1964 was just all about the Beatles, my hubby tried to get tickets but all sold out, I was so upset,, we always loved the Beatles🐕🌹🇦🇺
Whenever I hear the early Beatles songs what captures me the most me being a singer is how they did their vocal harmonies. Sometimes John and Paul sing in unison and then split the end of a line in harmony...sometimes it was just a word..sometimes George popped in...the background oohhs and ahhhs. Listen to " She Loves You" how those harmonies weave in and out. It's amazing and they were way ahead of the pack on their vocals. It's said that John and Paul always wrote songs with them harmonizing and then worked out where it should be and when. To me their vocals are a work of art and a master class of how harmony should be used. My friend and I sang 58 Beatle songs using music tracks while we recorded all the vocal parts and we were astounded when we took them apart and then sang them all. The amount of harmonies and in later songs with more tracking the lushness and layers were like a rich painting. Long live the Beatles.
🧡
I've always thought the same, I think beatles harmonies are very well done for sure.
In the early days, most people's equipment was so bad, that you didn't hear a lot of the background instruments. Their strong vocals & harmonising made them stand out even more(amongst the Snap crackle & pop of records).
Mr. Paul you have the Beatles singing down packed and you definitely know what you're talking about I bet you and your band members be almost as famous as The Beatles someday if y'all ain't already
You are so right!
This is probably the most cleaned up live concert of the Beatles in earlier days. What a pleasure! Great!
I think the same 😮

It never gets old listening to Paul and George sing the last verse together on All My Loving.
They sound great together, Paul and George.
I love George's voice in this verse.
George makes that part come alive!!

"John being John 17:13" would get him canceled today... or at least some negative tweets.
@@tommost1 let’s not forget the KKK tried canceling John plus the fbi too
@@tommost1I love ❤️ the Beatles and everything about them but this stuff from John is f*cking disgraceful. I know he had a problem with handicapped people being lined up in the front row of every concert but geez, this is really awful stuff.

True, indeed. Stopped here and viewed the entire video. My first reason for checking this out was because a few months agoI found an original newspaper from Australia announcing the Beatles' arrival in 1964. It's here in my house. Now I need to go find it again and read all about the local excitement!
You should have that particular newspaper article framed & displayed!@@dandcarter

June 17, 1964...Melbourne Australia. TV show, "Beatles Sing For Shell". This is one of THE best Beatles concerts that was ever filmed and recorded!!! When they arrived in Adelaide Australia...The Beatles were greeted by OVER 350,000 + fans in the city....in Melbourne...250,000+ fans welcomed them...this is NEVER gonna happen again!!!
If I had made it to the show, I would have been 1 day old! At least I was around for it. 😉
This part in the beatle anthology has always been my fave part
@@jorgeb555I was one month.
I recently watched footage of this crowd, and I must say I was stunned. It seemed almost surreal.
On June 17, I was 17 years old (August 64 in the right photo.)
Ever since I met them, I can't tell you how much their voices and performances have made me happy and sad throughout my life. My life is full of happiness brought to me by the Beatles. And it will remain the same until the end.
John Lennon was a force of nature... his vocals on "You Can't Do That" are unbelievable. I'm not the hugest fan of his solo work but what he and Paul did together is unmatched.
His performance of “you can’t do that here” always stands out as johns top ten performances he has done.. the band was flawless John was on point vocally George nailed the ending slide on it.. Paul was keeping the bass Right in thst sweet spot.. well ringo just rocked his balls off on the back beat
Oh wow, John is my favorite rock vocalist! Love him. And on that song in particular, You Can’t Do That, he plays the lead guitar riff too! Excellent.
Couldn’t agree more. Without John’s lead vocals on so much of the early stuff it’s hard to see them making it quite as big. I have trouble reconciling the fresh faced John with that awesome voice, with the sole artist he became. The younger version was the Ferrari, the older version…o-no.
You are so right and John has a voice that can't be matched Also George and Paul have great voices and Ringo is drumming accordingly
Класс!!
I was 7 yrs. Old when they have thier concert in Australia, and now iam 68 yrs. Old and iam still listening their songs…
seriousely🤔🤔🤔all the world crezy about them..by the way Im 45 now time is going pass too fast...hava long life brother..from sri lanka
Me too!
Never stopped listening to the Beatles. I was devastated when our folks emigrated 1965 to South Africa 🇿🇦 & the Beatles were banned. 😢
All My Lovin' is one of the BEST songs of all time. John doing triplets on Rythm Guitar. Paul's walking base line and George doing the harmonizing with Paul. Perfect!
And the rest is history. They changed the world.
Simply astounding!!Im65 but i never grew tired of listening to their songs.
This is great … I saw the Beatles in 1965? at the Hollywood Bowl (California) … I say SAW because I couldn’t hear them because of all the screaming, so it’s nice to be able to hear them sing!
Great times!
Everyone who reads this, we don't know each other and probably never will but I wish you all the best in life and all the luck in the world 💕🥰
Most kind, thank you!
all the best to whoever, wherever, whatever you are planning to achieve.....huge blessings to all the sentient beings, pedestals too.....may god bless you all.......

