If the Leafs miss the playoffs it would be one of the greatest things to help this team going forward, and with that shaky goaltending it's very possible. Great regular seasons and first round exits are getting a little boring for this team. The need a top d core which has been the cliche for years. Forsling, Pesce, Hanifin, and Dillon are just some of the names that could be available July 1st, management needs to do all it can to sign at least 2 top 4 dmen. If free agency isn't the way they'll do it, they might have to consider moving a big piece, it won't be an aging Tavares with that big contract, likely will be Marner. They can get a top pairing dman for him. Time for some major changes

The offside should definitely invalidate the goal, but the Leafs should have still received a power play. That tripping penalty should be treated the same as any other penalty taken after a whistle.
It was only a penalty because it was part of a play. Had the whistle gone, they wouldn't even call that. So, right call.
@@my3dviews but the play continued, so your if is irrelevant. If they blew the whistle and he tripped a player after, it is still a penalty. That is what happened. Whether it is 10 seconds after the whistle or a full 2 minute play, it is a penalty after the whistle.

It's like if one of the defenders shot the puck over the glass. That is an automatic two minute penalty. If the play is determined to be offside, that lead up to the shot over the glass, that penalty is no longer valid. If it was a violent penalty call, like a spear or a high stick to the face, then yes the penalty would stand, but not a simple trip that was only called because it had the potential to affect the play. So, it was correctly voided with the offside call that allowed the play to continue and lead up to the trip.

R u worried the NHL is going to stop your replays? You really dont do the game any justice by not showing what happened at the end. SN is getting more irrelevant on replays the longer it goes.

Game is done Reilly, your team lost, get over it. Empty-net slapshot in front of hometown fans is OK. You may not like it, but the fans loved it. They're the paying customer, after all.
I mean that was an excessive response. But uh.. since when has a clap bomb on an open net Okay?? Never in my life have I seen that go without retaliation of some sort. Just not to this extent lol
