I know, It's just that, he's been the host on"Jeopardy" from the very beginning and (to me at least) it won't seem quite the same anymore you know?
I know that, I know life goes on but, it will take some time (at least for some of us) to get used to not seeing him anymore you know?
Alex was always the gentleman. I am from his home province of Ontario Canada. We in Canada are so proud of "our Alex". He will be missed big time. Our evenings will have to get used to someone new. We can do it. Love you Alex. ❤🇨🇦🙏
A guy from Sudbury, graduated from U of Ottawa (and gave funding to the university), worked through a plethora of shows until he met with the right show at the right time, and made knowledge look 'cool'. He's a hero of mine.
Thanks for sharing him with us for all these years! He was a part of my evening dinner for 30 yrs or more, we all mourn his loss. Legend.

I think that continuing to work at something he loved, continuing his "normal" lifestyle, kept him alive so long. He was/is a role model of faith, optimism, good humor, and tenacity. You will be missed, Alex! ❤️
What I was gonna say as well in response to that topic. If he had just given up and retired after the diagnosis, he probably would've died much sooner. Staying on as host until the end gave him purpose.
Alex Trebek will be missed but he is not the guy who I would’ve had a crush on when I was younger when I was younger I had a crush on Shaun Cassidy it’s still kind of do but he will be missed he was the best host a Jeopardy and even when they replace him nobody can really take his place because he was the best cost on that show and he will be missed they should show some episodes on a regular basis so people will always play to remember him of course he will never be forgotten in peoples hearts though nobody can really take Alex Trebek’s placed in peoples hearts

I watched Jeopardy from when it started in 1984 and I can say this must when I heard about Alex Trebek's passing away I felt like someone in my own family was gone because I missed a show and I'm only 43 years old. So what I would like to say Mr. Trebek's family is thank you for sharing him with me.He was a grate help through out my school years
There were subtle moments where one could sense he wasn't well. His voice, his body language, his eyes.

Watching this segment just choked me up I literally grew up with this guy literally I watched him with my mother and when I grow up and had kids they watched it with me and replays at the dinner table almost everyday

I watched Jeopardy since I was a kid with my great grandparents and my grandparents. I loved the show, every time I hear the the show coming on downstairs, I run so fast to watch it with my grandparents. Alex Trebek’s suit always changes and that made me dress nicely because that man inspired me to dress appropriately with professionalism. It won’t be the same without him around and not gonna lie, I cried when we lost such a wonderful soul and host. Rest Easy, Alex!

I don’t believe he had the final say, but it’s clear at this point that he desperately wanted to host and tried to do everything he could behind the scenes to make it happen. This is really super sad thing I never really watch Jeopardy but my parents to our past love Jeopardy and I had other friends and family who love Jeopardy so it is a sad thing that he had passed and I feel sorry for their family who lost him and his friends it was lost and his biggest fans I still like them I still know we had to have failed sorry that he had a pass on it’s good that they show old shows so you get to see them on now

Only three weeks of episodes have been taped since Alex died, as per posts on Jboard and the Jeopardy Reddit page. No word on whether anyone besides Ken will be hosting. They will presumably run from Jan 11-29. Jeopardy will return to taping on 1/11 unless COVID concerns in California shut it down longer.
