Paul Dean, a United States official in the State Department, asked China and Russia to declare that only humans - and not artificial intelligence (AI) - will make decisions on deploying nuclear weapons.
Officials in China and Russia have not immediately issued a comment.
A dizzying array of AI-assisted tools is under development or already in use in the defence sector.

Before urging China and Russia, US State Department must ensure US is not doing it itself. From what we see today, US is saying one thing but doing the opposite.

they probably tested it and their end results shows deploying AI to control nuclear weapons is a bad idea. Perhaps 95% confidence rate that AI chose to launch nuclear weapons for seemingly nothing.
I seem to remember usa doing a wargame with s AI, and the AI always fired first, as it is paranoid by design and expects to be attacked anyways.

Most of the interview was about AI in warfare, but the guest did briefly mention how the tech companies say AI will be workers' assistants and every company asks the tech companies instead, "How many workers can I lay off with AI?" And yet to lighten the mood at the end, they go to a musician who's having fun with AI to write songs. He just made it clear that she has worked for the company to acknowledge some may view her opinions as biased.
