Your comment makes it sound like you were bummed out because the comment got likes. That’s the point of a comment section. So people can say things, have a dialogue, make people laugh, etc. about a topic that everyone in the comment section is interested in. Why would that make you jaded?

  • I can't believe how great he sounds- like, maybe the best he's ever sounded. Super lucid, calm and positive. It'd be sweet if this was a turning point and he went on another tear... I'll be rooting for him no matter what. He's the REAL people's champion, no question- no other fighter has fans that authentically and unconditionally love and support him like Tony.

  • Tony is the type of guy to ring via dial up in 2022. How can ya not love Tony, takin this brutal KO like a champ. He did look good old Tony in first round. Just wish he was years younger in his prime, even went to WW. He won UF at WW ffs yet ufc forced him down. Always be a El Cucuy fan, never boring, great streak in exciting way. Most underappreciated fighter, treated terrible and super unlucky. 💯

  • Dude i seen it. I seen every bit of that. When him and his wife started having problems i knew exactly what was wrong and in my opininion. Fixing things in his home is the most impressive thing he has acheived so far. Not a lot of people are able to recover from that.

    • @@mmafan2597 Tony had a pretty severe mental breakdown and was acting strange and potentially dangerously so his wife took their kid and split for a bit and called police on Tony. Tony was talking to walls and being unable to control his emotions. That KO was honestly really upsetting knowing what Tony has been through. CTE and brain damage isn't a joke. Hope he takes a bit of time off to allow his brain to heal.

    • It's one of my favorite films ever. Tesla (played by David Bowie) has a house in the movie where Angier keeps going to see how the "project" is going. That house is in Marble, CO, just a few mins from where I grew up. When they were shooting the film they had the roads closed down up there. But it is a fantastic and underrated movie!

    • @@ishowbag9007 being knocked out affects everyone differently. Not everyone recovers from serious concussions like what happened with Chris Holdworth after tj kneed him in practice. A lot of people changed their behaviour in fighting after their first time knocked out and many fighters have admitted they felt easier to be knocked out after first time. Tony has had issues mentally before this a severe concussion was last thing he needed after taking a lot of damage in every single fight even ones he wins.

If he lost to Mcgregor that would be the highest payday he’s got his entire career and it would be off the back of 5 losses. As fans we would love Tony vs Diaz but surely people must think Tony deserves a payday.

  • What a great interview. I think Tony has realised Two things that really destroyed him. One is the arrogance he developed over his twelve fight streak. He thought he's invincible and took some bad decisions with his coaching and health. Second is the setback or regret of Khabib fight not happening. I think it really got him mentally, specially after losing to Gaethje.

    • I agree with you but the problem is if Conor looses it would be catastrophic for the UFC and brand of Conor. If he is to loose it has to be to a fighter on a streak and/or prime. He loose to Tony after Tony dropped 4 in a row Conor would be spent.

Honestly if conor is scared of fighting tony rn he should not get near any one in the top 5 in 155. Chandler, gaethje,poirier, olivera,islam all finish conor easily. So what if he comes back and gets finished by those guys again?

I hope he can get a big win then ride off into the sunset getting business degree and doing some grappling and boxing matches or whatever he wants to make that money for his family.   • When Tony fought Gaethje, Oliveira, and Dariush he was dominated. But he wasn't dominated by Chandler. He was knocked out after taking it to Chandler in the first round. That could have happened to him at any point in his career -- it just so happened to be after he had already lost three in a row. It says little to nothing about his skills as a fighter like the other losses do.
