🥒 ABOUT BEFRS:
Hey, I’m Sonny! I’m from the US but I’ve been living in Asia for 10 years and started making food and travel videos to document my experiences. I travel to different parts of the world, hunting down and documenting the most unique food each country has to offer.
If you see any factual food errors in my videos, please feel free to politely let me know in the comments. I'm a huge fan of trying different, interesting foods in each country. My show is from a Western point of view, but more importantly, MY point of view. It is not meant to offend any person or culture.

    • @@happymess3219 no we haven’t. If you feel that way then you’re a people pleaser. If it was a societal expectation then why would my boyfriend even ask why he acts like it’s good? There would be no question. There’s plenty of videos and tv shows of people eating stuff and saying it’s gross. That’s not what I come to the channel for. I appreciate the respect & how he is different from all the other videos I’ve seen where they do act like it’s gross. It’s really about learning about different cultures & putting yourselves in their shoes. If you have such a simplistic & negative view then why are you watching? It was so sweet. I also love how he does so without infantilizing the people in the other countries he visits. Some people like to talk to people from other countries like children, & in a condescending way, because they feel like they’re beneath them, but they do so under the guise of being “nice”, when doing that is not nice at all. I have watched a few travel shows on there without a Trans person to be seen, so I think Sonny has a great chance if they think his content can pull in viewers. Not that there is anything wrong with a Trans travel show either! I'm an acquaintance with a very successful Trans Actress and I respect her journey immensely. Didn't have a clue she was even Trans until she came out in her breakout role. An absolute wonderful and caring person. • I've been watching this video for some time now. It's just one that I really enjoyed. Recently I learned I have a severe protein and iron deficiency, and the ideas of drinking blood, raw meat, or any meat at all went from a curiosity to suddenly something I feel I'd jump in on. It reminds me a story of a person lost at sea where their body eventually told their mind that the entire fish, guts and all were delicious, because they NEEDED those nutrients. I think, obviously, many of the people here that eat these: what we could consider "strange foods" this is both a product of how they grew up and just what their body needs. I guess it gives me even extra respect for Sonny. He travels all over for these crazy foods and tries them all, at any risk and with things not something he needs so therefore he experiences it all flat out. Always a pleasure. Always such a joy to learn from

    • @@marandaholley701 clearly your western industrialized views of animal husbandry are clouding your judgement. Animals, particularly cattle, that eat what they want, when they want and not when some shock trooper with a cattle prod is forcing them to eat, they don't get that fat. I'm not going to complain about having a thick, juicy, fatty steak on my plate, but I am going to make sure that animal wasn't abused and overfed by it's butchers. I'd rather eat from a slightly underfed cow (in their culture and where they live, it has more to do with land for grazing and protection from predators than general neglect, btw) than from a cow that's been tortured, overfed, and had zero exercise whatsoever in it's entire life. And this is coming from someone with many years working with farm animals of all types. Another possibility is that an animal could have a parasite, in which case there isn't much the tribe can do *except* kill and cook it, and pray it doesn't harm them.

  • I really love your show. I have to admit it's better than Bizarre Foods. You just have something special about you. Your personality really shines. You're very respectful towards other people's culture and beliefs. You're also humble. I noticed in your shows you always make people around you laugh and smile. Your show is so exciting. The tribe you visited were really nice and humble. BTW nice tire shoes 😂
