The US Senate has approved a $95bn (£76bn) foreign aid package that includes military support for Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan.
President Joe Biden is expected to sign the legislation into law on Wednesday.
The Senate, on Tuesday evening, backed the measure passed by the US House of Representatives on Saturday.
It includes $61bn in military aid for Ukraine, which the Pentagon says can start being delivered to the war-torn nation "within days".
It passed in a bipartisan vote of 79-18.

  • 35 trillion dollar in DEBT….. . . 95 billion per month is needed to service the debt..

    @gastronomistmd5078@gastronomistmd50789 күн бұрын
    • TLDR: Debt is only a problem if you don't understand how it works. If I take out £1,000,000 of debt, and use that £1,000,000 to buy property, rent it out and make income from that property. Meanwhile, the house value increases also. And after say, 10 years, I have a £1,500,000 value property, with also a couple of hundred thousand extra in rent. I have £1,800,000 for example in total assets. The debt, presuming to have increased at say, 4% interest, will now however only be a total value of £1,216,652.90. (Presuming interest only, and none of it is paying off original debt which isn't necessarily the case) That would mean that in those 5 years, while your debt has increased, you have actually made £600,000 profit. Which is very significant. This is how and why a country runs debt. Not doing so, actually makes 0 financial sense. Running the books so that you don't accrue debt sounds good to the financially illiterate, but the the financially literate means that you're losing out on enormous potential earnings. Now, this is a cummulative effect too remember. So we looked at the growth of that money over 5 years, but it scales exponentially due to compounding growth (as does debt). So if your debt and earnings both scale at say 10%, the earnings still earned more than the difference in debt growth. So, for example, the £1,800,000 gross profit would have 10% growth being £180,000. The debt growth of 10% would become £1,100,000, an increase of £100,000. £100,000 is obviously a lot smaller than £180,000 and therefore the scaling effect means that over time, you get exponential growth.

If nobody wants to rent your house for such amount and worst case scenario your house, depreciates, and value, which in real economics it should. ( let’s get into depreciations for this topic .) 2. what if nobody wants to give you more loans? You deem to be unworthy or receiver junk credit trading. And there falls your house of cards. You have an entire pyramid scheme of debt and the debt servicing more debts . Countries should have debt in our modern economics. I agree with your stands on that but when it crosses at threshold, it is absolutely important to get your ship in shape before it is sail worthy

If only a bucket of that 95 billion USD could be diverted to us, gosh, our military could probably upgrade soo many aging weapons here and be a top notch military in the ASEAN region. hahahaha I mean, the US is our ally, maybe they could spare us 5-10 billion USD a year too for us to be able to defend ourselves here with China. 😂 By the looks of it, Ukraines a lost cause to me now anyway given the failed counter offensive last year and Russia is only getting its military industrial complex pumping more weapons and troops day by day. Any weakness here would be a weakness on the US chain of islands surrounding Chinas access to the Pacific anyway. So, spare us some of that sweet 95 billion USD foreign military assistance budget maybe?. 🤣🤣🙏🙏

If we can keep this war localized to a stalemate in Ukraine by sending weapons it could very much save us countless lives and money compared to a Russian victory which would just embolden Putin to keep the winning streak going by invading Transnistria or Georgia.