I think thats all John wanted. All we need is love!
What an amazing time to be alive 🎸

The June 15-17, 1964 shows are the greatest Beatles performances ever. The Feb 11, 1964 Washington show is their BEST SHOW ever (re: excitement/energy) The Jan 30, 1969 Rooftop show is the greatest MOMENT in rock and roll history. IMHO. 😎🎸🎼

Great production. The opening video is the Beatles arrival at Mascot airport Sydney 6.30am Thursday 11 June 1964. I know I was there, we did our Radio 2UE breakfast session nationally in the lounge overlooking the ramp where the Boeing 707 stopped. Despite the double glazed sound proof windows we could clearly hear the hundreds of fans yelling outside. We wore 2UE/Beatles passes and security warned us not to got outside for any reason.
Think how ahead of the game this band was. They were incredible songwriters and exceptional musicians and vocalists.
Ну и роллинги
MANY. MANY MANY❤❤❤
Their concerts in 1964 and 65 were epic because they had soo many songs on the charts at the same time. They were the 1st to play at stadiums and a new term was used as Super Group. The Beatles were ahead of their time in their music because this is where Punk Rock and Heavy Metal music came from. That’s because music was now moving in that direction because the 1960’s didn’t begin until they appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show. The 1960’s was a time of change and it was attributed to four lads from Liverpool Paul, George, John, and Ringo.
this is the most clearest George Harrison's solo on I saw her standing there I'ved ever heard than the other videos on live Melbourne 1964
This is a treasured piece of history that will probably never ever be repeated in such a way?, this was originally shown live on TV in good ol' black & white transmission on Channel 9 way back in June 1964 when The Beatles toured Australia for first & last time!, it's so hard to believe that this footage is eventually approaching 60 years old?.. unbelievable but true!, the age of the vision is now obviously showing on the treasured video tape footage and thanks to today's modern technology it has been carefully remastered and well put together along with old news footage of their arrivals to Sydney (in the dreadful pouring rain), Adelaide (with the biggest crowd ever to attend anywhere in the whole world!, up to almost half a million people turned out to see them.), and of course Melbourne where this concert was first shown live on TV and recorded by Channel 9, it's so great to see this footage in full uncut version but due to some missing vision because of deteriorating video issues we can also hear some songs that was cut out of the original "Beatles sing for Shell" footage that's been circulating for years!, well remastered with more news footage overlapping the missing deteriorating concert vision and great to see the infamous bit of John Lennon encouraging the audience to clap their hands and stamp their feet?, a majority of people were obviously offended by that bit because of his spastic act and was edited over the years including on Channel 9's recent remastered "Beatles in Australia One Night Only" TV special but great to see it here uncut because like it or not that was the comedic side of John Lennon!, he was a clown underneath his songwriting brilliance and The Beatles were no doubt God gifted talents that will probably never ever be repeated?, God bless The Beatles!🎶🎸🎵☮️
❤
People would love to misunderstand John for every reason they choose. Without John there would B no Beatles as he led the way in almost everything Beatle-- On and off stage and recording studios!
Well said, well written, covered many details. People forget that John led the way in almost everything; a true leader. Imagine! ....he always spoke his mind in music and everything it's got to do with and most of all I guess he wasn't selfish in the studio or elsewhere. The videos say it all. People who share their views, thoughts, lyrics, like Dylan get misunderstood and questioned by others who have not arrived yet or tuned into the times they R a'changing. Let peace B the call!
Well written-- @beatlefancraig67 simply forgot to mention the clown in him and how John Lennon talked and clowned with journalist who did not understand him at all. He definitely set the standards for other musicians to follow when dealing with the press not forgetting the British humour which V don't C these days.
Almost certainly peak live performance and shows exactly what they were made of... F***ing outstanding 👍
The Beatles were always top notch performers.

