I genuinely think tht THIS is a buffet that my wife and I could both fully enjoy. Considering it's about the same cost as going to a nice restaurant AND you get 3 hours of booze means that we'd both be full and plastered by the time we left, it's perfect. I'm very jelly right now, despite you probably feeling like peanut butter

Average salary in Vietnam is 150$ per month so it is qeual like spending 3000$ to eat in US. It sound cheap to us but not in there.

The lobster with cheese on it is lobster mornay. A very classic dish. The bread you ate the foie gras is brioche. That's how it was traditionally made

About the crab head : We generally eat the stuff that is in the sides of the carapace, along with any of that tomalley. If the mouth is still attached to the head, then you have to lookout for the stomach, which is what made you react to. Some places do not remove the crab's stomachs
Crab gills are not toxic but if you enjoy eating bad tasting plastic that's the texture.
@@DespaceMan I wasn't referring to the gills. I was only talking about the head. Gills we remove as always and scrub the body clean, and do not remove the yellow stuff in the body. That shizz's gold
Fr, the “crab yolk” is the best part. I feel myself die a bit inside when some westerner makes a face and throws away the entire carapace without even opening it.
@@novavoltaris2198 I mop up every last bit of it everytime I have crabs or shrimps. Shrimp heads are severely underappreciated in the West as well.
@@szm5004 Fr, some asian stores even sell jars of shrimp brain. I love to simmer it for a while in a pan and use it in shrimp fried rice, or when I’m feeling indulgent that day I just eat it as is

The thing is he eats alot of the kinds of foods, but he eats like a bite or 2 and then leaves the rest to be wasted

I have tummy problems too (IBS), however, if you want to treat yourself to something like a buffet or a friend’s birthday party, etc - just on special occasions I take imodium (off-brand it is called ‘ Loperamide’) a couple of pills on an empty stomach an hour before eating naughty things, will slow things down for me and allow me to feel normal for that special day.

I feel you. I can't eat a lot of things because of food allergies and sensitivity to some textures (and yes weird textures have made me vomit before)..!
This buffet is incredible. I would totally go there and get it. The 15 $ alcohol Flatrate is very good if you drink Long Island Ice Tea the whole time. 😂 The fish that didn't know could be Tilapia. Texture looks very similar to that. Please let your wife do a video as a host. Cheers

This is incredible for the price; a meal this expensive may be out of the price range of locals (I don't know what the economy is like but a quick google check reveals average salary of 275 dollars US) but for a foreign visitor at that price, it is fantastic.
the yearly average income in Vietnam is at $4200. In Saigon where this buffet is the average income is like double or a bit more than double that. There are a lot of newly upper middle class and high income earners so they can do well especially when this price point it still rare and uncommon in such a large city.

All those beautiful and interesting looking desserts and Sonny only had flan. 😆 You don't have a separate stomach for desserts? I'm not a huge fan of fresh oysters myself but having them perfectly fried with batter or as oyster rockefeller (bacon + cheese) is different and definitely delicious.

The fried tofu pouches are called Inari sushi. They're my favorite as well. Unfortunately, they are almost unknown here and you get maybe one with a whole mixed box of vegan sushi, if you're lucky. Can't wait to enjoy the simple luxury of just buying half a dozen from a random Convenience store in Japan again.
