  • Yes it sucks to lose a chicken to this. I totally get it. However this is a different situation the owl got the same fear in return what it did to the chicken. I don't think it will be back after this

  • You're not keeping him. If you live in the US, you cannot own a native owl. It's illegal.

    @teddyl7006@teddyl7006 Жыл бұрын
    • Yep, very illegal. Edit: also because she (the owl is very dark so i assume its female) is wild and i think keeping an already wild animal will be a disaster

    • Seriously? It's just an owl

    • @@ChopSquadBaby Seriously, if the governments discovers you are keeping a horned owl and you don't have the proper permits, they will take it from you. I don't care if you faint outrage over this but well meaning and some not so well meaning people think they can take-in wild predatory birds. They belong in the wild and those who want to adopt them without the proper permits belong in jail. They should never be kept as a pet unless the animal can't survive on their own and you have to proper qualifications to keep the animal. Based on your statement, it's clear you don't have the necessary knowledge to take on such a bird. If you want to do so, take on an apprenticeship with a licensed bird handler. Then get your certifications. This isn't just a hobby, but a lifestyle you will need to commit to for as long as you keep these birds--for most, it's a lifetime dedication. Those are the people I admire--not just some amature who thinks it looks easy. You'll mess up and the bird will suffer. Then again, based on your comment, you don't care about doing the right thing--you just care how you're going to get instant gratification. I feel sorry for the birds you take on because, for you, it's not about them. It's about you. Cruelty soon follows whether you're aware of it or not. If you want to take care of these birds, it'll take years for you to become proficient. It'll take you a long time for you to get your certifications. I already believe that it'll take more dedication than you are ever willing to give. I feel sorry for any birds you take on because your comment drips of arrogance and ignorance.

    • A TLDR version: You need to be a licensed bird handler to own a owl, otherwise it is VERY ILLEGAL and DANGEROUS for an average *inexperienced* citizen.

    • Most developed countries made obtaining birds illegal without the appropriate license.
