Yeah, no way would you get a used car here in Australia for 250 pounds. Only thing you might get is a civic with a blown headgasket and trashed body. You need to spend at least 1k aud to get something that runs and drives.

@Advocatus Diaboli could just be a wheel speed sensor, worst case abs module, pull it off a junker, fuel could be something as simple as bad spark plugs not burning all the fuel or it running rich from a old clogged air filter, both really simple fixed most likely, all I know is over here in Idaho, that's a 2500$ car in the condition it's in, 3000-3500 with no lights (required for emissions testing)
The Volvo costs less than an airconditioner, you might aswell buy it as an aircon and then get a car for free🤷♂️

I once bought a car for £1 when I worked for webuyanycarS.com (a rip off webuyanycar.com) and a lady in central London called us with a Ford ka and I offered the £1 as the fees for us to collect it were higher than it's value so as a gesture the £1 was offered. The car was mint, 1 owner low mileage and when the driver arrived with the car a trader was waiting with £750 who went on to sell it for £1200ish. It's a rarity but as a motor trader it's a story I love to tell. 🤘

I think that site might be a bit wrong, as there's a UK owner's club for Ladas and they have quite decent sized meetups - a friend of mine (who is, admittedly, quite, quite mad) has two Rivas and a Niva, all currently road legal, so I know there are definitely a few left.

Bought Yaris for £200, drove it for 3 years and 65.000 miles, then sold it for scrap for £70. Only thing that ever needed actual replacement was exhaust (rotted to bits) and needed to get tyres for MOT. Just regular oil changes every 10.000 miles, and couple of lightbulbs. Absolute best value for money ever.

Man I bought a k11 Micra for £200 and I'd happily drive that to Scotland from the south coast of England and back (if you pay for petrol and accomodation ;) ) If you know what you're looking for and don't care about aesthetics (helps if you don't mind working on it yourself too) then you can grab a reliable car for a good price.
Buy a 2004 Mustang GT. Cheap sport car. :)

Se passi per un'agenzia pratiche auto (anche solo un ACI) capace che ti buttano su più di 100 euro. Poi da regione a regione cambia. Sta di fatto che è una merda.