Those 14 hour shifts on the stage in Hamburg night after night from 1960 to early '63. They honed their craft. Outstanding show, Lads!! Great performance!
Such an awesome group! So young ( 19-23) at their best in early 60’s. Their live performances were amazing n it was a privilege to grow up in their best years. I was 12 when they first hit Australia 🇦🇺 and from there it was just a fabulous musical journey for them n me ! Their harmonies in the live performances is so special! They energise all who listen . THE GREATEST BAND EVER!
We've always had the best music. Had so much fun.
I am 66 years old and have loved listening to this music all my life.
Plenty of time to Keep Dancing!!!
I’m 77 and still listening, always remember my uncle saying at the family Christmas party of 63, “you won’t hear anything of this band next Christmas”,😂😂😂
Me too! I’m still just as excited and happy when I see them! Back then, I was just a kid, but. Fell in love HARD … and forever. ❤️

What a wonderful story, of great music, of a wonderful, unforgettable English band. It will exist for 1000 years.😍🤩😘
Hello Julia, how are you doing today
With Peter Jackson's de-mixing technology, and video upscaling, colourizing technology, this could look amazing on the big screen!! 😮
Incredible footage, amazing clarity, always the greatest band. True musicians..
and John's guitar solo on You Cant Do That? I didn't know he did it. Spectacular! 😮👏👏👏
John played lead on “you can’t do that” and sang
✨ It's fascinating to watch the audiences from 1964, the Beatles have them whipped up in a wild frenzy of excitement, yet they still remained seated, not even standing, no one was rushing the stage at them, and I saw no security around the stage! MY, how times have changed, and Not for the better!
By this time John, Paul and John had ten thousand hours of playing together. Very dedicated, hard workers. Great show!
What, no mention of John, John, Paul and Paul?
The harmonies are still there, which are the trademark of every Beatles song. Now and then is a great tribute to the best group ever.
Thank you KZhead!❤
The sound quality is so good that I am amazed.
28:23 This was the last song of the concert and 19 year old Brent McAuslan made a spontaneous decision to run toward the stage. He had his female friend wave her arms and make the police think she was going to run up on stage to distract the police who had made a ring around the stage. When the police were distracted with his friend, Brent McAuslan made his move and climbed up on stage wearing his Beatle boots and got to shake hands with John Lennon. John said, "How are you cobber?"(Which means male friend in Australia.) Brent figured it was the last song so if they throw him out he wouldn't have missed anything. After he shook hands with John, the police quickly got him and was going to arrest him. But as the Beatles were coming off stage, Paul McCartney asked the police to let him go. And they let him go.😊
Wow, that was amazing! That guy looked so much like John Lennon, it looked like Lennon was running up on stage to shake Lennon"s hand! Thanks for that!!
Paul is always nice guy
Thanks for the insight. It was the perfect end to a perfect show - and Lennon seemed to dig the guy's tenacity.
He was my mate from boarding school. I was at the concert too but didn’t realise it was him until later ; we met up and had a laugh the next day. Good times.
@@davidmartin1015I read somewhere that Brent had recently won a John lookalike contest. Is this true? It was a great moment. John looked shocked at seeing his doppleganger, but was very good humoured about it.
Why hasn't this had an official release on DVD/Blu-ray? Fantastic quality, deserving of one.
I'v been asking this for many years Hopefully one day it goes happen the footage is just amazing and the sound quality fantastic also !
Just wait til Peter Jackson gets ahold of it.
There the best! Wish I could have been there. John's so cute. Love the lyrics to all.❤
I’ve heard the Beatles say that America had nothing on Australia when it came to the welcome they received.
From the backstage stories I've read about, 100% true
The Beatles are Forever...Brazil loves the Beatles
Timeless, the greatest band of all time and cannot be equaled.
Owwwww..😊
I’m stunned by how amazing this video looks and sounds! As someone who is very familiar with earlier versions, I can say that somebody used techniques that worked _wonders!_ (Upscaling the video, doubling the frame rate; AI software on the audio, probably a LOT of re-EQing!) The original audio is riddled with problematic anomalies; for example, an omnipresent “rumble” that has certain tones (which might be best described as “hum”-but not just the typical 60/120/180/240Hz hum) which I assume were reduced via notch filtering. (There was a tone at around 75Hz that I noticed in the original-not certain what would generate that.) In the original-as is often the case in live Beatles recordings-George’s guitar wasn’t loud enough in the mix. This is especially noticeable in the first half of “All My Loving,” during which John’s guitar is the loudest component! The AI software, while not perfect, somewhat isolated the drums and John’s guitar, sending them to left and right, while placing George’s guitar more in the middle. All of this really breathed new life into this performance! My hat is off to whoever produced this video! Incredible job!
Channel 9 Australia shot this and btw mains freq here is 50 hZ.
Thanks for the interesting breakdown

I saw the Beatles 1964 at Indianapolis, the crowd was way more excited. Amazing event. Changed my musical career. Yeah Yeah Yeah TD Atlanta
They were just brilliant! Such power!
Festival Hall Melbourne, one of the few Beatles venues in the world still standing. The Victorian State Government saved it from being demolished. Now announced today 15 June 2023 that it is being returned to a music venue. Tonight is a Beatles night at Festival Hall with top bands playing Beatles music. This is on the 59th anniversary of the Beatles playing there in June 1964.

