‘Jeopardy!’ Host Alex Trebek Spent His Final Day With His Wife

2020 ж. 8 Қар.
1 321 302 Рет қаралды

Alex Trebek gave a simple yet powerful statement as to what he wanted his legacy to be after the iconic game show host was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last spring. Trebek told “Entertainment Tonight” in May 2019 that he wanted to be remembered “just as a good guy.” Trebek, the host of "Jeopardy!" for nearly 40 years, died Sunday after battling pancreatic cancer. He was 80 years old. Trebek is survived by his wife, with whom he spent the final day of his life, just as he’d said he wanted to. #InsideEdition

He always loved a competitive set of contestants and I think Alex got really fired up with the Tournaments. It’s great having a game show that really encourages learning and knowledge, and a host that was so enthusiastic. RIP.

  • He was such a gentle, down to earth gentleman and kind soul. Loved his manerism with the contestants... there was never any demeaning undertones if they got an answer wrong, just genuine enjoyment being able to be a part of the learning process - for the contestants and viewers benefit as well as for his own enlightenment too.

Alex demeanor helped glued audiences to the screen lead to such great success for the show's ratings. Alex being a CANADIAN played a big part in my desire to see him exhale. I credit his parents and him for his gentle, considerate and thoughtfulness he represents throughout his life. I hope that his wife, children, family and encountered friends know how blessed and privileged they were to have meet such treasured soul. ALEX TREBEK, you have lived life to the fullest. You left a legacy that we could only dream of achieving. WELL DONE, you deserve that peace. Am sad, but I such is life. We all miss you. R.I.P ALEX TREBEK

I always begged my dad to go on the show as he often got every single answer right, except the pop culture ones where I would come in. But he was too shy. we both loved Alex, I’m so sad he’s gone, and i never got to met him or thank him. Now my dad and I don’t have anything it common, something we both like. It breaks my heart.
