Tavares is always criticized for being to slow but you always find him in the tough spot in front of the net.
He is slow. Going to the front of the net does not mean you are fast. It means you are tenacious.
You find him there because he doesn't need to skate lol. Kidding aside, his strength has always been in front of the net in tight areas.
he is NOT slow. in past year yes, but he worked on his skating this past summer and he massively improved his speed.