Finally, a sound man who put the vocals above the instruments. These guys usually worked without monitors.
There voices work so good together. Beatle hair, Beatle boots, Beatlemania. They made being a teenager more exciting.
Great music, grew up in the late 50's and 60's, great memories, the Beatles, Stones, Moody Blues, and a million more, too many to name.

Wonderful music of the three decades.. great songs, still sing along. Great memories of my lifetime of joys, happy times, some tears. It's been a wonderful ride so far.. hope it brings memories to each and all of you.. I love it!!Best wishes to all.

They were the best... They were trying to do a show, but with all these annoying screamings I think it would had been so difficult to do it... So frustrating. They said that they didn't hear a thing on stage, and the fact that they didn't miss a note is outstanding. I love you Beatles!!!! The Fab Four!!!!!!!❤️

When I get older, losing my mind Will you be so kind Will you still reach me Will you still teach me Leaving times behind So I can say ten words a day That would be so nice and fine I'll pay cash, bring a bottle of wine When I'm sometimes a little late Don't be angry, that's what I also hate Next time I put on the running shoe, That's what I promise to you Will you still teach me Sorry, it won't be easy When I'm 84 You will be older too And if you say: Learn and stay I always will be at you Because you make my Denglish Into a wonderful English I could be helpful, could be of use Wash the dishes, clear the plates Clean all the floors and doors And I paint, if you want, the gates If you need things of repair I'll do it, even I cut families hair I could repair the lights and phone When they have gone I could knit a sweater by the fireside I could your daughter take out for a ride Doing the garden, digging the weeds Who could ask for more? Will you still teach me, It wouldn't be easy, When I'm 84 Every summer you take a big rest That would be really the best For all of you and me too You don't have to think What's going on at my home I always stay there on my own I'll have a look In my English-Book For teaching me English You may be long and far away I have a lot to pay, It's private, I say You can be lazy And I drive crazy Send me a postcard Drop me a line This would be so fine Give me your answer I hope of YES Fill in a form without any stress YES Your teacher for evermore Will you still teach me It wouldn't be easy Will you still teach me - so I can see When I'm 84 !!! Danke an die Beatles und Andy ❤️🌹❤️🍀❤️💐❤️

There used to exist on KZhead about 8+ years ago the full 90 (approx) minute version of this show including the support acts, Johnny Chester, Johnny Devlin, Sounds Incorporated and a couple of others I think (in the original aspect ration 4:3) and in this quality. Sadly no longer available, but it just showed the distance between all the contemporary acts of the day compared to The Beatles. When you watched the show from start to finish, working through the individual acts and performers, The Beatles seemed light years ahead of what everyone else was doing. The vast majority of the established pop acts prior to The Beatles landing, people like Bobby Rydell, Neil Sedaka, Frankie Avalon etc, became practically redundant overnight - the reason why? Just watch this video - all is revealed!!!
That's true. I saw that video over 10yrs ago. There were some American shows where you saw the support acts but KZhead has since shut them down due to copyright issues.
Incredible audio of incredible concert:
No pre-recorded background music, no auto tuning, no fancy stage backgrounds with smoke and lighting. No ghost song writers, No foul rap, profanity, and crotch grabbing. Just 4 creative well dressed courteous musicians , 3 guitars, a couple amplifiers, and a modest drum set. Those were the days. And music was never the same again. Hard to believe this was almost 69 years ago.
Кто это Тейлор Свифт? Я ЖИВУ в России, не знаю. Знаю Лед зеппелин, Пинк Флойд, Куин и т.д. Не слушайте шлак,люди.
lennon would spit on your "good ol' days" sentimental nostalgia. not to say anytning about your icon
Best film I've seen from that era. Can't believe how polite the audience was. Two months later at the Cow Palace in San Francisco, we screamed the whole time and stood up on our seats. Still a Beatlemaniac after all these years.
This was Australia in the early 1960s. Pretty isolated. A few years later and things would change.
10:19 looks at Paul noticing the tube distortion on the guitar riff and enjoying it!
When you revisit these these scenes of Beatlemania - it's not surprising that the band became very disenchanted with the whole touring business and decided to focus on studio work from 1966 onwards.
What a fantastic piece of film this is, a real gem. One minute Jimmy Nichol is a mere mortal the next he’s a Beatle !... Geeeze what a shock that must have been “ coming in and going out “.
