1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302 Trans-Am in action at Festival of Speed w/ LOUD V8 Sounds!
Here's a video of the 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302 race car that was entered in the 2023 Shootout of the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the hands of Fred Shepherd.
This particular car should be the one entered in the British Saloon Car Championship by Fleetwood Motor Engineers in early 1970s. The car was successfully campaigned by Richard Lloyd and secured 4 wins. In 1974, the car was entered into the Avon Tour of Britain where Lloyd once again drove, sponsored by Simoniz car polish and towards the end of the Mustang’s tour, Castrol Motor Oil and Charles Austen Pumps Ltd.
This Boss 302 returned to compete in the Gerry Marshall Trophy during the 2019 Goodwood Members Meeting, driven by Romain Dumas and Bill Shepherd. Last year the car was at the Festival of Speed and for the occasion it was converted to run a more liberal Trans-Am style of component regulations to it's normal European Group 1 spec.
Listen to the loud sound of the 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine!

There was a little old lady across from me that owned one of these when I was little kid. The teenager down the street had a 68 Firebird and my dad had a 65 Mustang convertible. Those were the days....
I was a kid in 70's. Muscle cars had a huge impression on me! In mid eighties, and now driving, couldn't afford one. But thankfully muscle is back :-) Now have a 13 Boss, and an LS7 Z06. Who new life would be so great again? Yahoo :-)
Cant believe it's been months and there are still goodwood videos being uploaded! Next year I MUST go. Nice car!
Got those legendary 351 Cleveland heads on that Boss! Master class DNA
American muscle at Goodwood. Excellent. ✌🏻🇺🇸
The ‘70 Boss 302 and the ‘69 Z28 are the cars that I grew up with seeing, reading about and wanting to own. While I never did own either, I did, in ‘73, get a chance to test drive a beautiful’70 Boss 302, in yellow with a black fender stripe and an equally beautiful green Z28. If I remember right the Boss was going for about $2600 and the Z for $1600, which at the time were out of my price range. If I only knew then what I know now about those cars…😮 Thanks for posting.
79?
@@ChristopherOvrebo 😂 good catch. Edited it - ‘70
@@Eddie07S as soon as I read your typo my brain tried to picture a fox body boss and it just didn't compute. That would have been cool though
🔥🔥🔥 Nascar V8 sound = marvelous!!!!!! Great thanks to you!!!! 😉👍👍👍👌
Such a cool looling thing. Love the silhouette. The noise speaks for itself. Thanks!
That dude was hauling ass!!! 😲😲
What?
awesome
Epic car! Didn't think a 302 had this much in it! Always Bozzy 🏁🇮🇹🏁!!
Very Cool
Some proper V8 noises coming from that beast
Yes! V8 N/A.
5.0L V8 Sounds soo raw!! But i prefer more Shelby GT350R so iconic design and that sound.
I thought these would have a manual
0:00 that car, those who know 💀
strange to see it with all 4 wheels attached 😄
@@BlandNutz I wonder if the woman it nearly decapitated is aware of how close she came yet
