  • Wear protective gear! I cannot stress this enough, I've seen multiple youtubers and fellow resin artists develop respiratory illnesses because they didn't wear respirator. You need protective glasses as well, the fumes can hurt your eyes. Epoxy resin doesn't have a scent so a lot of people dont take this seriously and get hurt. Be safe and resin your little heart out.

  • I recommend not using a lot of plastic that you just throw away. Cups holding a canvas might get dirty but just let it dry and reuse them. Plastic covering work surfaces can also be used many times. Save your money, and help reduce harmful plastic in the environment while creating beautiful art.

    @elsef6798@elsef67986 жыл бұрын
    • Else F I do reused my cups as the resin once it's drys just peels off. The resin also peels off the baking paper too. 😊

    • Great idea. To be more mindful of this!!!! It's so easy to just toss stuff in the trash when we don't want to wash things out... like paint. I need to be more mindful myself so thanks for mentioning it!

  • Thank you for the nice video! I really recommend to wear gloves (you never know exactly if there will fall any drops on your skin) and respirator when working with resin. Even if it doesn´t smell that bad it can give off toxic fumes.

    @SchemaFuchs@SchemaFuchs6 жыл бұрын
    • Can you send me the scientific evidence proving resin gives off toxic fumes?

      @michaelburry9096@michaelburry90964 жыл бұрын
    • Exactly! Just because you cannot smell it, it doesn’t mean it isn’t harmful. All it means is that you cant smell the fumes slowly killing you. Resin should always be handled with gloves and in a ventilated area, so if you dont have a respirator, go outside instead. Many people are not aware of this!

  • Sheri, I have watched your videos & love your beautiful art works. I have tried & getting to understand acrylic pour & swipe technique and I would like to venture into resin art. There is very little information on how to mix resin colour using acrylic paint. As I live in Hong Kong there is no access to resin pigments like in Australia or the US , hence I am more or less stuck with acrylic paint for colouring. Other source says acrylic being a water based product which does not mix well with resin. I will however try using make up podwer for glittering effect. Please be so kind to advise on mixing acrylic of acrylic paint for resin art!

Have you done this type of thing before. Picture first let it dry then poured the epoxy over the top. If so do you have a brand of epoxy to recommend for this type of thing. My concern is the epoxy will soften the paint and when i trowel the excess it will smear or streak the painting? Any advice? Thank you, Mick

  • Is there a substitute I can use instead of a blowtorch? I looked it up and it said I shouldn’t but I have seen many others used hairdryers and even just blew through a straw and their pieces came out really well.

  • Sheri, you work is lovely and so neat and clean, not like some I have watched making a big mess an so much waste. Do you add something to thin the resin to get it to pour easy? Keep up the beautiful work!!!

    • Elaine Moltrup the resin I liked to use is not as thick as other resin I've tried. You can always add a little bit of acetone in to your resin. Just be careful that you don't add too much because it will effect the resin setting.

  • Pro tip, lower the music levels because makes it hard to hear you. But thank you so much for the tips! I don't know why, but all of a sudden I had this huge interest for this kind of art. I'm a graphic designer, this is going to be an excellent hobbie and a way to make some cash who knows :D

  • Very interesting, wouldn't it be a good idea to put a board over the top of it so dust doesn't get into it while it's drying?
