  • Nature was here before us and will remain here after us, it's not destructive it's just that we've built things in it's way.

  • Love your minimalist narration. Less is definitely more. You allow the dramatic footage to speak for itself. We don't need to see a map of the location of the footage nor a long explanation of the context. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

  • 5:12 I don’t know if I’d classify that as “Out of nowhere.” Unless it was where that truly started. But not seeing it coming is TERRIFYING! I know from experience. I was 15 and operating a combine (large moving machinery for harvesting crops.) on my grandparents wheat farm in Colorado. I have lived in Texas my entire life. My grandparents live in Texas too but have 600+ acres of wheat fields in Colorado. They go up there every summer to harvest and take care of everything. I was operating one of the combines and the directions I was moving I couldn’t see one direction too well. That and I had to focus on the ground in front of me so I would run the header into the ground. I remember making a pass and seeing my uncle waving his arms. I thought he was just waving so I waved back and continued. Next thing I know my cabin door comes flying open and my uncle is yelling at me. He had ran and caught up with my combine and jumped on it. He was yelling and pointed into the direction I hadn’t noticed. As soon as I looked up we got hit with a massive dust storm. It went from bright sunny day to DARK. He closed the door and made me stop the combine. I stood up and he took over control. He drove us back to the where the truck was and shut the machine down. He pulled out the only pair of safety glasses he had and handed them to me. He said “Put those on and as soon as I open the door get down as safe as you can a RUN TO THE TRUCK!” It was SCARY AS FUCK TO NOT BE ABLE TO SEE EVEN A FOOT IN FRONT OF YOU. Then occasionally the rag I wrapped around my head would blow up and I would have a mouth full of dirt. My uncles eyes got injured pretty bad because of all the dirt hitting him extremely hard right in to his unprotected eyes. But he said as long as I was ok he didn’t care if it blinded him.
