KEVIN HART ON: The SECRET To Success & Happiness NOBODY TALKS ABOUT (Do This In 2023) | Jay Shetty

Today, I am talking to Kevin Hart. Kevin is an actor, comedian, author, investor, and CEO. Over the years he has become Hollywood’s box office powerhouse, opening ten films at number one at the box office with $4.23 billion revenue at the global box office. In 2020 Hart starred in “Die Hart,” the first production of its kind, created through his digital network, Laugh Out Loud, and Executive Produced through his production company, Hartbeat Productions. Kevin’s memoir, I Can’t Make This Up, debuted at number one on The New York Times Best Sellers List and remained on the Top 10 Nonfiction Hardcover Bestsellers List for ten weeks straight. Kevin’s digital network, the Laugh Out Loud Network, serves as a platform for emerging comedians and is home to two premium series which both feature Kevin - “What the Fit?” and “Cold as Balls.”
We get to see Kevin’s serious side as he talks about self love and team effort. He places emphasis on the importance of focusing our energy on finding a solution rather than wasting time on the problem, how team effort is the foundation to all forms of success, why we should always consider both sides of the story, the beauty of cheering for others success and celebrating it with them, and how self love and self appreciation must start with you and not come from someone else.
Truly, there is no shortcut to success. It is earned through hard work, clear purpose, surrounding yourself with the right people, and a multitude of self love.
What We Discuss:
00:00:00 Intro
00:03:19 Looking in the mirror and being okay with yourself
00:07:38 Having parents that opens opportunities for you
00:13:06 Don’t focus on the problem, focus on the solution
00:20:45 It’s hard to see the good if you’re only seeing the bad
00:25:20 The simplest things came from an idea
00:35:12 Team effort is the foundation of success
00:43:19 Celebrate each other’s success
00:58:24 Talk to yourself
01:06:47 Looking at things with both lenses
01:10:16 You gotta learn it
01:15:12 Would you wish pain and suffering for anyone?
01:20:50 Critical thinking
01:25:27 There is no handbook to fame
01:29:56 Kevin on Final Five

  • I used to really like Kevin, now I just really love him. I would have never thought a comedian and actor would be such an authentic, giving person. I’m sure he’s helping so many people! He has more respect from me than anyone I’ve ever seen.

  • This CD has three separate relaxation/meditation sessions on it kzhead.infoUgkxzpa8CIfZcihW4Z0F_ja0QF3W9KIatrsq guided by a very pleasant and direct male voice. Unlike so many other products of its type, this CD does not have bad synthesizer music, does not feature a phony or affected style of narration, and does not make any bogus claims to be subliminal or to re-train the brain or any of that balderdash. What you get is 1. a guided meditation for getting into a pleasantly relaxed state of body awareness while taking a stroll (superb for those easing back into a fitness routine slowly after an illness or injury) 2. A nice long breath-awareness relaxation session that if followed diligently can put you into very deep states of full-body relaxation and mental calmness, and 3. a buddhist-inspired meditation session designed to help you develop and maintain feelings of loving kindness toward not just yourself and your friends, but toward people you don't even like. The CD makes no claims to be designed for advanced meditators or for buddhists or hindus/yoga practitioners looking for very deep and esoteric stuff. It is geared more toward the average person who just wants to develop the habit of relaxation and stress relief through natural, healthy means. him, if you happen to be reading this, keep up the good work fella, and I love your accent. I would also like to note that I have never fallen asleep while listening to this product. I would like to kindly suggest to the reviewer who said this CD makes him fall asleep, that he might want to get checked to see if he has a sleep disorder, or if he is simply not setting aside ample time for restful sleep at night. A healthy person getting adequate rest at night should be able to go into deep states of mental relaxation without dozing off, if not all the time, then most of the time.

The funny thing is that I've been able to use this lesson many times in my life and it's allowed me to do a lot of things that have surprised many on multiple occasions. Determination and persistance are important fondamental building blocks to anyones success. Today I'll add : fore sight and depth of vision to that list as well. Thank you so much to your team and you Jay for this content. I definitely needed to see this today, thank you!!!

I was writing screenplays then, including one which was very important to me, in which there was a character who was very wounded and became psychotic. When I told a friend I would like to have Kevin play that part, she laughed at me. But I knew that had a capacity for drama, and am happy he has added that to his repertoire.

    • I can relate SOOOO much to the thinking you're manipulating others but ultimately cheating yourself. Teachers, parents and friends being pleased with you based on something you haven't ACTUALLY done but being satisfied and self congratulating yourself for 'pulling the wool over their eyes' instead of just doing the thing. Not doing the homework but recalling just enough info to convince them otherwise... being late to meeting friends but being satisfied that they waited for you and making them smile/laugh by immediately ingratiating yourself... Long term its horrible you never develop the concept of hard work or the importance of valuing others time. That piece of homework or the punctuality of that catch up by itself wasn't that important but it's the pattern that forms by getting VALUE by NOT actually doing what you were supposed to.

My grandad was a skilled builder for example and refused to teach us. I recently spoke with him because he may go any day now. I said "thank you for your examples of what not to do" I have told my mother this too, their examples of how not to live life, have been incredibly powerful. What is unsaid, and unintentional has been such a north star in my life. Loving this Episode Jay- Kevin is amazing, he has learned a lot of wisdom in the past decade.

In addition to make you feel more guilty about your faults, pointing the finger at others will only serve to increase your sense of personal accountability. There's always a risk in every investment, yet people still invest and succeed. You must look outward if you wanna be successful in life.

    • The first step to successful investing is figuring out your goals and risk tolerance either on your own or with the help of a financial professional but is very advisable you make use of a professional like I did. If you get the facts about saving and investing and follow through with an intelligent plan, you should be able to gain financial security over the years and enjoy the benefits of managing your money.

  • Watched the podcast today . I know Kevin is a wise man but I didn’t knew that he is so deep. Every word comes out from him was a healing. His confidence and believing in himself spreads to the audence. I never saw Kevin on interview as serious as he is today. I learned a lot from you two guys. Respect ❤

  • I grew up with an older brother and sister who were alcoholics and/or drug addicts. They were in and out of jail/prison all the time. I always said they were a great BAD example. I didn't want to have to deal with the lives and loss of freedoms they had to. It was a terrific lesson on what NOT to do if you didn't want that type of life. Sadly.....in my senior years, I'm paying the price for it. My family hates me. But....I just find friends instead. ❤️❤️

  • Nothing is done by one individual. Exactly. This is why I've always found issues with terms like "self-made man" or even "self-sufficiency". Work on a farm and you'll see just how reliant you become on neighbours and mentors. Nothing is done in a vacuum where you are all of the necessary components: creator, manufacturer, builder, etc. Great interview; I have a lot of respect for Kevin Hart and his explorative mindset. Obviously nobody is perfect and that's really refreshing to think of too.

I CHOOSE TO EMBRACE THE LESSONS IVE LEARNED FROM THEM PRESENT OR NOT I LEARNED SOMETHING (WHAT TO DO AND WHAT NOT TO DO). THATS THE BEAUTY OF THE STRUGGLE
