In my opinion, the Beyonce line wasn't an attack at her. It's an attack on the people who'll call appropriation on a white rapper, won't bat an eye at black women who dye their hair blonde, wears weaves and/or wigs with caucasian hair structure, but then call appropriation on white women who have dreadlocks, cornrows/braids etc. That hypocritical line of thinking is what Tom is trying point out. People should be able to express themselves freely, without being called out for cultural appropriation. No race and/or ethnicity owns a hair style, music genre, method of food preparation etc. I do understand that these things originate from different cultures, and acknowledge that. But for these "dummies" to say a white guy can't rap, or a white woman can't have cornrows because these things are designated as "black only" is the same thing as saying only Italians can eat pizza, or that you can't eat tacos because you're not Mexican. This world would be hell if cultures never mixed haha
I agree with you we should be able to express ourselves freely. Something you might find interesting is dreads and braids are also a part of white culture aswell. Vikings would braids snd dread their hair and beards so it's like the world dosen't even know it's existed in white culture.

@@joshuahogg9807 very true. It's possible that braids and dreads date back even farther from an even older culture. Humans have been around roughly 200,000 years. All it takes is one traveler to bring home a "new thing" they experienced from a different culture, and then the trend spreads.

It's just Tom pointing out the hypocrisy of social justice "outrage" ... a white dude can't take part in anything that is traditionally designated a "non-white" activity, or he's appropriating culture, but all OTHER races can do things that are traditionally designated as white, and that's fine ... he's basically pointing out that - in these circumstances - the hate only flows in one direction ... to white people. What you call a reach is actually the truth... If a white boy raps then it's called "Cultural Appropriation" but if Beyonce dyes hair blonde and people say: "she's slated." Basically what that means is it's not okay and I guess this cancel culture world that we live in for a white boy to rap and if he does rap then basically that white boy just gets called another Eminem if he can flow and has bars and the white boy also gets compared to Eminem since Eminem set that bar so high for white boys to be able to rap now and white boy rappers also get called a "Culture Vulture." And you can't call that a reach because it's the undeniable truth... A lot of people don't like to acknowledge that truth especially African Americans simply because it implies that they are stealing from white people or white culture and they are wrong not right and personally... I'm just using this solely as an example. I never understood why we had to put so much stock in color that we have to be black or white because we're just fucking people and people are people!
