See the thing that bugs me about calling it a Fetish Con is that conventions that actually focus on fetishes have private areas and ask that you keep nsfw stuff in the private areas so as to not bother other guests. Adult conventions do exist, but this one wasn't advertised as one and didn't relegate this stuff to private areas. I don't mind if someone goes to Freaky Diaper Shitting Con 2019, but that convention isn't going to have the Open Shit panel in the open bc they respect the hotel. I think the fetish community honestly really hates being associated with groups like this bc it makes everyone look bad.

What really caused Rainfurrest to fail was the fact that the convention didn't ban anyone, so furries who were banned from other conventions for good reason arrived and showed everyone exactly why they're blacklisted from everything fur-con related. Basically, the worst of the worst showed up simply because they could and made the whole thing a living nightmare. Every fandom who holds conventions has a blacklist, and I'm fairly certain that if another fandom hosted a convention without their blacklist you'd get a similar result to Rainfurrest if not worse.

I mean I don't know many fandoms that are known for shitting yourself and acting like an animal, I believe this was a result of the no blacklist and the fact this was centred around a hobby that's also a fetish. I had a roommate who worked for a hotel cleaning service and got the call to clean up the 2015 Hilton mess after the furries left. The bill was in the tens of thousands because of all the human feces that had been ground into the carpets. He said it looked like people were crapping on the floors then stomping it into the carpet on purpose. None of us believed him when he told us the story because none of us knew what a furry was so it seemed impossible a person would do such a thing intentionally. In hindsight i miss those simpler and more innocent times when i didn't know those kid of people existed and still had a sliver of faith in humanity.

Im probably on the same list as these furries, since they stayed at a hilton too. I kept doing too many drugs and they would kick me out, but I would be so high off the drugs I'd just go back there like 2 days later and for some reason they always forgot and let me get a room again. Until one day when I got in trouble cause I wasnt even paying for the rooms anymore, I just had my RV, Car, and moped parked in the parking lot for a few days cause I was tired of aying so much in hotels. They towed my moped and told me I had to find a tow for my RV so I posted on facebook asking for help, but some joker went to the hiton and said "Yeahh mike sent me, just give me the keys" which they did even tho I never sent anyone to pick it, so then my whole house was basically stolen. I was don alot of meth at the time so my response to that was to start putting up signs saying how much they sucked, standing by gas stations near the hotel telling people that they sucked, and yeahh I kept going to the hotel to leave post it notes everywhere sayng how much t sucked, they'd take pictures of me doing it but I didn;t really care I wanted justice for my RV I;m off meth now tho so I don;t do anythng like that anymore Oh yeahh, the point of that story was, at one point they told me I had been reported to the Hilton corporate office several times now and they basically knew me by name

I use to deliver pizza in San Jose. The furry convention was held at the radisson by the airport. They placed a lot of pizza orders, and I saw some shit… the hot tub got closed after the first year or two because diapers were clogging it. I got propositioned to get “pounced” in an elevator. One room had the door open, where a bunch of 60-70 year old men in tighty whities were surrounded a bed with some 18 year old twink in his underwear was standing on. And much, much more. After a few years I realized they found a new hotel downtown and these people were out and about in the community. None of this video surprises me

Usually if an event is going to have enough people in the host hotel that they end up buying up all of the rooms, the hotel can be closed to the public, often with signs blocking the view into the hotel and stating so.

AFAIK the owner/organizer (guy with Mic) was too lenient on his friends' dumb to dangerous antics, there's more history than just 2015 but it was that year everything came to a head and down goes the ship. (IIRC they weren't even staff really, they just were friends with the main guy, so they weren't punished/discouraged properly in previous years. I think I read they/some of them actively resented the fact the owner let the diaper furries be welcome in the first place? so the sabotage is that result.)

When my dad was going through his divorce, and me and him were out of a place to live, we lived in a Best Western for about 6 months of my Sophomore year of High-school. It wasn't a bad hotel, we actually got the VIP suites on the house that were never booked because nobody could afford them, and my dad did maintenance work there. It was actually pretty nice. But one night, out of nowhere we find out that we need to pack up and find somewhere else to sleep because a Swinger Convention was coming into town. With no money, I ended up sleeping in the Maintenance room under a desk, and my dad slept in his truck becuase there was hardly any room in what was essentially a storage closet. But just outside this dingy room filled with lamps and tables, I could see the lights from the hallway gleaming through the underside of the door. The shrieks, the fur suit paws occasionally jogging by. It was a night in hell having to listen to the moans and laughs. At one point, I looked out the peep hole of the door to see a 50-60 year old man, just walking casually down the hallway with a leather Jockstrap on eating a donut. . . I will never forget that night. The next morning the hotel staff had to dispose of the sheets from 47 different rooms.
