For me 2d platformers are the best. Katana zero, blasphemous, hollow knight and ori series... All amazing, fast and well designed mechanics made me in love with them. Currently waiting for anomaly agent, another 2d platfomer with pixel art visuals. It's been a while since I played a good game from this genre and I'm really excited for this one!

Not a fan of Pixel/Side view Indie games but "Punch Club 2", "This War of Mine" and "Dave the Diver" were really great that got me hooked more than most AAA and 1st/3rd Person games.

But besides that most AAA games are reskin of a reskin of a reskin like CoD, Battlefield and nearly all Ubisoft games so it gets boring real quick so you start trying various Indie games since they offer something new and unique most of the time.
The lack of Journey and Return of Obra Dinn on the list is a mistake. The lack of the Outer Wilds is a crime.
the list is great, but definetely missing some indie titles like : Castle Crashers A Short Hike Death's Door Webbed Rain World Blasphemous series! and THE LONG DARK!! with them this list would be perfect
