This Is WHY You Fish BIG Glide Baits In The Summer!

Summertime is one of my favorite times of the year due to the fish being shallow and aggressive! This time of the year, fishing glide baits are a great way to cover a lot of water and get some exciting bites along the way! Today, we head out in search of an early morning glide bait bite!

    • I do very short fast glides on the bait. The bait was designed to have a more nose down glide which I like cause it allows the bait to get to a perfect depth without having to turn it into a slow sink. I use the floating model on mine btw

  • Geoff, this is sick!!! Is this the floating 178? It looks like you upgraded to 3x hooks to change the sink rate to more of a suspend/heavy float type thing. I could be totally mistaken though! lol. Any insight would be most appreciated. I've been throwing the 178F a lot recently in NJ with Zappu suspend strips and man, it's such an interesting bait. Nothing swims like it. Thanks for the vid, man!

    @BIGFISHSYNERGY@BIGFISHSYNERGY Жыл бұрын
    • Yes, it’s the floating 178, those hooks are actually light hooks, size 2 Owner ST 45, I don’t change the sink rate on the bait due to how the bait will nose down and get down to the key 1-3’ range in the water. I fish it fast so no need to worry about slow glides and it rising to the surface too quick

  • Big Glide Baits= serious lure addiction.. it's a sickness & the best remedy is to buy another 1! Gancraft is a great bait...don't thinking have the floating version...yet 😆 next purchase, I may try the 13 fishing Glidesdale for $20...likely not in the Gancraft, megabass, deps league of baits, but probably catches fish & for $20 worth adding to the collection...u still using fluoro? Monofilament is the only line I trust on big baits with trebles

    @Fishing_DeJarnett@Fishing_DeJarnett Жыл бұрын
    • It’s definitely a bit harder than just throwing a soft bait over the grass but I know of a guy named Kieth out in Florida and he does good luck throwing the Deps 250 and Klash baits over grass. He seems to always keep the bait as close to the grass as possible without ever hooking it. I believe he treats it like fishing a wall where the closer to the ambush spot, the better. The fish will come up and hit your bait in that depth so keeping the bait high won’t hurt either
