    • @@Aaron-zu3xn a wombat is unlikely to be killed by other wildlife. There are no natural predators of wombats in areas where you find wombats - but even dingoes and wild dogs would leave a wombat alone if they encountered each other (which is so unlikely its almost impossible). Its cars that are the big killer. I cant tell you how many wombats Ive seen dead on the M5 and Princes Highway between Sydney and Canberra. Its a lot. Thats probably what happened to this fella's mum. They didnt say it but I suspect they placed his new burrow away from traffic areas that are the main threat to him.

For some reason you don't comment about bears in the US and Canada. You can't argue that alligators are not a danger because of low numbers in a city when the exact same applies to crocodiles. They are mostly found in the swampy areas of the Northern Territory and zoos. But I saw a video of an alligator in a suburban street in Florida that a man managed to trap in a wheelie bin. I know vultures are scavengers but tell that to the person who is still conscious when they attack. 'Teen Folk Singer Killed by Coyotes' video.

  • AWWWWW... Heart Warming and also very sad... The letting go! YOU are a WONDERFUL MAMA... Thank You for BEING YOU!!💯 YOU ARE THE KIND OF PERSON WE NEED SO MUCH MORE OF... BLESS YOU...✨ IT TAKES SOMEONE LIKE YOU TO LOVE AND MOTHER THESE LITTLE BABIES TO PREPARE THEM - SO THEY CAN RETURN BACK HOME ( to the wild).. I KNOW IT HURTS TO DO WHAT YOU DO BECAUSE THESE ANIMALS DO HAVE A PLACE IN OUR HEARTS.. I SEE and I HEAR THE JOY and the SADNESS ( because they do have to be let back to the wild) BUT... WITHOUT PEOPLE LIKE YOU "SUCH A LOVING MAMA" THERE WOULD NOT BE ANIMALS THAT LIVE AND THRIVE WHEN PUT BACK IN THE WILD... YOU ARE AMAZINGLY SPECIAL BY DOING WHAT YOU DO... I HAVE THE GREATEST LOVE & TREMENDOUS RESPECT FOR YOU ... * I ADMIRE YOU .. YOU HAVE SO MUCH STRENGTH .. WITH YOUR LOVING KINDNESS DOING ALL THE RIGHT THINGS NEEDED AS WELL AS YOUR DEVOTION TO THESE BABIES AND ALL THAT IT MUST TAKE TO BE ABLE TO DO ALL THOSE THING'S... YOU ARE AMAZING 💖 BE WELL FRIEND ✌️😘

    • Doesn't matter if there are humans around or not the wombat will ignore them and humans have nothing to do with wombats. Wombats are not hunted so are safe from hunters and as they are nocturnal they are asleep during the say when people are active.

    • You are right. We use it as a substitute for a certain, frustration relieving, word when impressionable ankle biters are present. Ankle biters is how we refer to very little human children, but not wombats, as you might expect. Though I think wombats might have been the inspiration for us in describing little kids in this way.
