game maps. Also, just yesterday played full lobby mixed and base game conquests on BF1. Obviously there are Locker only maps and stuff but that doesn't mean that's all people play😂

This game definitely not worth grinding. You can jump in and have a good couple of matches but not worth spending hundred of hours into it unlike previous titles

Honestly even this looks great, its just too late. The community moved on and is not ever gonna go mainly go to play BF2042 over the other titles. They just look like they are having an Early Access Battlefield title
